TAJUK: ROBOT Florancia anak Jelin (4SN) Seperti hari indah yang biasa, jam locengku yang berada di sisi katil meraung-raung dengan tidak hentinya. Itulah tugas harian jam locengku yang setia membuatku terbangun dari tidur yang nyenyak. Aku bangun dari tilam dan bantal empukku untuk bersiap sedia ke sekolah. Dengan langkah sedikit malas, aku bangun menuju ke jendela yang berada di sebelah meja solekku. Aku buka perlahan-lahan daun jendela lalu, menghirup udara pagi yang segar. Sinaran matahari pagi itu juga memancar ke arah wajahku. Aku tersenyum dan bermonolog sendiri, ‘indahnya ciptaan Tuhan’. Kedengaran juga kicauan burung yang sepertinya sedang mendendangkan lagu-lagu merdu dengan suara yang sungguh lembut membuat senyumku semakin melebar. Aku merasa seolah-olah diriku adalah watak Cinderella dalam cerita dongeng kanakkanak. “Aurora!” laungan ibu yang cukup kuat memanggil namaku memecahkan ‘watak Cinderellaku’. “Ah, suara ibu!. Itu tandanya aku akan lewat,” bisikku sendiri. Tanpa melengahkan masa, aku terus mengambil tuala mandi lalu menuju ke bilik mandi. Seperti biasa, bilik mandi adalah studio kecilku. Lagu kegemaranku iaitu Is There Someone Else? nyayian The Weeknd menjadi pilihanku pada pagi itu. Selesai sahaja mandi, aku mengenakan uniform sekolah yang sangat bersih dan rapi yang telah aku siapkan malam tadi. Beberapa minit kemudian, kedengaran lagi suara ibuku yang memanggil-manggil namaku dari arah dapur untuk turun bersarapan bersama-sama dengannya dan juga abangku, Vince. "Aurora, cepat turun bersarapan bersama kami, nak! Ibu tidak mahu kamu terlambat ke sekolah!" laungan tegas tapi lembut dari ibuku. Lalu, aku segera turun menuju ke ruang makan. Ketika menikmati sarapan yang sederhana namun enak yang disediakan oleh ibu, aku menanyakan soalan kepada abangku. "Abang Vince, abang rasa apa yang akan terjadi jika teknologi seperti robot mengambil alih dunia kita?" tanyaku dengan muka yang ingin tahu namun, berharap Vince memberi pendapat atau jawapan yang bernas dari persoalan yang aku utarakan. Abangku memandang ke arahku sambil mengunyah makanan dengan agak cepat. Beberapa saat kemudian, Vince menyahut pertanyaanku dengan santai, "Entahlah dik. Bagi pendapat abang akibatnya mungkin sangat teruk. Kebarangkalian populasi hidupan seperti manusia di bumi akan berkurangan. Namun begitu, dengan adanya robot dapat meringankan dan memudahkan kerja-kerja kita sebagai manusia. Tengok sahaja rumah kita. Mesin basuh di ruang laundry telah memudahkan kerja -kerja membasuh baju. Di mana pada zaman tiadanya mesin basuh, manusia membasuh sendiri menggunakan tangan. Bayangkan kalau ahli keluarga yang ramai, sudah tentu pekerjaan itu sungguh memenatkan. Namun, dengan terciptanya mesin basuh kerja-kerja yang memenatkan itu boleh menjadi mudah. Pakaian yang kotor dimasukkan di dalam mesin basuh dan kita cuma menekan butang start. Secara automatik mesin tersebut bergerak untuk membersihkan pakaian tersebut sehingga proses pengeringan. Bukan itu sahaja, dalam masa yang sama kita boleh melakukan kerja rumah yang lain sementara menunggu pakaian tersebut dibasuh dan dikeringkan oleh mesin basuh tersebut. Betul tak ibu?,” tanya Vince kepada ibu sambil menoleh ke arah ibu. Ibu yang sedang menghirup teh panas cuma mengangguk tanda setuju dengan penjelasan dari Vince.
“Bukankah robot seperti mesin basuh telah memudahkan kerja kita?" tanya Vince dan memandang ke arahku. Mendengar jawapan dan penerangan dari Vince serta pertanyaan di akhir penjelasannya, membuat otakku ligat memikirkan betapa hebatnya robot. Aku meneruskan menikmati sarapan yang disediakan oleh ibu dengan cepat kerana tidak ingin terlewat ke sekolah. Selesai sahaja bersarapan, aku mengayuh basikalku dengan momentum kelajuan yang agak laju ke sekolah dengan azam yang tinggi bagi mencapai impianku iaitu, saintis muda. Dalam perjalanan aku menuju ke sekolah, seperti biasa Mak Cik Lee yang aku kenal sejak kecil menyapaku. "Selamat pagi Aurora! Kamu kelihatan sangat cantik hari ini!" sapa Mak Cik Lee yang tersenyum manis. Mak Cik Lee ialah seorang penjaja yang menjual sayur. Dia seorang yang sangat peramah. Mendengar pujian Mak Cik Lee, aku tersipu-sipu malu sambil menunjukkan senyuman yang kukira manis kepada Mak Cik Lee. Apabila aku berada di lorong antara tempat Mak Cik Lee menjual sayur dan sebuah bangunan tua untuk menuju ke sekolahku, Pak Cik Ben yang menjual makanan ringan dengan menggunakan basikal menyapa aku. “Selamat pagi, Aurora,” sapa Pak Cik Ben. Aku berhenti. “Selamat pagi, pakcik,” Aku membalas sapaan Pak Cik Ben dengan ramah. Niatku, aku ingin membeli makanan ringan yang dijual oleh Pak Cik Ben iaitu keropok kentang untuk dimakan pada waktu rehat di sekolah nanti. Apabila kulihat jam tanganku, potensi untuk aku lewat sampai ke sekolah adalah tinggi. Tanpa berfikir panjang aku membatalkan niatku tadi. Namun, fikiranku masih berfikir apakah perkara yang akan terjadi jika robot menggantikan semua penduduk bumi. ‘Adakah basikal Pak Cik Lee dan basikal yang sedang aku kayuh ini juga robot?,’ aku bermonolog sendiri. Dalam masa yang sama, aku meneruskan kayuhan basikalku hingga ke sekolah. Tiba di sekolah, aku terus menuju ke kelas dan duduk di tempatku. Aku termenung sejenak sambil fikiranku melayang dengan pertanyaan yang aku ajukan kepada abangku, Vince tadi. Aku benarbenar ingin tahu perkara yang akan terjadi sekiranya manusia diganti oleh robot-robot yang canggih. Walaupun Vince telah memberi contoh mesin basuh dan penjelasan yang munasabah namun, bagaimana dengan robot-robot lain? Bagaimana pula sekiranya robotrobot ini meyerupai manusia dan membuat kerja-kerja yang dibuat manusia seperti mana filem-filem barat iaitu Im Robot, I Robot Clip, Transformers dan Terminator?,” bisikku sendiri. Lamunanku terhenti apabila loceng sekolah berbunyi. Ini tandanya kelas Cikgu Jack akan bermula sebentar lagi. Cikgu Jack masuk ke kelas dengan penuh bersemangat seperti hari-hari biasa. Pelajar-pelajar kelas 4 Sains 1 berdiri tegak, “Selamat pagi Cikgu Jack.” Laungan hormat namun sederhana dari kelas kami kepada Cikgu Jack. Cikgu Jack menulis topik yang akan diajar pada hari itu di papan putih iaitu, teknologi. Topik tersebut agak menarik perhatian aku. Cikgu Jack walaupun berbangsa cina namun bahasa Melayu beliau sungguh bagus dan sempurna. Kalau tak begitu takkan boleh jadi guru Bahasa Melayu yang hebat. Beliau menerangkan dengan jelas kehebatan teknologi yang boleh mencipta pelbagai mesin untuk perkembangan ekonomi dan memudahkan kerja-kerja manusia. Cikgu Jack juga menekankan betapa penting dan bagusnya pendidikan STEM iaitu, Science, Technology, Engienering and Mathematics. Namun begitu, Cikgu Jack juga menjelaskan keburukan teknologi sekiranya kebergantungan terhadap teknologi-teknologi tersebut tidak dikawal. Selesai Cikgu Jack membuat penerangan, aku menanyakan satu soalan kepada Cikgu Jack. "Cikgu, apakah yang akan terjadi sekiranya robot mengambil alih dunia kita?" tanyaku kepada Cikgu Jack.
Reaksi dari rakan-rakan sekelasku ada yang tertawa dan ada yang menunjukkan mimik muka yang menjengkelkan. Cikgu Jack menjawab, "Kemungkinan akibatnya agak teruk jika kita tidak mengawal penggunaan robot, Aurora! Semua manusia akan diklonkan oleh robot. Mungkin manusia tidak akan wujud lagi pada masa akan datang! Walaupun robotrobot ini boleh melakukan kerja-kerja manusia namun, dari pandangan manusiawi mungkin ramai manusia akan menjadi malas dan kurang produktif. Mungkin juga tiada pekerjaan. Hal ini kerana banyak kerja-kerja manusia akan diambil alih oleh robot. Walaupun, teknologi seperti robot atau mesin dikawal oleh manusia kerana manusia yang menciptakannya namun, terlalu bergantung terhadap robot juga perlu dikawal demi keseimbangan alam dan kehidupan sebagai manusia." jelas Cikgu Jack panjang lebar. Setelah mendengar penerangan tersebut, barulah aku sedar bahawa walaupun teknologi mempunyai banyak kebaikan namun teknologi juga mampu memberi impak buruk sekiranya tidak dikawal dan jika disalahgunakan. Tidak mustahil suatu hari nanti populasi manusia akan pupus di muka bumi. Setelah tamat waktu persekolahan, aku terus pulang menuju ke rumah. Sampai sahaja di rumah, aku terus mandi untuk menyegarkan badanku. Petang itu, aku berasa sangat penat. Aku melabuhkan punggungku lalu baring di atas sofa sambil mencari drama atau movie yang bertemakan robot di you tube. Drama Korea 109 Strange Things menarik perhatianku. Drama ini mengisah tentang robot dari masa depan yang datang untuk membantu setiap kesulitan yang dialami seorang mahasiswa cantik. Baru sahaja dua episod, penglihatanku menjadi gelap tanpa sedar aku terlelap. Beberapa jam kemudian, aku terjaga dari tidurku. Apabila aku melihat di sekelilingku, aku berasa agak pelik kerana aku berada di tempat dudukku di kelas 4 Sains 1. Aku menyapa dan bertanya kawanku Nadhirah yang duduk disebelahku, "Nad, kenapa kau tidak mengejutkan aku?" Nadhirah cuma mengangkat bahunya tanpa menoleh ke arahku. Aku berbisik sendiri, ‘mungkin Nadhirah memberi tumpuan sepenuhnya apa yang diajar Cikgu Jack. Eh, bukankah masa Cikgu Jack telah tamat!’ Setelah itu, aku cuba sedaya upaya untuk memberi sepenuh perhatian dalam kelas. Namun, perasaanku tiba-tiba merasa sesuatu yang janggal dalam kelasku. Aku merasakan Cikgu Jack, guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu yang sedang mengajar di hadapan kelas dan kawan-kawanku tidak sekali pun mengedipkan mata mereka sepanjang sesi pembelajaran. Aku bermonolog bahawa mungkin itu firasat aku sahaja. Aku berasa lebih pelik kerana bukan setakat mereka tidak mengedipkan mata malah pergerakan mereka juga sangat berbeza. Pergerakan mereka tersebut mengingatkan aku kepada satu teknologi iaitu robot. Aku yakin bahawa mereka telah diklonkan oleh robot. Ketika sesi pembelajaran tersebut, aku berpura-pura tidak tahu bahawa mereka ialah robot. Aku berasa sangat seram apabila berada di sekeliling robotrobot tersebut. Dalam hati aku, aku hanya perlu bertahan sejam lagi untuk segera pulang ke rumah. Setelah selesai sesi pembelajaran, tanpa melengahkan masa aku mengayuh basikalku dengan momentum yang kukira paling laju. Dalam perjalanan pulang ke rumah, aku terserempak dengan Pak Cik Ben. Dia tidak menegurku seperti biasa malah, dia melihat ke arahku dengan pandangan yang sangat berbeza dari sebelum ini. Perkara yang sama juga terjadi apabila aku terserempak dengan Mak Cik Lee. Aku berasa sangat takut kerana aku tahu bahawa itu bukan Mak Cik Lee tetapi robot. Tanpa berfikir panjang, aku meninggalkan Mak Cik Lee yang masih memandangku tanpa kedipan mata sekali pun. Lantaran itu, aku teringat akan ibu dan abangku yang berada di rumah. Aku mempercepatkan kayuhan basikalku agar segera sampai ke rumah.
Sampai sahaja di perkarangan rumah, aku segera meluru masuk ke rumah. Aku berasa lega apabila melihat ibu dan abangku duduk di sofa di ruang tamu sedang menonton rancangan televisyen kegemaran mereka. Walaupun begitu, aku berasa pelik kerana mereka tidak menyapaku. Seolah-olah kepulanganku tidak disedari oleh mereka. ‘Adakah mereka tidak sedar akan kepulanganku,’ bisikku. Aku mengatur langkah kakiku mendekati mereka. Aku merasa amat terkejut ketika mereka memusingkan kepala mereka sembilan puluh darjah tanpa menggerakkan sedikit pun anggota badan mereka yang lain. Setahu aku, perkara tersebut hanya dapat dilakukan oleh robot. Aku menjerit ketakutan disebabkan oleh pergerakan mereka itu. Aku ingin lari keluar dari rumahku tetapi kakiku seolah-olah telah lumpuh kerana terlalu takut. Aku hanya terduduk di lantai sambil menangis ketakutan. Ibu dan abangku yang merupakan sebahagian daripada robot menghampiri aku sambil memandangku dengan pandangan yang agak seram. Dengan serentak mereka menyebut namaku tanpa kedipan mata, “Aurora! Aurora!.” Aku menjerit ketakutan sambil menutup mukaku. Pada masa itu, aku terdengar suara seorang wanita yang sungguh lembut memanggil namaku. "Aurora, Aurora!,” panggil wanita itu. “Aurora, bangun nak!,” panggil wanita itu sekali lagi dengan nada yang sedikit tinggi. Apabila aku membuka mata, aku sedar itu hanyalah mimpi. Suara wanita yang memanggilku tadi ialah suara ibu. Aku terus memeluk ibuku sambil menangis teresak-esak. Abangku juga berada di situ. Ibu dan abangku menenangkan aku. Vince memberitahu aku bahawa aku menjerit dan menangis seperti orang kerasukkan. Setelah aku bertenang, aku menceritakan mimpiku kepada ibu dan abangku, Vince. Aku berasa sangat bersyukur kerana dunia ini belum lagi dikuasai mesinmesin berteknologi tinggi iaitu yang kupanggil robot. Aku berharap dunia ini tidak akan diambil alih oleh robot. Jika dunia ini diambil oleh teknologi seperti robot, kehidupan manusia akan musnah buat selama-lamanya. Namun, sebagai manusia kita juga memerlukan teknologi seperti robot untuk meringankan beban manusia dan menyelesaikan masalah yang tidak dapat dilakukan oleh manusia. “Aurora, Aurora!” panggil ibu menghentikan monologku.
DI SEBALIK INDUSTRI PELANCONGAN KESIHATAN DI MALAYSIA OLEH : MOHD RIFQI (4 SAINS) Dalam melangkah ke era modenisasi ini, Malaysia antara negara yang semakin hampir untuk merealisasikan sebuah negara yang berkembang pesat di persada antarabangsa. Ekoran itu, Malaysia turut mengambil tempat untuk meningkatkan industri pelancongan kesihatan melalui pelbagai wahana. Pelancongan kesihatan dapat ditakrifkan sebagai lawatan atau melancong ke sesebuah negara sambil menjalani rawatan atau untuk mendapatkan rawatan. Namun demikian, isu yang sering diterbitkan dalam hal ini ialah apakah kepentingan pelancongan kesihatan di Malaysia? Untuk menempuhi segala cabaran hidup yang mencabar, sumber kewangan merupakan salah satu perkara yang maslahat untuk meneruskan kelangsungan hidup umat manusia. Oleh itu, dengan wujudnya industri yang berkembang ini mampu menyediakan peluang pekerjaan yang luas untuk semua individu tanpa mengira bangsa, agama mahupun warna kulit. Negara kita menawarkan pelbagai perkhidmatan rawatan di hospital swasta contohnya, Kuching Speacialist Hospital, KPJ Kuching Speacialist Hospital, Borneo Medical Centre dan Timberland Medical Centre. Penubuhan hospital - hospital ini akan membuka peluang kepada semua pihak untuk menggalas jawatan sebagai ahli Persatuan Hospital Swasta (ADHM), Persatuan Kualiti Kesihatan Malaysia (MSQH) dan mengikut ISO serta ketetapan antarabangsa. Tambahan pula, Persatuan Hospital Swasta juga menawarkan tenaga kerja paling kurang lima puluh katil. Tenaga kerja amatlah amatlah diperlukan bagi mengurus dan merawat penyakit - penyakit yang tertentu. Tegasnya, perkhidmatan seperti saringan perubatan, pembedahan komestik, diagnostik, kardiologi, oftamologi, pembedahan saraf dan ginekologi mampu menyediakan peluang pekerjaan yang dinamik. Seterusnya, peningkatan industri ini juga berkebolehan menarik kehadiran pelancong asing untuk menerima rawatan yang tiada di negara lain. Dengan kata lain, kehadiran mereka dapat menjana tukaran wang asing. Menurut laporan Ekonomi pada 2019 dan 2020 yang dikeluarkan oleh pihak kerajaan, ketibaan pelancong kesihatan melonjak hampir sepuluh kali ganda daripada 39 114 orang pada tahun 1998 kepada 374 063 pada 2018 dan jumpah yang dijana daripada peningakatan itu adaah daripada RM14.1 juta kepada RM299.1 juta. Pada masa yang sama, kita boleh mempromosikan kelebihan industri pelancongan kesihatan di Malaysia dengan lebih meluas apabila kehadiran pengunjung dari luar negara semakin ramai contohnya pengunjung dari Amerika Syarikat, Kanada, Timur Tengah dan Bangladesh. Oleh hal demikian, kita juga berpotensi untuk membuang rasa keraguan daripada individu di negara lain yang tidak yakin terhadap kualiti industri kesihatan di Malaysia justeru menggamit lebih banyak penganjung kerana bak kata cendekiawan, lain padang lain belalang. Bukan itu sahaja, Malaysia pernah digambarkan sebagai destinasi pilihan untuk berubat sambil melancong. Dalam perkara ini, tempat penubuhan sesebuah hospital juga merupakan satu strategi bagi menarik perhatian pelancong asing. Hospital kebiasaannya akan dibina di tempat yang banyak kemudahan infrastruktur dan di kawasan tarikan pelancong. Di samping itu, tidak dapat dinafikan bahawa pelaburan dalam industri pelancongan kesihatan pasti membawa kepada pulangan yang menguntungkan. Pentingnya di sini, hasil daripada pelaburan berpotensi untuk menjana sumber ekonomi dan pendapatan negara.
Menerusi pengembangan operasi serta industri yang maju, pihak kerjaan berkeyakinan untuk memperoleh hasil sebanyak RM2 bilion setahun pada 2022. Memandangkan negara kita, Malaysia berjaya menggamit pelancong asing untuk memilih rawatan di sini, kerajaan akan menyediakan cukai yang tertentu buat mereka. Pengangkutan yang mereka gunakan seperti Light Rail Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT), bas ekspres, bas henti-henti, teksi dan juga kereta sewa turut merupakan strategi kerajaan dalam mengenakan cukai. Hotel-hotel yang mempunyai lokasi berdekatan dengan hospital juga merupakan strategi ampuh untuk mendapatkan pelancong asing memilih hotel mereka sebagai lokasi penginapan. Tidak lupa dengan kos-kos makanan yang dibelanjakan oleh mereka iaitu membeli barang-barang di pasar raya atau pergi ke restoran untuk mengisi perut. Dalam pada itu, pelancong asing ini juga harus membayar Visitors International Stay Admission (VISA) untuk mengesahkan kehadiran mereka di negara kita. Natijahnya, keputusan atau cadangan kerajaan untuk meningkatkan industri pelancongan kesihatan di Malaysia telah membawa kepada transformasi ekonomi negara yang berkembang dan stabil. Tidak hanya dengan itu, rekod individu di Malaysia yang tidak mempunyai pekerjaan juga berjaya dikurangkan apabila sektor ini memerlukan tenaga kerja yang banyak. Dalam konteks ini, semua pihak mestilah berganding bahu dalam usaha memajukan Malaysia sebagai sumber perubatan yang utama di dunia. Lantaran daripada itu, diharapkan dengan wujudnya sektor ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh rakyat Malaysia sendiri. PENGLIBATAN MURID DALAM KERJA KHIDMAT MASYARAKAT ; MENGAPA SEMAKIN LESU? Oleh Eryne Chieng Jin Yan (5 Sains) Dalam menongkah arus modenisasi ini, program khidmat masyarakat banyak dianjurkan oleh badan kerajaan atau badan bukan kerajaan. Kerja khidmat masyarakat telah mendatangkan pelbagai faedah seperti meringankan bebanan dan mewujudkan kesejahteraan kepada komuniti tertentu. Kalau kita lihat sekarang, isu murid-murid yang sering alpa dan memandang enteng terhadap kerja khidmat masyarakat turut menjadi topik yang dititikberatkan oleh lapisan masyarakat. Keadaan ini membimbangkan kita kerana jika dibiarkan , sudah pasti anak murid akan bersifat hedonistik dan individualistik pada suatu ketika nanti. Justeru, semua pihak seyogianya mengambil tahu punca kekurangan penglibatan murid dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat dan seterusnya berganding bahu untuk mengelakkan masalah ini menjadi seperti api dalam sekam. Punca prima murid kurang melibatkan diri dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat ialah impak ledakan teknologi. Langkah untuk mengatasinya ialah memberikan pendedahan kepada kerja-kerja kemasyarakatan pada usia muda. Hal ini dikatakan demikian kerana murid-murid boleh mengetahui aktiviti kemasyarakatan yang sebenarnya sudah lama beroperasi di negara Malaysia. Murid-murid akan terdedah kepada manfaat kerja khidmat masyarakat dan melahirkan kesedaran diri tentang kepentinganya. Pendedahan awal ini juga akan menimbulkan perasaan simpati dalam murid terhadap orang yang dalam kesusahan. Contohnya , Portal Rasmi Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) menganjurkan aktiviti pembersihan di kediaman mangsa banjir yang melibatkan warga Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) menjadi sukarelawan. Selain itu, amalan ringan tulang membantu orang lain akan dipupuk dalam diri sejak kecil lagi bak kata pepatah melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya. Oleh itu , murid-murid sanggup menumpukan masa dan tenaga mereka untuk menjalankan aktiviti kemasyarakatan. Jelaslah bahawa memberikan pendedahan kepada kerja-kerja kemasyarakatan pada usia muda merupakan langkah untuk mengatasi impak ledakan teknologi yang mengakibatkan murid kurang melibatkan diri dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat.
Selain itu , murid kurang melibatkan diri dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat disebabkan oleh tekanan dan harapan ibu bapa dalam bidang akademik. Murid-murid tiada masa dan peluang melibatkan diri dalam aktiviti kemasyarakatan untuk merealisasikan harapan ibu bapa yang tinggi. Langkah untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah mengadakan kempen kesukarelawan dalam kalangan remaja secara berterusan. Hal ini begitu kerana muridmurid akan menguruskan masa dengan baik supaya dapat melibatkan diri dalam aktiviti kemasyarakatan tanpa mengabaikan pencapaian akademik setelah mengetahui kebaikannya melalui kempen tersebut. Kerja khidmat masyarakat mampu meningkatkan perkembangan murid dalam aspek nilai murni, minat dan kecenderungan serta pembentukan sahsiah. Contohnya, aktiviti khidmat masyarakat di Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Kelantan (PEKA YATIM) yang mendedahkan pelajar kepada pengaplikasian pengetahuan, kemahiran dan nilai sivik serta kewarganegaraan di luar bilik darjah. Oleh itu , murid-murid mudah mendapatkan sokongan ibu bapa untuk menyertai kerja khidmat masyarakat. Tegasnya , kempen kesukarelawan dalam kalangan remaja secara berterusan boleh mengatasi masalah kekurangan penglibatan murid dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat yang disebabkan oleh tekanan dan harapan ibu bapa dalam bidang akademik. Seterusnya , kekurangan penglibatan murid dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat dipengaruhi oleh tindak-tanduk golongan dewasa atau ibu bapa yang sibuk dengan urusan sendiri. Cara yang konkrit serta pragmatik untuk mengatasinya ialah pihak sekolah menjalankan program kesukarelawan sebagai aktiviti kokurikulum. Hal ini disebabkan oleh murid-murid mesti mengimbangi pencapaian akademik dan kokurikulum. Pihak sekolah perlulah memberikan mata penglibatan yang tinggi kepada murid yang melibatkan diri dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat untuk menarik minat murid melibatkan diri dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat. Sedasawarsa ini , kejayaan murid dilihat secara holistik dan bukan semata-mata berdasarkan prestasi dalam bidang akademik sahaja. Sebagai contoh, mata penglibatan kokurikulum telah menjadi salah satu kriteria melayakkan murid memasuki Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT). Penglibatan pelajar dalam aktiviti kokurikulum diambil kira dengan sistem sepuluh peratus dalam permohonan kemasukan ke Institusi Pengajian Tinggi. Oleh itu, murid dapat memberi tumpuan yang seimbang dalam aktiviti kokurikulum. Tambahan pula, Ibu bapa menjalan tanggungjawab mereka untuk menghantar anak-anak ke tempat kerja khidmat masyarakat. Sesungguhnya, pihak sekolah menjalankan program kesukarelawan sebagai aktiviti kokurikulum mampu mengatasi masalah kekurangan penglibatan murid dalam kerja khidmat masyarakat yang dipengaruhi oleh tindak-tanduk golongan dewasa atau ibu bapa yang sibuk dengan urusan sendiri. Kesimpulannya, murid-murid harus peka akan kerja khidmat masyarakat yang mendatangkan banyak manfaat dan sentiasa bersedia untuk melibatkan diri. Oleh itu , saya mencadangkan setiap pihak harus menggembleng tenaga bagai aur dengan tebing untuk menggerakkan aktiviti kerja khidmat masyarakat. Dengan ini, masyarakat hidup bersatu padu dan negara menjadi aman dan harmoni kerana banyak orang sanggup menghulurkan bantuan kepada orang yang mengalami kesusahan tanpa mengira budaya dan kaum.
The Most Inspiring Teacher I Have Had Written by Ridgley Tiaw Hui (5Sn) Time flies and memory just comes and goes. I believe that everyone has encountered their most inspiring teacher at some point, and I can confidently say that I have as well. He is my former form teacher and additional mathematics teacher, our late Mr. Lui. Allow me to share what sets him apart as the teacher who truly inspires me the most during my time at school. He is a great teacher and what is so interesting about him is that he never gives up teaching our class in additional mathematics subject. Whenever his students need help with the subject, he never scolds or gets mad at them and just continues to teach his beloved students, hoping his students will score well in the challenging subject. He holds great expectations for us to excel not only in additional mathematics but also in all our other subjects. Not just that, Mr Lui also believes in us that everyone can become better or even the best in academics. He tried his very best to ensure that we, as a class, actively kept up with the topics and chapters. He would try to make his class more interesting by making jokes which never fail to make us laugh. As a result, I often feel less stressed and can maintain better focus during his lessons. I still remember in our first Linear Law lesson, he asked us out of the blue what is the first thing that we should do before attempting the question. No one gave the correct answer. In a composed and collected manner, Mr. Lui suggested, "You should get a ruler.” The response elicited laughter from all of us! In short, Mr Lui is a focused and fun teacher to learn with. When I was in Form 4, I had this fear that he might become upset with me when I failed my additional mathematics. For those who are unaware of my score in his subject at that time, I only managed to obtain a total of 4 marks, and I felt quite embarrassed about it. On the day when my parents came to school to receive the results, to my surprise, he did not say anything discouraging that would demotivate me from improving in the subject next time. Instead, he encouraged me to approach him with any questions if I ever find myself struggling to grasp the topics he teaches. I have never seen such a kind and patient teacher as Mr Lui. Here's a touching story that deeply inspired me about Mr. Lui: Despite being sick, he never gave up on teaching our class. Whether it was a struggling student like me or someone excelling in his subject, he remained dedicated to ensuring the class achieved a balanced and high standard of learning. Even when he was already feeling unwell, he continued teaching until he became too weak to carry on. That is what makes him so inspiring to me. As time passed, his illness grew more severe, and he had to take an extended leave from teaching our class. News about his critical condition spread among the teachers and students, including myself. We were very worried about him and hoped for his speedy recovery so that he could return to teaching our class with the same enthusiasm and joy as before. A few months later, his condition worsened, and he was diagnosed with an incurable cancer. Both students and teachers earnestly wished and prayed for his recovery, hoping he would bravely fight the illness and return to teaching us, especially for the enjoyable additional mathematics classes we cherished. Sadly, despite our hopes, he passed away this year in 2023 after battling the illness for an extended period. Accepting his death has been difficult for me, considering the profound impact his lessons had on our class. He is deeply missed by his students and colleagues. Now, we could not do anything much but pray for him and continue working hard for our SPM even in his absence. I believe that is what he wished for us, and we will try our best to make him proud. In conclusion, Mr Lui really inspires me a lot to do my best and persevere in all aspects of life, not just academics. Mr Lui holds a unique place in my life, as he is the one that has changed my life and my academic outlook. I hope his story will also inspire everyone to do the same in order to become a better version of themselves and achieving greater heights in life. P.S.: As a memento, I am blessed to have Mr Lui’s ruler with me. =D

It is a natural inclination to ascribe their achievements to an inherent intelligence, which may lead you to believe you would never perform as well as them no matter how hard you try. Unfortunately, as human beings, we often seek refuge in excuses when we are faced with failure instead of confronting the underlying issues. In fact, success is not solely determined by innate intelligence, but also by consistent effort, effective study techniques, and a growth mindset. Others can perform well in their exams after implementing study tips, similarly, you too could achieve your academic goals by consistently following these study tips. First and foremost, maintaining focus while studying is crucial. It enables you to comprehend and retain what you learn. Many students face similar challenges when it comes to maintaining focus in a home environment. If you are one of them, it would be advisable to distance yourself from distractions like television and smartphones while studying. Personally, I prefer turning off phone notifications to avoid interruptions from instant messages. If I still encounter difficulty concentrating, I will set a timer for the study session and motivate myself to complete all the tasks within that allocated period. I find this method useful for me as it creates a sense of urgency and prevents my mind from wandering. However, it is essential to note that long study sessions without breaks can lead to burnout and decreased focus. Therefore, incorporating short breaks at regular intervals using a timer can help you recharge and maintain your focus over a more extended period. Furthermore, another valuable study tip is to cultivate a genuine interest in studying. Finding interest in your academic pursuits can transform learning from a source of stress into an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. A study group can help you practise this interest, but it is essential to choose study partners wisely by selecting those who possess a diligent and hardworking nature. An effective study group comprises members who actively share knowledge, exchange ideas, and reinforce each other's understanding of various subjects. For instance, I have formed a study group with friends who also have a strong eagerness to learn. The great thing is that each of us takes turns acting as a peer tutor for the others. As a result, this helps me enhance my own comprehension when I explain concepts to others. On the other hand, choosing friends who are lazy and have negative attitudes towards studying can be detrimental, as their influence may affect you easily. In the long run, you may also find studying monotonous and eventually lose interest in academic pursuits. Hence, it is essential to be discerning when choosing study partners and ensure that they contribute positively to your learning journey. When it comes to improving your academic performance, remember that "Rome wasn't built in a day." Just like the ancient city was not constructed overnight, enhancing your skills and knowledge through practice also takes time and consistent effort. It is recommended to keep practising by doing exercises, especially exam-like questions, as many as possible. I have incorporated various exercises into my morning routine to enhance my academic abilities. For instance, before going to school, I regularly work on math problems from previous lessons and attempt challenging practice quizzes that align with the upcoming exams. Thus, this consistent practice has significantly improved my problem-solving skills and helped me grasp complex mathematical concepts more efficiently. In addition, it will also boost my confidence during exams as the familiar territory of exam-like questions will bring about a comforting feeling of ease to me. Amidst these challenges, one vital lesson has emerged as the most significant which is the power of perseverance and the importance of never giving up. The power of perseverance refers to the ability and determination to continue striving towards one’s goals, despite facing challenges, setbacks or difficulties. It is the strength of character that enables an individual to stay committed to their pursuits, maintain a positive mindset, and persistently work towards achieving success, even in the face of obstacles or moments of self-doubt. Never giving up does not mean that failure and hardships are avoided altogether. Instead, it means that when faced with difficulties, I choose to confront them head-on with a positive mindset and unwavering determination. As a student, I have faced demanding homework, daunting exams, and periods of academic struggle. During such times, the temptation to give up and succumb to defeat has been present. However, I have come to understand that setbacks are an inevitable part of the learning process. With the power of perseverance and never giving up, it has allowed me to see obstacles as stepping stones rather than barriers. The Western Decline Written by Christopher Renggi Bin Leonard Since the end of the Second World War, the Allies, which are led by the United States, have cemented their position as the leader of the Free World. But as the saying goes, nothing lasts forever. This is especially true for global superpowers. We have seen throughout history many powerful civilizations from the time of Christ with the Roman Empire to as recent as 1997 with the dissolution of the largest empire in history, the British Empire, it is proven time and time again that great powers will rise and fall. I would consider the beginning of the decline of US dominance came after they had lost the Vietnam War in 1975 against the Soviet-backed Viet Cong. This was the first major defeat of the US in its history. Previously, the US has emerged victorious in every conflict it has participated in. From its initial war for independence from Great Britain to a civil war against separatists to the First World War against the Kaizer. Ever since Vietnam, the US has always been involved in global conflicts, directly and indirectly. This is due to them wanting to rebuild the image of great power against rising newcomers of the 20th century like the Soviet Union and the PRC. As a result, things may have not gone in their favour. The last major military victory the US and its allies achieved was the infamous Gulf War. The US-led operation defeated Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein who had invaded the small, oil-rich, neighbouring nation of Kuwait. But ever since the Gulf War in 1989, every major military operation carried out by the US has been a disastrous failure. The first US war in the new millennia began in 2003, with the invasion of Iraq. This followed suit with the deployment of US & allied troops in Afghanistan, Syria, and several other Arab states. Nearly two onwards, the US-led efforts have failed to achieve their goal of dominance in the Middle East. In this new millennium, new powers have emerged, mostly from Asia. Japan, The People’s Republic of China (PRC), South Korea, Indonesia, and India are just a few examples of growing superpowers in both the Eastern Hemisphere and on the global stage. This is a historical breakthrough, as for the first time in history, global dominance is shifting from the West to the East. We can see this in front of our very eyes. Previously, technological advancements such as building automobiles were limited to Western corporations like Ford in the US and Mercedes-Benz in Deutschland. Today, the most successful car company in the world is Toyota, a Japanese manufacturer. Apart from that, another example is the smartphone industry. In 2007, when Apple released the iPhone, it was a technological milestone, and Apple dominated the smartphone industry. 16 years on, iPhones only make up 25% of the total global smartphone demographics. Other companies, big and small, from across the globe have made great improvements to their devices. Companies like Samsung and Xiaomi have created great competition for Apple. As Asians, we must take this opportunity to strengthen and grow our economies, develop our lands, and become self-reliant. Once we achieve these goals, we can thrive without the need for the West. It shall be the West that relies on us for survival. We are on the right path to success, while they have reached the climax and are now descending towards failure. I do not hate nor hold a grudge against the West. If it was not for the West and colonialism, we would still be living in an enclosed, underdeveloped society. They connected the world through Imperialism, only today, their dominance is slowly slipping. "We have nothing that is our own, we hold everything as a loan".
My Life By Nur Syazwana Arisyha Binti Mohamad Azizam (5Sn) “Good team got em’, good music, got em’, you said you’re hot, oh babe you’re not”… It is morning again with the same alarm for the past 2 years, it sure wakes me up from my sleep every morning at 4.50 am. Oh well, another day to go through. I wake up to take my shower. It usually takes me 20 or sometimes 30 minutes to take a shower since I am still sleepy in the morning. I mean who would not be sleepy if you went to sleep at 10 or 11 pm? After taking a shower, I will wake my father up as he also takes a long shower in the morning. The apples do not fall too far from the tree after all. My sister on the other hand starts to cook for my younger siblings for school. She does not want them to starve at school and waste money on canteen food. After dressing up, I iron my father’s and siblings’ clothes. It may be chaotic at times but we do help each other. My father usually combs my hair while I am ironing the clothes. Although sometimes he complains about how tangled my hair is in the morning, he will still comb it gently and slowly. Despite being the eldest child, I still feel loved, too much love if you ask me. I am so blessed to be born into this family. We go to school together as our father works as a teacher at our school. Every morning, after reaching our school, my father would still kiss me and my sister on the forehead even though we are already 17 and 16 years old. Some people always say that school is our second home, well I think I agree with that statement. As I am going to sit for my SPM this year, things do not seem to be as relaxing as before. My mother who is pursuing her studies in Sibu makes thing even more challenging for me. I really want to do my best in my studies. Everyone wants to get straight As in their exams, don’t they? I am no different from them. I love to hang out with my friends, but I refrain myself from doing so now because I know it is not my priority at this moment. I do sometimes imagine how it feels like to be in love but it is not the right time. However, it does not mean I do not have fun at school. I participated in a lot of competitions in school such as debate, public speaking, treasure hunt, DIY rocket competition, poem recitation and more, resulting in knowing a lot of people from different schools. Well, as I said, I really want to do my best in everything, therefore it is frustrating for me if I do not meet my expectations. I am home around 4 pm every day after school. I will then take the dirty clothes and start to do the laundry. Without mummy at home, my sister and I take turn to do the laundry and cooking. Sometimes, when we are too tired from school, we will eat out. It is a blessing to have an understanding family who agrees to do so. Now who loves to do chores such as sweeping and mopping the floor, cleaning the toilet, folding the laundry and more after having a tired day at school? I bet some even just take a nap after reaching home and just eat whatever there is on the table. I do wish to be able to do that but sometimes it is my responsibilities along with my sister to do the chores at home. It takes us at least 2 hours every day after school to do the chores. Sometimes I would cry because I am too exhausted and stressed. It is not easy at all with two younger siblings who need attention 24/7. Without our mother at home, they cling to their elder sisters. Do things get better at the weekends? In my dream. I have tuition class on Saturday, from 9 am to 12 pm, and tuition class on Sunday, from 10.30 am until 4 pm. It is stressful and frustrating. Every now and then I hope I have 2 bodies, one for studies and one for the chores. Or every so often I hope there are more than 24 hours and more than 7 days in a week. Nevertheless, it is impossible, therefore what I can do now is to just follow the flow and do my best. Despite shedding tears every now and then or feeling hopeless and frustrated, I am still a cheerful girl. That is my way to pull through my everyday life. It is a boring routine but it will be memorable not just for me but also for my family. In conclusion, my lifestyle may be tiresome sometimes, however the moments are precious and the affection is beautiful. If we only look at the forest, how can we see the beauty of the trees, flowers and scenery in the forest? Therefore, if we only focus on the hardship we are facing now, how can we learn or see the beauty of it? Live without regret and do what you think is right so that the path you are walking will always be beautiful.
Cendol Musang King by Arvel Vian Polycarp (3B) During recess, I was talking with my classmates about the food that we like to eat. Immediately, the food that popped into my mind was Cendol Musang King. Cendol Musang King cannot be found in Sarawak. Basically, it is just a normal cendol that you would find everywhere. The things that makes me fell in love with this dish is because of the durian. From my perspective, the durian elevates this dish to a whole new level. The bright yellow-coloured durian has really caught my eyes. Before it was served, I could already smell the fragrance of the durian. As soon as it was served, I immediately started drooling. The soft textured durian paired very well with the cendol. The durian’s texture was creamy and melt in my mouth. As a conclusion, the crunchy ice and the creamy durian were really a great combination. Moving on to the taste of this dish, the cendol itself was not too sweet. This made it blended nicely with the sweet Musang King. Although Musang King was sweet, when it was mixed with the cendol, the sweetness did not overwhelm the dish. Subsequently, the dish was scrumptious, refreshing and delicious. Overall, this excellent masterpiece is something I will not get bored with. Besides, it is also suitable to refresh myself especially after going through a hot and tiring day. My Favourite Pizza by Farees Farhan (3B) A dish that has been an apple of my eyes is pizza. Pizza is originated from Italy. It consists of ingredients such as tomato sauce, olive oil, mozzarella cheese, onions and dough with meat and vegetable toppings added in. As to why pizza is my favourite dish, the first thing that comes to mind is the texture of the dish. The description “crispy on the outside, soft on the inside” really embodies with this dish, as the crunchy, crispy exterior goes well with the cheesy, meaty interior that we all love. The cheese on top is typically bubbly and has melted into a delicious, gooey layer that covers the other toppings. Thus, it is always visually appealing and enticing. Additionally, the golden crust stands firm enough to hold the toppings. Toppings like vegetables or meat can add varying textures, such as crunchy bell peppers or tender slices of cooked meat. Moreover, the taste can range from very spicy to very sweet, depending on the toppings. For example, the famous fiery flakes to the sweet pineapple. After adding that, the dish’s taste has become well-combined and delicious! Nevertheless, the tanginess of the tomato sauce and the buttery cheese compliment each other really well. In conclusion, pizza is a must have delicacy that everyone should try! The dish has a nice balance between tangy and savory with some variedness in the toppings.

English Month : Book Review Competition 1 st - Farees Farhan Bin Hashim (Class 3B) Book Title : Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone Assalammualaikum and good day to all my teachers and friends. Hello, my name is Farees Farhan Bin Hashim from SMK Petra Jaya. I’m from class 3B. Today, I would like to review a book titled Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone. This book contains about 246 pages. Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British Author J.K Rowlings. It chronicles the lives of a young wizard Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is a magical adventure and it also perfect for 15 years old readers and beyond. This book takes you to on a magical journey into world of full of wizards, spells and secrets and it’s an absolute must- read for anyone who loves fantasy and adventure story. At its core, Harry potter and The Philosopher’s Stone tells a story of a young boy named Harry Potter who unfortunately lost his parents when he was still an infant. He was then taken in by his aunt and uncle, the Dursleys. He lives in the dark cupboard under the stairs for 10 years. On his 11th birthday, he founds out that he is a wizard from a man named Hagrid. And was also called The Boy Who Lived in the magical world. He then enters Hogwarts: School of Witchcarft and Wizardry where he makes friends with Hermione and Ron. During the sorting hat session, he was placed in Gryffindor’s house and was also chosen as a young seeker in Quidditch team. Harry also learns about magic and unravels the mystery of the Philosopher’s Stone. In this book, he finds out that Voldemort is the one who responsible for the death of his parents and now trying to gain his body back. It’s a tale of bravery, friendship and the importance of doing what’s right even when it’s difficult. My favourite character in this book is Hagrid. He is very loyal to Professor Dumbledore and also very protective of Harry Potter. J.K Rowling’s writing is very captivating and she creates a world that feels real with characters you’ll grow to love and villains that you love to hate. This book is full with exciting adventures, magical creatures and unexpected twists that will keep you turning the pages. I hope you will read this fantastic book. I totally recommend it and rate it as ten out of ten. Thank you.
Greetings, my name is Addeena Fitrya, and I am from class 5A. I’ve decided to partake in this book reviewcompetition to discuss one of my favourite classic books of all time: Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice is written by author Jane Austen and published in the year 1813. The initial title of the book was originally called First Impressions, but it was later changed to the iconic and timeless name we know now. The rich contents of the book are told in approximately 369 wonderful pages. The story of this novel revolves around our main protagonist, Elizabeth Bennet, whose parents are seeking to find the perfect suitor for at least one of their five daughters so they could get engaged and married. Especially that it was because all of their wealth and inheritance would directly fall into the hands of the only available male heir, their cousin Mr Collins. We are introduced to various types of interestingly memorable and colourful cast of characters. From our beloved fiery and charmingly witty Elizabeth, her gentle mannered eldest sister, Jane, and the brooding and stoic Mr Darcy. As well as the eccentric Bennet family. As we read on, we get to observe as these pages weave the interactions of the characters and the progression of the relationship between our main protagonist, Elizabeth and her love interest, Mr Darcy. The first time they met was at a ball, and her impression of his character and personality was that of an aloof and arrogant wealthy bachelor, who was too prideful to interact with anyone else at the party. Especially when she overheard the way he described her as merely ‘tolerable’, which she justifiably took an offence to. The tale develops further when Elizabeth’s eldest sister, Jane, caught the eye of another wealthy bachelor, Mr Bingley, a close friend of Mr Darcy. Her family strongly encourages her to pursue him further so he could propose to her soon enough. Meanwhile, our main romantic pairing met yet again at another party in which they managed to have a friendlier conversation with one another. However, things took a turn when Mr Bingley went to leave abruptly to London, leaving Jane with the shattered hope of a non-existent proposal. When Elizabeth found out that Mr Darcy was the one who convinced his friend to move away, she rejected his love proposal to have her hand in marriage, which further caused a conflict in their now damaged relationship. Our characters begin to turn away from each other, and would only properly reconcile after a year had passed. Unbeknownst to Elizabeth, however, was that over the course of the year, Mr Darcy had fixed upon his mistake and faults in silence. From helping and doing a considerable favour to her younger sister, to helping Jane and Mr Bingley reconnect once again. Which finally gives the latter the opportunity to propose to her, ending their storyline with a beautiful happy ending for the pair. Which brings us over to My favourite part of the book, when the second proposal scene between Elizabeth and Mr Darcy took place, in which they both finally admitted their faults to one another. She forgave him for his pride when it was revealed what he had done for the sake of her and her family. And this proposal between them finally had a positive answer, as she accepted his hand and they soon wed. The way Austen had worded it was very romantic and heart touching indeed. My favourite character, of course, has to be our main protagonist herself. Rebellious, stubborn and clever. The way her character slowly developed to be more empathetic and open minded to get past her prejudice against Mr Darcy, taught us a great lesson in changing ourselves and mindset for the better. To not judge a book by its cover, and humility should always lead our guidance. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a beautiful tale of historical romance with exceptional storytelling. Global Warming PUBLIC SPEAKING DISTRICT AREA NUR SYAZWANA ARISYHA BINTI MOHAMAD AZIZAM (5SC1) Assalamualaikum and a very good morning I bid to the honorable judges, respected teachers and fellow comrades who are present here today. Before I begin, I would like to share a joke with you, If you live in an igloo, what’s the worse thing about global warming? 3,2,1!! The answer is, No privacy!!! It is unusually hot these days that the minister of education has agreed to allow us to wear sport attire or decent clothes to avoid any health complications. On the contrary, the incessant and intense rainfall end of February this year had caused a series of floods in several states of Malaysia and affected some SPM candidates who had to reschedule their papers. Initially, we thought that there wouldn’t have any flooding issues which would affect the SPM candidates in February, which was usually sunny and bright. But what had happened? Did the rain willfully follow the SPM candidates every year? Just kidding. This climate change and extreme weather events are all due to ‘GLOBAL WARMING’, which is my topic today. Today, I stand before you to address one of the most critical challenges of our time: global warming. As you can see now, climate change is no longer a distant threat but a harsh reality that demands our immediate attention and collective action. Ladies and gentlemen, First and foremost, let's understand what global warming is. It refers to the long-term increase in Earth's average temperature due to the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, primarily caused by human activities. Every year, significant quantities of trees are felled and excessive amounts of fossil fuels are combusted, all in the name of advancing CIVILISATION. Don’t get me wrong, I have deep admiration for our vast knowledge and perpetual innovation, which strive to guarantee the comfort and convenience of humanity. However, the excessive pursuit of these activities has inflicted significant harm upon our environment. Ladies and gentlemen, We tend to complain about the extreme weathers now or sympathies with the polar bears which have lost their home due to the melting of polar ice caps, BUT, ironically, we are actually the culprits! Yes… everyone of us here who are enjoying the cooling air conditioner at the moment. WE are the main factor that our planet is in distress. But fret not, even though we are the PROBLEM, we are also the SOLUTION! UH-uh! We can MAKE A DIFFERENCE! So now, let’s start by making some little changes in our daily routines to decelerate the progress of global warming.

“心”空亮了 (吴家盛 4F) 海风轻拂 逐岸的浪花带走杂乱的脚印 夕阳渐逝,孩童的背影渐远 欢乐的笑声是曾经的存现 低垂的夜幕将静寂碾成了一幅画 夜色无须篝火的陪伴,正如 白天不需要七彩的霓虹 夜晚的海岸线无须欢快的歌声点缀 涛声已是最美的旋律 孤寂的礁石,遥望着 浩瀚无际的外太空传来的稀碎光源 任凭潮起的汹涌拍打着它的身躯 懒理潮落的流水磨滑它的棱角 潮汐早让他忘了自己最初的 模样 夜里的风总爱夹带着淡淡忧愁 轻轻掀起尘封的往事 过去,早就该朦胧 何故?何苦?何必? 一再苦苦纠结? 黑幕笼罩着大地 乌黑的世界里只有稀疏的渔火 在远处明灭着 漂在黑暗汪洋中乱了方寸的小破船 只能停航,在 海浪的起伏中 跌宕 漫天的星斗仿佛成了累赘 方向盘如同不停摆的钟在左右摆动 夜里,无须繁星 夜里,等待的只是一束光 一束在黑暗里给予方向的光 倏地 灯塔亮了 夜空亮了 我的“心”空也亮了 模糊不清的前方有了轮廓 船只有了航行的方向 我将走出暗黑 启航 第一次参加作文比赛 (沈如吟 4S) 2020年,老师帮我报名参加了华人少年作文 比赛。那是我第一次参加作文比赛,而我对此却 一无所知。我是在毫不知情的情况下,参加了这 项作文比赛,直到老师通知我,说我得了三等 奖,我才知道是怎么一回事。 由于新冠肺炎来袭,我国——马来西亚实施 了行动管制令,为了避免更多人确诊,我们长时 期呆在屋子里,与世隔绝。在政府拟定的管制令 下,学校必须关闭,于是,面对面的学习生活被 线上网课的教学方式取代。因此,老师只能通过 线上教学和分发功课给学生。 有一次,我的华文老师——黄老师布置了一 份功课。黄老师让我们写一篇作文,题目是“我 的2020”。老师规定我们要在一个星期内完成并 交给他。我在老师规定的时间内完成了功课,老 师收到后,也没说什么,我也就不了了之。2021 年4月,我在华文班的群组收到一个通知。黄老师 在群组告诉我,他说我的作文在比赛中获奖了, 得知这个消息的我一脸懵,还有些意外。我心里 想着“我几时参加过这项作文比赛?”“我的作 文写得那么差,竟然可以得奖?”。无论如何, 这是我2021年的生日礼物,也是一份惊喜。我永 远记得我是在 2021年4月19日收到得奖通知,因为那一天是 我的生日。我想了想,想了又想,想了几天,我 实在记不起来我参加过该项比赛。后来,我才知 道老师别有用心,讲比赛作文布置成功课,让我 们集体创作,然后再从中选出几篇文章拿去投 稿,参加比赛。我的文章在该项比赛得了三等 奖,我的心里五味杂陈,兴奋中还参杂着些许悔 意。想当初,如果我知道老师让我们写的作文是 要拿去投稿参加比赛的,说不定我会更加努力、 更加认真地写,也许我的文章会得到更好的名 次。可是,写文章的目的,其实也不是为了比 赛,因此就算这次知道是为了比赛而写的文章, 我还是选择以平常心对待,只写出心中最想说的 话,因为我相信文章就是表达最真实最自然的一 面,无须过多的文字雕琢。 这是第一次参加作文比赛给予我最真实的感 受,我希望我可以一直敲着键盘,把心中最想说 的话,记录下来,记录着我平凡,不算出彩的人 生。
