Their experience may be little, but many of
these sophol1\ore girls, who will enter First Choir or
First Girls' Choir next year, are already accumulat-
ing the needed knowledge which will be important
in their future musical efforts.
Through this choir, the girls are sharing m an
opportunity to learn the fundamentals of vocal music.
Along with their own abilities and the fine instruc-
tion of their director, Roland Hinrichs, Southites
can be assured of pleasing performance in the years
ahead.

Two sports milestones were reached this year.
First, the S.H.S. swimming pool was finished last fall. It had been
started in 1927, but the swimming area was covered with a floor and used
as an R.O.T.C. drill room until 1963 when sufficient funds finally became
available to provide for its completion.
The second cause for elation came on March 6 when a member of the
newly organized Packer gymnastics team took a first place in state com-
petition. It was George Sederavicius, a senior, who became the Nebraska
champion of the long horse event.
Southites have the opportunity of participating in various sports in
which they can develop physical strength, good sportsmanship and leader-
ship-all keys to a good life in the future for the individual and the com-
munity he serves.

coach of the Packers this year. South's offense

The clubs at South High offer students of varying interests a chance
to meet and work with others who share those interests. A double reward
of new friendships and increased knowledge and experience came to the
many Southites who invested their time in club participation.
United club efforts included the H omecoming Parade m the fall and
the Club Scholarship in the spring.
Thus, club membership should serve as a key to a happier present and
future.
A scene at the Latin Club Banquet, shown at the rig ht, typifies the union of en-
tertainment and learning made possible through club membership.
