KING AND I.
South High School's First Choir is in rehearsal. Rarely do members
remark that they don't care for a particular number being rehearsed.
Like Nebraska weather, they know the songs will soon change be-
cause of the many performances for which they must prepare.
The 1962-63 First Choir agenda was no exceptio n to the rapid
race. Early in the fall the choir presented two assembly programs for
the students of George W. Norris Junior High School. A patriotic se-
quence for American Education Week. Open House followed. The
Christmas season brought five performances of the traditional vesper
MUSIC AND THE SPOKEN WORD. Before the first semester closed, the
choir participated in the All-City Festival and appeared on the dedica-
tion program of the Ralph M. Marrs Junior High School.
A new and exciting activity of the year was the March produc-
tion of Rodge rs and Hammerste in's musical play THE KING AND I.
Other performances included Sound-Off, the spring concert MUSIC
FOR A MAY NIGHT, and Commencement.
