materials which may be missed by an inspector. for scanning dense and
densely-loaded cargo
The detection of radiological and nuclear threat materials is a key priority
of cargo inspection. The search for these materials by visual inspection of
x-ray images alone is a skilled task, often reducing throughput speeds and
with high error rates from inexperienced operators.
Eective and ecient detection of materials of a high density or high
atomic number (high-Z) in cargo requires an advanced software detection
tool that supports high throughput environments.
The patent-pending Auto-Z application alerts the operator to the location
of fissile and shielding materials of a higher density than those found in
commercial cargo.
đƫ The Eagle Auto-Z Operator Assist tool is a cargo detection software
solution which alerts the operator to the location of potential high-Z
threat materials such as special nuclear material or radiation-shield
material.
đƫ This software solution is designed to aid the operator, helping
reduce the potential for operator error, especially in high throughput Rapiscan Eagle® M60 scanning
environments. with Auto-Z™ enabled.
đƫ Auto-Z processes single-energy x-ray image data, and applies a
detection algorithm based on fundamental material properties.
đƫ Oering high performance in highly-cluttered and dense cargo, Auto-Z
analyzes the x-ray image data and identifies the location of high-Z
material within the container, even for highly-cluttered and dense
cargo not fully penetrated by the beam (i.e., partially saturated).
đƫ Fully integrated within the Rapiscan Cargo Viewer, Auto-Z provides the
operator with real-time markup of areas which contain high-Z materials
within the cargo.
đƫ Auto-Z can also be used with other options available with Eagle
systems, including Material Separation and Radioactive Material
Detection. Use of Auto-Z with these complementary tools may improve
detection or false-alarm performance.
đƫ Auto-Z for example can detect shielded radioactive materials that
may not be detectable by standard radiation portal monitors (RPMs).
When used in conjunction with RPMs the software can provide a
specific location for risk items which " %(ƫ0+ trigger the RPM, critical
intelligence in keeping inspection teams safe.

TSA TM850
Automatically screen moving trains or
large vehicles for radioactive materials.
Portal Monitor for Trains or Large Vehicles
Continuously Screen Moving Cargo
High Throughput
Cost Effective
The TSA TM850 automatically screens railroad or vehicular trac without the Standard Features
need for frequent calibration. High sensitivity allows the TM850 to be used at
transportation hubs requiring a wider installation area and high throughput Programmable Detection Parameters
such as at ports and customs and border entry points. The TM850 is designed Audio and Visual Indicators
for use in harsh environmental conditions.
Relay Outputs for User Interface
Advanced Design Features
Universal Power Supply
The TSA TM850 is a train and large vehicle monitor with excellent sensitivity Ethernet Connectivity
and reliability. The TM850 consists of two self-contained, weather resistant
pillars placed on either side of the railroad track or roadway to be monitored. Battery Backup
Each pillar contains two large plastic scintillator detectors, four neutron Controller Mounting Options
detector blocks with either two or four neutron detectors each, multiple
occupancy sensors, and an amplifier. The master pillar also has a battery, NEMA 4 Rated Enclosure
power supply, battery charger, and a system controller. IP66 Rated Enclosure
Programmable Detection Parameters TSA RAVEN™ Compatible
Selectable settings for sensitivity, energy discrimination, and fault levels may
be entered by the administrator.
Easy-to-Operate
TSA RAVEN™ (Radiation

visual alarms will be triggered. The system monitors itself and indicates low response personnel in
and high background conditions. the field to pinpoint radioactive sources.

Flexible Detection Options and aid in managing individual detector
activity.
The TSA TM850 is available in three configurations; Gamma, Neutron or a
combination of Gamma and Neutron detection. Gamma provides detection of
ionizing radiation and Neutron provides detection of Special Nuclear Materials
(SNM) while the combined Gamma and Neutron provides the most powerful Markets
detection capabilities for radioactive isotopes even in shielded materials. Aviation
Interface Options Critical Infrastructure
With the optional Remote Alarm Panel operators can view alarms up to Customs and Border Control
300m from the monitor. The TSA TM850 is compatible with TSA RAVEN™ Defense
communications software designed to both capture and view data and video
