Belfast had a show. They made
lots of changes, one making
it a two day show. Another
change was having two and
three year old classes on Fri-
day and Saturday night. That
way trainers could show more
than one of their young horses. The weath-
er was perfect and the crowd came to see a
horse show.
The judge for this new show was Jamie
Bradshaw. 292 entries for the two nights was
the final tally. The show was over each night
by 10:30, which everyone loved.
The stake class with five entries brought

Youth Project
Learning To Use Ipeds
Again Chris Hazelwood, Youth Vice President has worked really hard at keeping our youth active with the
association. This time giving them a project to teach them how to use Ipeds. They were told to research any
former show mares and see if they had produced any show horses. This was something for our youth to do
during this Covid-19 pandemic. Boy did they embrace the challenge. We got more then we can every print,
but we are going to highlight a few of the ones that they came up with. The youth are the future of our breed
and they are working hard for the association and to learn all they can about the Tennessee Walking Horse.
Another great job.

Do you have a goal for the year ahead (or beyond)? My goal
in life would be to open my own restaurant.
Do you have a personal motto or philosophy by which you
live? I do not have a personal motto, but I remind myself every
day to be confident and kind.
Who is someone that you look up to or admire? I love Julia child
because of all the amazing cooking she has done.
Who is someone in the horse business that you look up/
admire? I look up to Amber Marshall because she loves horses, and has a ranch on and off of the set of heartland
How did you get started in the horse business? When I was little I would always ask my mom for riding lessons. One day,
she and my aunt were talking, one thing led to another, and my aunt and I started lessons together.
Aside from horses, what is your favorite hobby or pastime? I love to cook and bake.
What is your favorite memory with a Tennessee Walking Horse? My favorite memory with a Tennessee walking horse was
the first time I rode a certain horse, her name was Bella. I hadn’t ridden English saddle in around a year and a half, so I was a bit
rusty, but as soon as I got on her I felt like I was floating. It was amazing.
Who was your first horse? I do not own a horse, but my first ride was on a walker named Maggie.
When/where did you win your first Blue ribbon? I won my fist blue ribbon at an obstacle class. I don’t remember where. If
you show, which division(s) do you show in? I show spotted horse, country pleasure, western classes, and sometimes I
show English.
Favorite horse? My favorite horse is Maggie May’s Spirit AKA Annie.
Favorite horse show? My favorite horse show was the first time I won a blue ribbon. They called my name and my jaw
dropped. I felt like I was floating on a cloud.
Does owning or riding a horse help you in school or in life? Absolutely! I ride on Wednesdays and Saturday’s and riding
just takes all the stress away. It also gives you something good to look forward to.
What is the best thing your horse does for you? The best thing horses do for me is just to be there.
Do you have a favorite horse movie? I love the heartland series.
What do you enjoy most about the horse industry? I enjoy going in to the barn early on a Saturday morning when it’s all
quiet, mucking stalls, grooming and riding.
Do you have a favorite horse show/Celebration food? I enjoy when they have lemonade at the shows.
If your horse was a human, what would his/her job be? If the horse I ride was a human, she would be retired, sitting on the
couch all day, eating chips.
Favorite TV show? Bobs burgers.
Favorite singer/band? Billie Eilish and Halsey.
Favorite season? Fall.
