"The Year Of The Eagle"

The Annual Military Ball was held Friday, March
19, 1981, at the Milo Bail Student Center on the
UNO campus. This year s honorees were Dr. Owen
A. Knutzen, retiring Superintendent of the Omaha
Public Schools. The Ball is h eld annually to honor
and recognize senior JROTC cadet officers in the
Omaha Public High Schools.

This years senior cadet officers recognized at the
Ball were C/Lt. Col. Syndia Joaquin, C/Major
Chester Betts, C/Major Joseph Allen, C/Captain
Kevin Abelein, C/Capt. J eff Luschen, C/Lt. Mike
Austin.

Variety Of Talents Explode At "Sound
Off"

"Sound Off" 1982, was presented on April -
29, 30, and May 1, in the auditorium. It con-

sisted of seventeen acts performed by stu-
dents and faculty, exploding with talent.
Much hard work and long hours went into
this year's performance, not only by the
participants but also by the director, Mr.
Mark Arnold. Just some of the acts present-
ed were: Flash, Fellow's Follies, "Sweet
Madame Blue", "For Your Eyes Only", and
the Jockettes.

Prom 1982 was h eld on Fri-
day, April 16. The theme was
Stairway to the Stars. Mike
Stastny and Lori Roehr were
crowned King and Queen. Mr.
and Miss Congeniality were
Joanne Wisinski and Craig Cur-
ran. Rocking Horse provided
the entertainment to a good
size crowd at the Livestock Ex-
change Ballroom.
