PAMBANSANG SAMAHAN NG INHENYERO MEKANIKAL INC. CPD ACCREDI TAT ION NO. ME E -2022-041

Heavenly Father, Bless our endeavors, as we submit ourselves to the service of our Organization, the PSIM We come before you in humility, to seek for wisdom each time we will make decisions. To seek for patience in times of undelivered plans, and to seek for understanding that will allow us to hear different minds of your loving creations, the Mechanical Engineers. Before we think about what’s best for us, we know your plans are better. Teach us to seek what you think will be best for our organization and for our membership. Always remove pains in our hearts, and let those pasts, be not a driver of disunion. Help us to become the listening organization, so each, can unload pains for a lighter journey to a common destiny of providing welfare for all. After all, we all just live once. and so we can ensure, we make the most out of this given life, as Mechanical Engineers. We lift up to you all the PSIM officers. that they may discover the better approach in coming out with favorable outputs. That they decide not because of whose ideas it is, but whose ideas will benefit the most. Let them operate not thru popularity, but thru, the essence of what they speak and live. We lift up to you the officers of the past and the senior advicers of this organization. that they may become more understanding, more open to the new ways of this new world, And to become more forgiving when mistakes are committed. We lift up to you our membership, let them be with us not for self but for the fulfillment of our Vision. We lift up to you all the Mechanical Engineers, Certified Plant Mechanics & the Mechanical Engineering Students. We lift up to You our pillars in this Profession, the Board of Mechanical Engineering that they may continue to share their wisdom, guided by their selfless genuine servanthood. As we all journey together, let each one be open to ask forgiveness, and to accept corrections, to make each one a better person each day. We pray that you make all our events, a joyful and fruitful one, as we strive to fulfill our mission and purpose. To live, and to share the PSIM Values Amen. THE P S IM PRAYER

MISSION “The Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal, Inc, or PSIM, a National Organization of Mechanical Engineers aspire to become the best provider of services to its members for them to become excellent performers in the mechanical engineering profession, valuable technology contributors to national development, protecting the environment and natural resources, and effective channels of global technology transfer." VISION Acronym – STRELGIQ S - Stewardship, Service T - Teamwork R - Resiliency E - Excellence L - Learning, Leadership G - Growth I - Innovation, Q - Quality CORE VALUES “As members of the Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal, Inc. or PSIM, we are committed to render professional services to our clients, employers, the community, and to the general public, upholding the highest integrity of the profession and contributing to the social, economic and wellbeing of our country. We will adhere to the principles of sustainable and continuous improvement in the practice of our profession through research and global technology transfer, specializations in different fields and branches of Mechanical Engineering through training programs and activities to enhance career path progression for PME, ACPE, ASEAN Engineer and APEC Engineer, other international cooperation among Mechanical Engineers, and collaboration with other allied science and engineering professionals and shall provide total service satisfaction to our members, our stakeholders and the public in general."

With the divisiveness and disunity H happening the In in the S PSME as the T professiona O l mechanical eng R ineering orga Ynization in the Philippines, a group of concerned Mechanical Engineers has formed the Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanikal, Inc. (PSIM). In 2018, PSIM was organized andregistered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and issued SEC Registration Certificate No. CN201805375 dated April 18, 2018, as a non-stock, non profit organization of Mechanical Engineers in the Philippines with the primary purpose: “Established for the welfare of Mechanical Engineers in adherence to ethical standards, promoting career and technology advancement and networking with other similar organizations.” The Incorporators and the First Board of Trustees, mostly Past Chapter Presidents and Past Officers of PSME Manila (Host Chapter), and three (3) Past PSME National Presidents were as follows: Ernesto J. Casis (deceased) Murry F. Demdam Cesar S. Galang Archie B. Maglaya Pablito C. Ocampo (deceased) Rodesendo V. Moreno, Jr. Ricardo P. Quijano Although PSIM was incorporated in 2018, its formal business operations was deferred, and waited up to 2020, with the many unification effort attempts in previous years between PSME Officers from contending groups; with the unification of PSME Bayoran group and PSME Paredes group in 2018; and finally in 2019 with the unification of PSME Paredes group and PSME Campa group, and formation of the set of Interim Officers coming from PSME Paredes and PSME Campa. But still, there was no unity and harmony in the Mechanical Engineering professional organization, due to some flagrant violations of those in power of the rule of law, the constitution and by laws. Also, there were already clamors from the mechanical engineers for the national leadership of the professional organization to produce the approved Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) at the Professional Regulation Commission. But to no avail, whoever is making a lead in asking to produce the AIPO, will be hit below the belt unprofessionally in the social media. But nature has its own way of playing with the events, for the resignation of the duly elected 2021 PSME National President has triggered to start and be united in one objective clamoring for a truly professional organization to lead the membership, which was the start and born of the Concerned Mechanical Engineers of the Philippines (CMEP). Again, this group was morally united and one to stand for the benefit of the mechanical engineers, its concerned voluntary leaders aim was to unite the mechanical engineers and stand and lead in fighting for what is right by following the rule of law, in uplifting the mechanical engineering profession. It was then in 2021, that PSIM became the focal point to start a new horizon of mechanical engineering organization, which business operation was officially and legally commenced. With the selfless and joint voluntary leadership efforts of Engr Jaime Jajay E. Cruz, 2017 PSME National President, where he finished the term of PSME National President Leandro A. Conti, then reelected as 2018 PSME National President, together with the PSME 2018 National Executive-Vice President and PSME 2019 Awards and Recognition Committee Member, and Past PSME Pampanga Chapter President, Engr Jerry L. Tecson, and Engr Ricardo P. Quijano, Past Chapter President of PSME Manila Host, who brought the brilliant idea of just reviving the PSIM, as it was already registered at the SEC, rather than creating a new professional organization, which is more tedious, hassle and emotional taxing. Engr Ricardo Quijano was the light that bridged all leaders and Incorporators, which start the new horizon journey of PSIM. Engr Jaime Jajay Cruz, Engr Jerry Tecson, and Engr Ricardo Quijano, offered voluntarily their time, heart and commitment, and led for the PSIM compliance of the statutory requirement of SEC, BIR , LGU and the opening of local bank. The following Officers were elected per CBL. President Ernesto J. Casis Vice-President (Acting) Pablito C. Ocampo Secretary Rodesendo V. Moreno, Jr. Treasurer Ricardo P. Quijano PRO (Acting) Cesar S. Galang Trustee Archie B. Maglaya Trustee Murry F. Demdam PSIM THE Appointed Regional Vice-Presidents: NCR Luzon Visayas - Antonieto P. Flores Mindanao - Roberto E. Sollano International

It was also in 2021, where the PSIM applied and approved at the SEC some provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, which its purpose was amended as approved by SEC, as follow: “To integrate the professionals of one discipline into one (1) national organization and unite all practitioners for the exclusive purpose of advancing the Arts and Science of Mechanical Engineering, the allied Arts and Science and human factors for the benefit of the general public as defined in the Articles of Incorporation.” Different 2021 Standing Committees and other important positions were immediately created to normalize operations as follows: Constitution and By Laws Chairman Ma. Greetings and congratulations to the Pambansang Samahan ng Inhenyero Mekanical, Inc. (PSIM) on the occasion of the 3rd PSIM National Convention on September 28-30, 2023 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Mechanical engineering has been the driving force in the progress of our economy and the advancement of human society. The rise of cities — whether ancient or modern — has been made possible by the simplest construction tools and machines. The technology and infrastructure for transportation and communications which are so crucial to human interaction and societal growth are made possible by mechanical inventions. Mechanical engineers influence every facet of our life, whether past, present or future. Much of the growth and advancement in mechanical engineering has been achieved through learning and collaboration. The current information age is dramatically changing how we learn and collaborate. If before, much of human knowledge is concentrated in academic and learning centers, today's technology has removed these geographic barriers, allowing access to a wealth of data and information across time and space. Open and shared resources give scientists, engineers and every other learner access to the world's accumulated knowledge, including the scientific communities' current initiatives and endeavors in creating applications responsive to humanity’s present needs. The PSIM theme for this year's national convention — The Cradle for the Advancement of the Mechanical Engineering Profession through Shared Resources and Expertise — is therefore most apt. It recognizes and promotes the principle of shared learning not only as a means to generate greater expertise, but more importantly, as a way to disseminate expert knowledge to a critical mass of mechanical engineers. This strategy should prove useful in further catalyzing the growth of mechanical engineering as a profession, and more importantly, in magnifying your profession's contribution to the advancement of our country's economy and our people's progress. The Office of the Solicitor General is one with the PSIM in its most noble objectives. Our legal advocacy as the defender of the Republic and Tribune of the Filipino people recognizes the crucial role of science and engineering in building a prosperous and just social order for our people today and in the future. Warm greetings to all the attendees of the 3rd Pambansang Samahan ng lnhenyero Mekanikal, Inc. (PSIM) National Convention! Your theme for this year’s convention, “The Cradle for the advancement of Mechanical Engineering profession through shared resources,“ highlights the PSIM's noteworthy appreciation for collaboration, one that is shared with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. We laud as well the PSIM's regard for continuing professional development, as this will help maintain our engineering professionals' relevance in an increasingly competitive work environment. As the government agency mandated to oversee the technical vocational education and training (TVET) in the country, TESDA strives to maintain the standards for training programs that are at par with industry requirements here and abroad. This is accomplished primarily through our partnerships with industries, which provide us with the updated knowledge necessary to ensure the quality of Philippine TVET, and our gradates and workers. This synergistic relationship between TESDA and key industry players is essential in achieving our common goal of sustainable national development. May this event be an avenue for the fruitful discussions and decisions necessary to propel the mechanical engineering industry to even greater heights. Congratulations to the PSIM for a successful National Convention. With great pride and honor, I would like to welcome everyone to the PSIM Mechanical Engineering Students’ Conference 2023! Convention, specifically Students’ Conference is an important opportunity for every student and pre- professional in realizing the growth of themselves and their progress towards professionalism. Most of us in the professional group of Mechanical Engineers have our own fair share of NatCon experiences when we were young. We all have our own epiphany in realizing and appreciating the vastness of Mechanical Engineering profession in the country and beyond. I am very grateful that we are now embracing a new identity of ME Students’ convention, that we now coined as MESCON. MESCON is not only a brand that we, the Mechanical Engineers and the students can embrace as an identity of our own. But also, MESCON is a gamechanger of a student-centered convention, created by the students and for the students. One of the biggest challenges of the post-pandemic times is the difficulty in bringing back together people in one place at the same time. With the dawn of alternative webinar platforms, value-addition and engagement addition to in-person conventions are now important more than ever. We at MESCON made sure that there will be a lot of avenues to look at, competitions to join in, and bacons to bring home. Surely, the convolution of bringing together mechanical engineering students from almost 120+ mechanical engineering schools in the Philippines, is worth all the hard work. This year is a dawn of a new era of Mechanical Engineering Conferences. This year, Mechanical Engineering students from across the country will come together to show what they’ve got, giving pride to their respective university, but unanimously raising the flag of our beloved Mechanical Engineering Profession! The theme “PSIM: The Cradle for the Advancement of Mechanical Engineering profession through shared Resources and Expertise” posts a great challenge to all of us Mechanical Engineering practitioners. This new decade of our profession unveils the opportunities for collaborations and unity from among all Mechanical Engineers in the Philippines and around the world. On another angle in the real world, many events happen and in most times, it is where people look at. Our thrust in PSIM is to let each of us master ourselves by focusing on the “meaning” of circumstances that are controllable. This is also a part of nurturing each of us in a “cradle”. And as we master ourselves, we take over control of our own happiness. Let’s continue to share our expertise and resources as we take mastery of ourselves. And as we do so, we grow. The Cradle symbolizes care, nurturing, fragility, rhythm and LOVE. And I will always say, if there is LOVE, we will LIVE LONG as an organization. This National Convention which I will say, a “record breaking” event, will not only be remembered through its programs, but thru the many hearts of a genuine servant who have seen, heard and felt the PSIM culture, which sets the difference. This event will become another important milestone in the PSIM History. CONGRATULATIONS to all servant leaders and remember to spread out the good things we do in PSIM. “PSIM: The Cradle for the Advancement of Mechanical Engineering Profession thru Shared Resources and Expertise” 2023 PSIM NATIONAL PRESIDENT Engr. Jonathan P. San Juan, PME, MBA PSIM National President 2023 MESSAGE

To our esteemed Members, Chapter Presidents, Sponsors, Exhibitors, and Delegates coming from the different regions of the Philippines, fellow National Board of Trustees, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant day to all of us. The theme for this 3 rd National Convention - “PSIM: THE CRADLE FOR ADVANCEMENT FOR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROFESSION THROUGH SHARED RESOURCES & EXPERTISE,” is the beginning of another new season of events, promising journey for the welfare and growth of our fellow Mechanical Engineers. This is an initial step towards a brighter time for a new destiny. As what the scripture says, “There is a season for everything, and a time for every event under the heaven.” This passage is pregnant with meanings and applications in our present quest for belongingness. As we observed, there were some new planting and uprooting of which once planted, likewise, there is the dying of and the birthing of a new “event.” Let’s just not be weary and not too in a hurry, for in due time, we will achieve and harvest what we are hoping for. The time and the signs are conceivable. There is now the dawning for PSIM to shine in coming tomorrows. Therefore, let us continue to gird ourselves with strength, patience, and compassion to attain what many of us are dreaming of.
