Leading Young Horse Sire’s Statistics for 2019
Statistics of the production of a stallion give you a true measure of how well a stallion is
reproducing his talent. To better see how the leading stallions measure up we analyzed
the stallions production compared to his offspring’s success in the show ring.
The resulting tables are for Tennessee Walking Horses shown as 2, 3 and 4 year olds in
2019 ONLY. For a sire to be recognized, he had to have at least 4 different ribbon-
winning offspring in these age groups combined. Some stallion listed may only have 2
year olds and some 2 and 3 year olds only, etcetera.
Open and Amateur classes designated for horses 2, 3, or 4 years old were combined in
these statistics. Flat shod classes designated for 4 and under were also included.
Each sire is grouped according to their production volume. They are listed in the order of
percentage of get successful in the show ring. The columns on first page of the statistics
are as follows; production group, sire name, total points won by get in 2019, total ribbons
won by get in 2019, average points per get in 2019 and the leading point earners for each
stallion in the padded classifications and the flat shod classifications also listed with the
dam’s sire of each.
The columns of the second page are production group, sire name, year first foal born,
number of ribbon winning get in 2019, total registered get born from 10/01/2014 thru
9/30/2017, The percentage of total get successful in the show ring, the number of padded
ribbon winning get and the number of flat shod ribbon winning get. We also included this
year data showing each stallion’s get showing in the 2,3,&4 year old classes at the
Celebration including World Grand Champions, World Champions and Total Celebration
Ribbons won by get in 2019.
This data can give a breeder a snapshot of stallions in comparison to others under the
same criteria. Its always good to take this information and combine it with conversations
of those most knowledgeable with the stallion and their offspring.
Again, all of these statistics are only for those classes, that a sire’s offspring were
shown under saddle that were designated as a 4-year-old or under class.
Data sources were, TWHBEA Premium Ipeds, The Walking Horse Report Online
“Stallion Report” and “Progeny Search”.

TWHBEA Member Shares His
Tennessee Walking Horse Story
As a TWHBEA member, I thought this may be
an interesting little article on the non-traditional
activities of Mykonos, my 10 year old Tennessee
Walking Horse.
Annually I participate in the Battle of Savannah
(October 1779) march and dedication ceremony,
portraying Revolutionary War Gen. K. Pulaski and
representing one of the participating American
units, the Pulaski Legion. In previous years, the
sponsors forbade the participation of live animals,
thus I had to march on foot. Guests commented
that it looked a bit odd for the Father of the Amer-
ican cavalry be unmounted. This year I received
approval for the participation of 2 mounted re-en-
actors. The march and ceremony have black pow-
der cannon and musket firing, requiring Mykonos
to become accustomed to loud up-close gun fire.
My wife, Camille and I traveled to Broxton Bridge,
S. Carolina, where Russell Dobson agreed to help
train Mykonos over a period of several weekends.
Russell’s horse, John Henry is also a TWH (al-
though undocumented) and is a seasoned veteran
of numerous Civil War re-enactments. Mykonos
did excellent for his first ceremony as both Rus-
sell (representing Gen. Pulaski’s aide-de-camp, Lt.
Charles Litomski) with John Henry and I made a
big impression on those in attendance. In addition,
Mykonos has often gone fox hunting, loves trail
rides and is becoming an accomplished jumper.
His attitude is very positive in learning new activ-
ities and we feel he is a tribute to the versatility of
his breed.
Thanks.
