Chris Marion Stephanie Reyes The 1993 yearbook s1aff chose "Can'1 Hold Us Back" for the theme Carrie Foreman A manda Shiller
of 1his year's book. It contained 186 pages with eight four-color pages in
1he opening signa1ure. Chuck Olbertz, uncle of senior Brandi Krimmel,
designed the cover art. Colors used on the cover were black ( #785), red
(#331). and white (#3 25). This year 550 copies of the book were sold
for $25 a piece. The staff used a new darkroom and computer lab set up
in Room 367.

Sponsored by the Senior Class Officers,
under the sponsorship of Mr. Shawm Hoschar,
Prom was held April 16 at the Scoular Grain
Building on 20th and Dodge Streets.

The theme of the prom was "A Whole New
World" and colors were red, black and gold.
Students and guests danced to music provided
by Complete Music.

"I was really surprised when they called my
name as King," said Marion about the evening.

Following Prom, many students attended
the After-Prom party at Creighton University.
Sponsored by parents, the party allowed
students to play games, swim, dance, eat and
win prizes as they stayed up all night.

New theater

opens with Oliver, Senior Krista
Johnson, sings about the
performance of wonderful feeling "he" (she) is
having with the city people.
Oliver

Senior Krista Johnson played the title role

in South's production of Oliver, March 4-7, on
the newly renovated stage.

Set in the new theater, the musical tells
the story of an orphan boy in London who is
sold out for labor. He becomes mixed up with a
gang of pickpockets and eventually is reunited
with his grandfather.

Under the direction of Mr. James
Eisenhardt, drama teacher, the cast included
well over 50 members. Mr. Doug Young
designed the stage and Ms. Mary Lou Jackson
supervised the musical numbers. Mr. Eisenhardt
and Ms. Jackson choreographed the dance
numbers.

''This play was a lot of work but it paid off in
the end," said Ms. Johnson.
