Christmas In July Show

The 4th of July shows kick off each year with the Horse show buddies.
Christmas In July show which was held, June 28, 29
and 30. There were 90 classes over the three days. Chris
Bobo, Johnny Puckett and Paul Robbins served as
judges for the 507 entries.

For the second year in a row Mach 1 with Jim-
my McConnell claimed the Christmas In July Grand
Champion title for owner Molly Walters. Reserve went
to Minor Ordeal and Tyler Baucom for owner Mona
Dean. Rouding out the top three was Walk For Roses
and Russ Thompson for the Logan, Manos and Brassy
partnership.

Auxiliary held their Annual Money Tree Classic July 1,
2022 at the Calsonic Arena in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

Jamie Bradshaw, Robert Cortner and Mike Hilley
served as judges for the 38 classes and 235 entries.

This year, Mr. Magnifico with Link Webb claimed
the Andy Adkins Memorial Walking Horse Champion-
ship for owners Case, Barnes and Kilgore. Walkin Mr.
Charlie and Jimmy McConnell claimed the reserve for
owners Terry and Lisa Smith.

Hilda Gray’s Blue Ribbon Chocolate Cream Pie

11/2 c. sugar 1 Tbsp. cocoa 1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. flour 1 1/2 c. milk 1 (9 inch) pie crust
3 eggs, separated 1/2 stick butter

Mix dry ingredients well. Pour milk: add egg yolks, vanilla, and butter. Cook pie filling
on top of stove until thick. Bake pie crust until golden brown at 350 degrees. Pour pie
filling into pie crust. Beat egg whites until stiff, then gradually add 3 tablespoons sugar.
Spread on top of filling and brown in over until lightly brown at 350 degrees.

The Tennessee Walking Horse Youth Association has compiled and published a cookbook, entitled “Friends,
Food, & Horses.” This cookbook is a collection of over 440 recipes from members of the Tennessee Walking
Horse industry. The cookbook also has a special “in memory of “ section, which contains recipes belonging to

individuals from the Walking Horse family who have passed away.

The cookbooks can be purchased for $20 + $8.50 shipping
