Dear Sir,

In regard to the dismissal on Febraury 19th, 2016 of Anna Stojanowska, horse
breeding inspector of the Agricultural Property Agency, as well as Marek Trela and
Jerzy Białobok, presidents of Janów Podlaski and Michałów studs, we would like to
express our regrets and grave concern over these sudden and unfortunate
decisions. We are writing to you not as representatives of any political fraction, but
as people that have for many years been associated with Arabian horse breeding
either professionally or simply as its enthusiasts. It is also not our aim to go into
detail regarding the political or personal reasons that may be the cause of the
inspector's and the presidents' dismissals.
All three persons have for years been loyally associated with national Arabian
horse breeding at the state studs, devoting their talent and both professional and
personal lives to these jobs. Each of them had begun their career from hands-on
experience and thoroughly getting to know the requirements of the job,
successively working their way through all career stages: as a simple stable
worker, head groom, veterinary officer, breeder etc., under the watchful eye of
legendary mentors Andrzej Krzyształowicz and Ignacy Jaworowski.
The creation of the power that Polish Arabian horse breeding is today took place
as a result of their personal involvement and dedication - through everyday work at
the studs, but also by gaining connections, trust, authority and respect all over the
world. This is reflected in the social functions served on national and international
organizations that unite breeders: the Polish Arabian Horse Breeders Association,
the European Conference of Arabian Horse Organizations (ECAHO) and the World
Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO).
The titles, distinctions and honours that have been bestowed upon Polish horses
bred thanks to the brave decisions, knowledge, experience and breeding intuition
of Jerzy Białobok, Marek Trela and Anna Stojanowska are endless. These
successes had a direct influence on the growing market value of Polish horses -

not only those from state studs, but also those of private ownership.
Polish Arabian horses are a part of our national heritage. Thanks to maintaining
the continuity of existence and the supervision of the Polish State over the studs,
they have also become the only national export product that has uninterruptedly
enjoyed a growing recognition among buyers all over the world.
The breeding of Arabian horses is an extremely sensitive field and every sudden
change may lead to unpleasant and irreversible consequences. One of the
elements of success is the continuity of its existence, guaranteed by the
maintaining of a state-owned status by the most valuable studs. The
second should be the ensuring of the best, professionally trained staff: from the
very basic stable employees to the very top, the so-called "heads" in the form of
experienced breeders, managers, presidents. We are under the impression that
the head has just been separated from the body.
As a result we are asking to reconsider the decisions which may have long-term
and irreversible effects for the maintaining of our breeding at the high level at
which it currently stands. We are not authorized to speak on behalf of the
dismissed people and we are not necessarily calling for their reinstatement to their
previous positions. However we do feel that they should at least have a chance to
return within the structures of Polish breeding in order to complete their lives' work
and school their successors.

The breeding stock was almost destroyed in both world wars. In the second,
fleeing the Russian advance, they were led across Dresden the very night it
was bombed. Eighty stallions died.

In 1945 the remaining grooms and horses returned to Poland, finally reaching
Janow in 1960. The communist regime allowed it to survive. And now in peace
and democracy time could be destroyed because political games!! We have to
fight for polish horses.

Bialobok and Anna Stojanowska from their current positions was made without
a full understanding of the history of the State Studs in Poland and their global
reputation as being one of the finest in the world and of being home to some of
the very best and most beautiful Arabian horses alive today. Attaining such a
degree of excellence and worldwide recognition didn't happen by accident. It
was achieved over long years of planning and dedication on the part of Mr.
Trela of Janow Podlaski, and Mr. Bialobok of Michalow and Ms. Stojanowska of
the Agricultural Property Agency along with a long list of predecessors dating
back nearly 200 years and almost 500 years before the state studs had been
formed. The few remaining state studs in the world provide continuity of breed
type and vision that has not been possible in private hands. Such a loss would
be irretrievable, both to Poland and to the world at large. I, therefore, plead
with you to reconsider Poland's commitment to the survival of the Polish State
Studs and to do so in a manner that will assure the continuance of the
legendary, extraordinary and world renowned reputation they presently enjoy
within the global Arabian horse community largely because of the efforts of
Directors Trela & Bialobok & Chief Specialist Stojanowska. I urge you to
restore them to their positions of leadership and thus preserve Poland's long
term history and commitment to such a national treasure.

would like to express our regrets and grave concern over these sudden and
unfortunate decisions. We are writing to you not as representatives of any
political fraction, but as people that have for many years been associated with
Arabian horse breeding either professionally or simply as its enthusiasts. It is
also not our aim to go into detail regarding the political or personal reasons that
may be the cause of the inspector's and the presidents' dismissals.
All three persons have for years been loyally associated with national Arabian
horse breeding at the state studs, devoting their talent and both professional
and personal lives to these jobs. Each of them had begun their career from
hands-on experience and thoroughly getting to know the requirements of the
job, successively working their way through all career stages: as a simple
stable worker, head groom, veterinary officer, breeder etc., under the watchful
eye of legendary mentors Andrzej Krzyształowicz and Ignacy Jaworowski.
The creation of the power that Polish Arabian horse breeding is today took
place as a result of their personal involvement and dedication - through
everyday work at the studs, but also by gaining connections, trust, authority
and respect all over the world. This is reflected in the social functions served on
national and international organizations that unite breeders: the Polish Arabian
Horse Breeders Association, the European Conference of Arabian Horse
Organizations (ECAHO) and the World Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO).
The titles, distinctions and honours that have been bestowed upon Polish
horses bred thanks to the brave decisions, knowledge, experience and
breeding intuition of Jerzy Białobok, Marek Trela and Anna Stojanowska are
endless. These successes had a direct influence on the growing market value
of Polish horses - not only those from state studs, but also those of private
ownership.
Polish Arabian horses are a part of our national heritage. Thanks to maintaining
the continuity of existence and the supervision of the Polish State over the
studs, they have also become the only national export product that has
uninterruptedly enjoyed a growing recognition among buyers all over the world.
The breeding of Arabian horses is an extremely sensitive field and every
sudden change may lead to unpleasant and irreversible consequences. One of
the elements of success is the continuity of its existence, guaranteed by the
maintaining of a state-owned status by the most valuable studs. The
second should be the ensuring of the best, professionally trained staff: from the
very basic stable employees to the very top, the so-called "heads" in the form
of experienced breeders, managers, presidents. We are under the impression
that the head has just been separated from the body.
As a result we are asking to reconsider the decisions which may have long-
term and irreversible effects for the maintaining of our breeding at the high level
at which it currently stands. We are not authorized to speak on behalf of the
dismissed people and we are not necessarily calling for their reinstatement to
their previous positions. However we do feel that they should at least have a
chance to return within the structures of Polish breeding in order to complete
their lives' work and school their successors.

Our journey to Poland began in June of 1968 with an invitation from Dr. Edward
Skorkowski, founder of the Polish Arabian Horse Registry, who traveled with us
for 3 weeks while we visited, photographed, and evaluated the mares and
stallions at Janow, Michalow, Kurozweki and the Race Track in Warsaw.

We returned every year from 1968-1988 to purchase breeding stock for
Patterson Arabians which eventually became the largest pure Polish Arabian
breeding farm in North America.

We were the breeders of Monogramm, a stallion that has made millions of
dollars for the Polish State Studs over the years gained global recognition as
stallion of the century for Poland.

Richard and I spent many hours and days in the homes of Andrzej
Krzysztalowicz and Ignacy Jaworowski who, became our dear friends and
mentors. With their help, Patterson Arabians became world renown for
breeding Beautiful Polish Arabians.

In 1997 I returned to see a free Poland and my dear friends Andrzej
Krzysztolowicz, Marek Trela, Ignacy Jaworowski, & Uzsula & Jerzy Bialobok,
Iza Zawadsk and so many others, who had freely shared their knowledge over
the decades.

My 1997 visit was such a blessing, as both Andrzej and Ignacy passed away
within 18 months of my visit, which I know was prompted by God. And, of
course! I took home three more horses - a beautiful stallion and two
outstanding mares.

The legacy of Poland and the excellence and continuity of its world renown
breeding program will not continue without the reinstatement of State Stud
Directors Marek Trela, Jerzy Bialobok, and the Anna Stojanowska.

For the sake of Poland and the continuing significance of Polish Arabian
Breeding world wide, these people need to be reinstated.

The Polish Arabian horse MUST NOT be compromised by Politics!

owned/bred 24 purebred Arabian horses. Only 2 do not have the blood of the
