Here’s To The Horse
TWHBEA host ag officials for elegant
gathering and fun night at the Celebration!
TWHBEA’s Here’s to the Horse event was held on
September 2, 2021, in the Hall of Fame room during
the last Thursday night of the Celebration. This
event brings together our industry partners, support-
ers, local and statewide politicians, the Tennessee
Department of Agriculture, and other supporting
Agriculture groups. TWHBEA’s goal is to bring ev-
eryone together on a special night which happens to
also be TWHBEA Night of the National Celebration.
This events success couldn’t be done without the help
of our special contributors.

World Grand Champion
Tennessee Walking Horse
The 84th Annual Tennessee Walk-
ing Horse National Celebration ended
with the crowning of Justified Honors
as the 2022 World Grand Champion
Tennessee Walking Horse.
After winning in 2021 as a four
year old, Justified Honors was such a
young horse and still progressing in
his training, John Allan knew he had
not reached his full potential. And
he did not disappoint, with another
outstanding performance in both the
preliminary and Grand Championship
classes.
Justified Honors is a big beautiful
horse that loves what he is doing and
seems to just keep giving.
Of course spectators are already
wondering if they will bring him back
in 2023. He will spend the year being
a great ambassador for the breed with
exhibitions and patiently taking all the
attention given from all young and old
fans he encounters.
The Dr. Jim Baum family a very
proud of their two time World Grand
Champion and thank everyone for all
their kind comments and encourage-
ment during this journey.

TWHYA Summer Splash
On Saturday, August 13, the Tennessee Walking
Horse Youth Association (TWHYA) held its fourth
Annual Summer Splash Horse Show at S.W. Beech Me-
morial Field, in Belfast, Tennessee. The show offers all
youth under-saddle classes as well as open, youth, am-

raised at this show help to fund all TWHYA activities
throughout the year.
TWHYA members do all the work associated with
the show, such as soliciting sponsorships, selecting
awards, hiring officials, setting up the show, and clean-
ing up afterwards. TWHYA members even participate
as show officials. This year, Hardison Greene took over La Patrona and La Diamante.
the duties of announcing the show. Corbin Parker and
his equine partner, Obey My Command, presented the
American Flag. Tucker Johnson fulfilled the duties of
ring master. Leilani Landon did an excellent job coor-
dinating the night’s ribbon and trophy presenters.
Congratulations to all the winners.

The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association, is proud to encourage youth
riders learning and becoming proficient at the canter. It is a great way for our industry to regain the
canter, and to reward our youth for achieving excellence at this level.
Youth Medallion classes will be offered at various horse shows throughout the year. There will be
two divisions, performance and pleasure, each division with its own end-of-year award. Riders will
receive points determined by their placings in these two divisions, with the rider accumulating the
most points in each division receiving an educational scholarship valued at $500.00. Payout for Me-
dallion classes are a medallion and money as follows $100, $75, $50, $40, $30.
Guidelines for the Youth Medallion Classes:
• Open to all youth riders, age 17 and under (age as of January 1).
• Ownership of the horse is not required. Stallions are not allowed.
• Classes are for Flat-Shod and padded Performance Show Horses, performing all three gaits - flat
walk, running walk, and canter.
• The rider, not the horse, accumulates points awarded for placing and participating in the class.
Therefore, riders are not required to show the same horse throughout the season.
Any horse show interested in offering medallion classes should contact TWHBEA at
(931) 359-0592. Affiliation forms are available at twhbea.com under Youth Forms.
