I thank my Lord, who has given me the strength and wisdom
to carry through this period of life crisis and made the relation-
ship between my mother and me stronger than ever.

ณ อพาร์ตเมนต์เล็กๆ แห่งหนึ่งในเขตชานเมืองของประเทศยูเครน

สตรีวัยสี่สิบกว่ากำ�ลังง่วนอยู่กับการทำ�งานบ้าน ในระหว่างที่สามี
ของเธออยู่ที่ทำ�งานและลูกๆ ไปโรงเรียน
เสียงโทรศัพท์มือถือบนโต๊ะดังขึ้น
“สวัสดีค่ะเจ้”
“กุ้งเหรอ เป็นอย่างไรบ้าง สบายดีไหม”
“ก็สบายดีค่ะเจ้… เดี๋ยวปีหน้า เราก็จะย้ายประเทศแล้วละค่ะ ร้อบ
เขาได้ย้ายไปรับตำ�แหน่งใหม่ที่ประเทศมอนเตเนโกรค่ะเจ้”
เธอคุยต่อไปอีกสักพัก ถึงความรู้สึกขอบคุณพระเจ้าและความดีใจ
ของเธอที่จะได้ย้ายออกจากประเทศยูเครน เพราะสถานการณ์โควิด-19
ที่นั่น ดูเหมือนจะไม่ดีขึ้นเลย
แต่ดูเหมือนว่าคนที่ฟังอยู่ปลายสายจะไม่ได้สนใจคำ�พูดใดๆ ของ
เธอเท่าไรนัก
“แกฟังนะ.. แม่ไม่สบาย กลับบ้านได้แล้ว!” แล้วอีกฝ่ายก็วางสาย
ไปเฉยๆ
น้ำ�เสียงที่เหมือนโกรธจัดของอีกฝ่าย ทำ�ให้เธอตกใจ สับสน และ
งุนงง
โทรศัพท์ที่แนบอยู่ข้างหู ก็ค่อยๆ เลื่อนลงมาวางบนโต้ะอย่างช้าๆ

Chapter 1:

The Gray Cloud

At a small apartment in the suburbs of Kyiv, Ukraine, a woman

in her forties was busy doing housework. Her husband was at
work, and the children were at school. The cell phone on the
table rang.
“Hello, Sis.”
“How are you, Kung?” her cousin asked.
“I’m doing well, thanks.” Kung replied, “Next year, we’ll
be moving to another country. My husband will be taking a new
position in Montenegro.”
Kung continued to talk for a while expressing her gratitude
and relief at leaving Ukraine because the COVID-19 situation
there was not improving. It seemed, however, that the person
on the other end of the line didn’t pay much attention to her
words.
“Listen! Your mom is sick. You must go home now!” and
then her cousin abruptly hung up. The furious tone that she
heard startled Kung. Bewildered and confused, Kung slowly re-
turned the phone to the table.

ลาสองหนุ่มน้อย ที่ขึ้นนั่งบนรถแท็กซี่กับแม่
ก่อนที่รถจะแล่นออกไป สองหนุ่มน้อยก็โบกมือลาพ่อ โดยไม่รู้
เลยว่า การแยกจากที่คิดว่าเพียงไม่กี่สัปดาห์ จะกลายเป็นวันสุดท้ายที่
ทั้งสามแม่ลูกได้ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ที่ประเทศยูเครน
ที่สนามบินกรุงเคียฟ เครื่องบินได้เริ่มทะยานขึ้นฟ้า
กุ้งหันมามองลูกๆ ด้วยความกังวล นี่เป็นครั้งแรกในชีวิต ที่เธอ
ต้องเดินทางข้ามทวีปเพียงลำ�พังกับลูกทั้งสองคน
เธอพยายามสลัดความกังวลนั้นออกไป ด้วยการนึกถึงใบหน้าของ
แม่ที่เมืองไทย เกือบ 18 เดือนแล้วที่กุ้งไม่ได้พบกับแม่
ที่ผ่านมา เธอจะพาเด็กๆ ไปเยี่ยมคุณยายที่เมืองไทยปีละครั้ง แต่
เพราะการแพร่ระบาดของโควิด-19 ทำ�ให้ประเทศไทยปิดน่านฟ้า ห้าม
สายการบินพาณิชย์บินเข้าออกประเทศเป็นเวลาหลายเดือน เธอจึงได้
แต่เฝ้ารอวันที่ประเทศไทยจะเปิดน่านฟ้าอีกครั้ง
“แม่… หนูกำ�ลังไปหาแม่แล้วนะ” แม้จะเป็นการพูดอยู่ในใจ แต่
ก็ไม่อาจทำ�ให้เธอสะกัดกลั้นน้ำ�ตาที่ไหลออกมาได้

Chapter 2:

Returning to the Nest

“Safe travels. Be nice to your mother,” Rob said goodbye to

his two boys as they sat in a taxi with Kung. As the taxi drove
away, the two boys waved goodbye to their father, not know-
ing that this separation, which they all thought would only be
for a few weeks, marked the last day of their lives in Ukraine.
At the airport in Kyiv, the plane began to take off. Kung
turned to look at the children with concern; this was the first
time in her life that she had to travel across continents alone
with both children. She tried to shake off that worry and be-
gan to think about her mother’s face in Thailand. It had been
almost 18 months since Kung saw her mother in person.
In the past, she would take the children to visit Grandma
in Thailand at least once a year, but Thailand closed its air-
space due to the spread of COVID-19, so she hasn’t been
able to visit Thailand. She had been waiting for the day when
Thailand would open its airspace again.
“Mom, I’m coming to see you.” Kung couldn’t hold back
the tears that flowed from her eyes.

ทั้งสามแม่ลูก กำ�ลังเดินลงจากรถตู้เข้าโรงแรมเล็กๆ แห่งหนึ่งในใจกลาง
กรุงเทพฯ
“ใช่จ้ะ” เธอพูดพร้อมโอบไหล่ลูกเบาๆ
ค่ำ�นั้น กุ้งมองดูลูกชายสองคน วัย 8 ขวบ และ 10 ขวบ ที่กำ�ลัง
หลับลึก เพราะความเหนื่อยล้าจากการเดินทางยาวนานเกือบ 22 ชั่วโมง
“ชีวิตอีก 14 คืน 15 วัน ของการกักตัว โดยห้ามออกจากห้อง
แบบนี้จะเป็นอย่างไรนะ ลูกๆ จะอดทนได้แค่ไหนกันนะ” เธอครุ่นคิด
อยู่ในใจ
เช้าวันรุ่งขึ้น กุ้งพาลูกๆ ลงมาชั้นล่างของโรงแรม มีเจ้าหน้าที่
ในชุดพีพีอีป้องกันเชื้อโรคอยู่หลายคน
ราวกับรู้ว่าตัวเองกำ�ลังต้องเจออะไร สองหนุ่มเริ่มมีสีหน้าไม่ดี
“ถ้านั่งนิ่งๆ ลูกจะไม่เจ็บนะ” เธอพยายามใช้เหตุผลคุยกับลูก
แต่ความกลัวของเด็กๆ ทำ�ให้พวกเขาอดที่จะร้อง และดิ้นหนีไม่ได้
สุดท้ายเธอจึงให้ลูกๆ นั่งตักของเธอทีละคน และก็ช่วยเจ้าหน้าที่จับ
พวกเขาให้นิ่งโดยการกอดพวกเขาไว้
“แม่..เจ็บจังเลย” สองหนุ่มน้อยพูดไป พร้อมกับปาดน้ำ�ตาไป
ขณะเดินกลับห้องพัก

เธอดึงลูกๆ เข้าไปกอดเพื่อปลอบใจ ในขณะเดียวกัน เธอเองก็
พยายามกลั้นน้ำ�ตาจากความสงสารลูกๆ
“เราต้องตรวจโควิดแบบนี้กี่ครั้งกี่หนกันครับแม่” ลูกชายคนโต
ถามด้วยความอยากรู้ และหวังว่าจะไม่ต้องตรวจอีก
“สามครั้ง จ๊ะลูก”
เวลาผ่านไป เข้าสู่คืนที่ 7 ค่ำ�คืนนั้น สามแม่ลูกกำ�ลังเตรียมตัว
เข้านอน
“แม่…เมื่อไหร่เราจะได้ไปจากที่นี่ล่ะแม่” ลูกคนเล็กถาม
“อีก 7 คืนจ้ะ”
“ทำ�ไมถึงนานจังเลยล่ะแม่” เด็กน้อยพูดพร้อมกับปาดน้ำ�ตา
เจ็ดวันที่ผ่านมา กุ้งพยายามให้ลูกๆ ช่วยกันล้างจาน ถูห้อง ซัก
ผ้า ตากผ้า วาดรูป เล่นเกมส์ และอ่านหนังสือ เพื่อช่วยให้เวลาในห้อง
สี่เหลี่ยมแคบๆ นี้ ผ่านไปเร็วขึ้นสำ�หรับสองหนุ่มน้อย
แต่ทว่า วันนี้ ดูเหมือนว่าความอดทนของลูกใกล้จะถึงที่สุดแล้ว
กุ้งดึงลูกเข้ามากอดและจูบเบาๆ “อดทนนะลูก…อดทนนะ เดี๋ยว
เราก็จะได้เป็นอิสระ ได้ไปเจอคุณยายกันแล้วลูก”
เธอพยายามกลั้นน้ำ�ตาที่กำ�ลังเอ่อล้น พร้อมอธิษฐานในใจกับ
พระเจ้าว่า
“พระเจ้าคะ..ได้โปรดเมตตาเราสามแม่ลูกด้วย
ขอใหเ้ ด็กๆ มีความอดทน ทจ่ี ะผ่านช่วงเวลาน้ไี ปใหไ้ ด”้

Chapter 3:

A Concrete Jail

“Is this the hotel we will have to stay in, Mom?” asked the

eldest c hild while all three walked down from the van to a
small hotel in the heart of Bangkok. “Yes,” she said, gently
embrac ing the c hild’s shoulder. That evening, Kung looked at
her two sons, ages 8 and 10. They were in a deep sleep; the
journey had lasted almost 22 hours. “Another 15 days and
14 nights of quarantine in a small room - How will the kids
endure this?” she questioned.

The next morning Kung brought the children down to
the ground floor of the hotel. There were many officers in
PPE (Personal Protec tive Equipment) to prevent the spread
of the virus. As if knowing what was c oming, the two boys
began to scowl.
“If you sit still, it will hurt less,” said Kung as she tried to
reason with them. Unfortunately, their fear c aused the boys
to c ry and struggle to esc ape. Eventually, she had to sit the
boys on her lap and helped the officers to keep them still by
hugging them.

“Mom, it hurts so bad!” said the boys as they wiped
away their tears while walking back to the room. She pulled
her kids into a hug to comfort them, trying to hold back tears
of her own.
“How many times do we have to do this? How many
times, Mom?” asked the eldest son, hoping never to go through
it again. “Three times, Son,” Kung replied.
Time had passed, and on the seventh night, the three
were preparing for bed. “Mom, when can we get out of
here?” asked the youngest child.
“Seven more nights,” Kung told them. “Why is it taking
so long, Mom?” said the little boy, wiping away his tears. Seven
days ago, Kung tried to get the c hildren to help eac h other
wash dishes, mop the room, do the laundry, hang the clothes
to dry, draw, play games, and read books to make time pass
more quickly in the narrow square room. It worked, for the
most part, but on this day it seemed that their patience was
nearing its end.
Kung pulled the boy into a hug and kissed him softly. “It will
be okay, Son. I understand how you feel. Soon it will be over
and we will get to see Grandma.” She tried to hold bac k
the overflowing tears while praying in her heart to God, “Lord,
please have mercy on us. Please give the boys patience to
endure this period.”

เมื่อ รถยนต์จอดสนิทลงที่หน้าบ้าน สามแม่ลูกก็ไม่รีรอ โผเข้ามากอด

คุณยาย เด็กๆ ถ่ายรูปกับคุณยายที่สวนหน้าบ้านด้วยความดีใจ
ใกล้จะค่ำ�แล้ว กุ้งเห็นแม่เงียบหายไป จึงเดินเข้ามาตามหาแม่
ที่ห้องนอน ขณะที่เธอกำ�ลังแง้มบานประตูออก เธอต้องหยุดนิ่งไปชั่ว
ขณะ
ภาพที่แม่นั่งคอพับอยู่บนเก้าอี้นั่ง ทำ�ให้กุ้งตกใจมาก
“นี่มันไม่ใช่อาการของคนที่ป่วยด้วยโรคหอบหืดแล้ว” เธอคิด
และนึกถึงคำ�พูดที่แม่พร่ำ�บอกกับเธอทุกครั้งที่มีอาการไอ
แล้วภาพในอดีต เมื่อครั้งที่กุ้งมาเยี่ยมแม่ครั้งก่อน ก็ย้อนผุดขึ้น
“แค่กๆ” เสียงของแม่ดังขึ้นขณะนั่งอยู่บนเตียงนอน
“แม่... ทำ�ไมมาเที่ยวนี้ กุ้งได้ยินแม่ไอบ่อยจัง มันดูไม่ปกติเลย
อยู่ดีๆ แม่ก็ไอขึ้นมาเฉยๆ แบบนี้ เราไปหาหมอตรวจดูกันหน่อยไหม”
“ไม่ต้องหรอก แม่ไม่ได้เป็นอะไร แม่ก็เป็นอย่างนี้แหละ โรค
ประจำ�ตัวหอบหืดแต่ไหนแต่ไร กินยา พ่นยา พักผ่อน เดี๋ยวก็หาย”
กุ้งนิ่ง ไม่ต่อคำ� แต่ก็เก็บความกังวลใจไว้เงียบๆ แม่เป็นคนเข้ม
แข็งมาแต่ไหนแต่ไร บางเรื่องก็ดื้อมากเหมือนกัน

ทว่า…สภาพของแม่ในวันนี้ช่างแตกต่างจากแม่ที่เธอเคยเห็นเมื่อ
18 เดือนก่อน ราวฟ้ากับดิน ใบหน้าที่เคยสดชื่น แลดูมีกำ�ลัง และ
แข็งแรง กลับขาดความอิ่มเอิบ เผือดซีด ร่างกายเหมือนคนไร้เรี่ยวแรง
ทำ�ให้กุ้งกลั้นน้ำ�ตาไม่อยู่
“นี่แม่ฉันเป็นอะไร” เธอถามตัวเองในใจ และไม่รีรอ รีบเดินออก
ไปเก็บเสื้อผ้าใส่กระเป๋า เสื้อผ้าตัวแล้วตัวเล่า ถูกจับใส่ลงราวกับว่า
เธอจะไม่ได้กลับบ้านอีกเป็นอาทิตย์
“แก้ว ช่วยเก็บของให้ยายหน่อยนะ พรุ่งนี้พี่จะพาแม่ไปโรงพยา-
บาลแต่เช้า” กุ้งบอกแม่บ้านที่ช่วยดูแลแม่อย่างสัตย์ซื่อมานานหลาย
สิบปี
“พี่กุ้งนัดหมอไว้แล้วเหรอคะ”
“ใช่จ้ะ พี่ได้นัดหมอรักษาปอดที่เก่งมากของโรงพยาบาลไว้แล้ว
ตั้งแต่ยังอยู่ที่โรงแรมกักตัว” กุ้งตอบและรู้ว่า นั่นคือสิ่งแรกที่ต้องทำ�
เมื่อกลับถึงบ้าน
“พี่ฝากเด็กๆ ด้วยนะ ไปคราวนี้อาจจะต้องอยู่ยาว”

The Wind Turns

When the car finally parked in front of the house, all three

jumped out and hugged Grandma. The boys joyfully took pic-
tures with Grandma in the front garden.
It was almost dusk. Kung noticed that her mom had
quietly gone somewhere, so she tried to look for her. As she
opened the bedroom door, the image of her exhausted mom
shocked her. “This doesn’t look like someone who suffers
from only asthma anymore,” she thought, recalling the words
that her mother told her every time she coughed.
Then Kung thought of her last visit with her mom. “Ahem,”
her mother coughed as she sat on the bed. “Mom, you
seem to be c oughing a lot. It sounds unusual. Shall we go to
have the doctor check it out?” Kung asked her.
“No, don’t bother. I’m fine,” she said. “This is my thing.
It happens now and then. I will feel better just by taking
some medicine, using my inhaler, and taking a rest.”

Kung didn’t want to push her, so she kept her worries
to herself. Her mother had always been a strong person, yet
sometimes she could be very stubborn.
Eighteen months ago, her mother had been ruddy, ener-
getic, and strong. This day, though, the woman in front of her
was pale, languid, and weak. The difference was as distinct as

night and day. Her strength was almost gone. Kung was unable
to hold back the tears. “What is going on?” she asked herself,
and without hesitation, she hurriedly packed her clothes in a
bag, enough to last a week.
“Kaew, please help me pac k Mom’s c lothing,” Kung in-
struc ted her housekeeper, who had faithfully c ared for her
mother for decades. “Tomorrow, I’ll take her to the hospital
early in the morning.”
Kaew asked, “Have you made an appointment with the
doctor yet?”
“Yes, I made an appointment with a very good pulmo-
nologist at the hospital while I was at the state quarantine
hotel,” Kung replied. She had known that was the first thing
she would need to do when she got home.
“Kaew, please take c are of the boys for me. It may be
a while before we get to come back home.” Kung requested.

A Roar of Thunder

In the patient examination room, an elderly doctor speciali-

zing in thoracic lungs looked intently at the x-ray film. “There’s
something inside. Your mom needs to do a CT scan to see it
more clearly.”

“Yes, Doctor. We’d like to be as thorough as possible,”
she replied. “Can we have her admitted tonight? We have
already prepared to stay. I want my mother to rest and gain
her strength.” Kung noticed that the doctor didn’t make eye
contact when talking to her, which implied to her that it would
not be good news. Panic rose within Kung from the doctor’s
expression.
That evening, while Mom was sleeping in the hospital
bed, Kung walked quietly from the room to the front of
the nurse’s c ounter. “Hello, have you rec eived the CT sc an
results yet? If so, may I see them? My niece, who is also a
doctor, would like to help me understand them.” At first, the
nurse seemed unsure, but hearing the reason, brought the
results of the mother’s examination.
Kung went back to stand and read the report in the
hallway in front of the room where the light was brighter than
where her mother lay. After she finished reading the report,
she took a photo of it and forwarded it to her niece. They
both had a long conversation over the phone.
Kung slowly walked in and sat down on the sofa in the
room. She looked at her mother, who was still c losing her eyes.
By this time her emotions were shot, for her body and mind
were completely numb.

รู้สึกเจ็บปวดที่เกินบรรยาย เสียงสะอื้นที่ไม่อาจควบคุมได้ทำ�ให้ตัวเธอ

สักพักกุ้งสวมชุดนอนออกมาจากห้องน้ำ� เห็นแม่ลืมตาอยู่ จึง

Chapter 6:

The Great Black Wave

After the doctor finished checking her mother’s condition

in the room, he asked Kung to follow him out of the room.
“The results of yesterday’s CT scan showed that your mother
has stage IV lung cancer; It’s beyond surgery as it’s already
spread to other parts of her body. Her abdomen is very bad.
If left untreated, she has around three months to live.”
“So what should we do, Doctor?”

“There are two main options: one is chemotherapy, and
the second is a targeted therapy.”
“I don’t think my mother is physically strong enough to
handle chemotherapy. Can we try targeted therapy?” her voice
trembled as she replied.
“Targeted therapy has the advantage of being able to
target only cancer cells in the body and will have little impact
on other good cells, so it’s different from regular chemotherapy.
However, targeted drugs have limitations in that not everyone
with lung cancer will be able to use them effectively. It is an
expensive treatment. Most importantly, it cannot cure your
mother completely. It will only help to extend her life.”
“We are willing and able to do it,” Kung replied in a firm
tone. She didn’t know the extent of her mother’s current fi-
nances but was determined to fund the treatment, even if it
meant having to sell real estate or the jewelry that her mother
intended to give her. She wanted her mother to receive the
best treatment possible.
“All right then. Tomorrow the nurse will take your mother
to the operating room. She will receive general anesthesia.
Then an instrument will be inserted through the mouth and
the windpipe down to the cancerous tumor. We will scrape a
piece of tissue and send it to the lab for biopsy. The lab will test
if her cancer cells respond to targeted therapy drugs. If yes,
then your mother can be treated with targeted therapy.”

“Yes, Doctor,” Kung replied hopefully. “One more thing, I
don’t want my mother to know anything right now. I’m afraid
that she will lose heart.” The doctor nodded understandingly.
That night, while Kung’s mom was sleeping, Kung walked
into the bathroom to take a shower. She turned on the shower
head, and as soon as the water flowed, all her frustrations poured
out. Tears streamed down like blood from a life-threatening
wound with an indescribable feeling of pain; her body trembled
as she sobbed uncontrollably.
After a while, Kung came out of the bathroom wearing
pajamas. She saw that her mother’s eyes were open, so she
sat beside the bed.
“Mom, you’re awake! How are you feeling? You have an I.V.
of saline, so you’ll get stronger soon.” Kung held her mother’s
hand as she spoke. She smiled at her mom as if she had no
sorrow.
“I have to be strong. Mom must not know anything right
now,” she told herself. It was the first time in Kung’s life that
she had to carry a heavy load and hid it from someone she
loved and respected.

เพราะเผอิญว่าก้อนเนื้อถูกเบียดด้วยพังผืดที่มีอยู่เดิม หมอจึงทำ�ได้ดี
ที่สุดแค่การขูดเอาเนื้อเยื่อรอบๆ ผนังหลอดลม และบริเวณใกล้เคียง
มาให้มากที่สุดเท่าที่จะทำ�ได้เท่านั้น แต่หมอเกรงว่า มีเปอร์เซ็นต์น้อย
มาก ที่สิ่งที่เราส่งไปห้องแล็บจะมีความชัดเจน”
หมอพูดพลางก็วาดรูปประกอบไปพลาง เพื่อช่วยให้กุ้งเข้าใจและ
เห็นภาพชัดเจนขึ้น
“ถ้าจะให้ดีและแน่นอน หมอคิดว่า เราต้องใช้อีกวิธีหนึ่งด้วย คือ
ต้องเจาะปอดผ่านทางด้านหลัง เพื่อเอาชิ้นเนื้อบริเวณเยื่อหุ้มปอด ส่ง
ไปห้องแล็บเพิ่ม เผื่อว่าที่ส่งไปก่อนหน้าจะใช้ไม่ได้ แต่ทว่า การเจาะ
ปอดอาจมีความเสี่ยงอยู่บ้าง ซึ่งหมอรับรองว่า จะพยายามทำ�ให้ดีที่สุด”
เธอตอบตกลงกับสิ่งที่หมอแนะนำ�

Big Hail

“The doctor is finished in the operating room. If you wait

a moment, he will come and talk with you,” said the nurse
behind the counter. Kung was waiting anxiously on the sofa
in the hallway as he entered with a serious expression on his
face.
“There is a troubling matter which I need to consult with
you,” the doctor said.
“We placed the camera using endoscopy through her
mouth to her trachea to take a biopsy of a large, cancerous
mass. It cannot be done, however, due to scar tissue blocking
it. Multiple attempts were made, scraping around the trachea
and other areas as close as possible, but we fear that a large
percentage of the tissue that we send to the lab will not test
successfully.” He explained this while drawing an illustration
to help Kung understand more clearly.

“Another method may work better, that is to pierce
through the lungs from the back of the body to take more tis-
sue samples,” the doctor explained. “These additional samples
will be sent to the lab in case the previous set is insufficient. A
lung puncture has risks, but we are confident with this method
as a follow-up as needed.” Kung pondered the doctor’s words
and gave her consent.
Kung searched long into the night about lung puncture
biopsy and tried to understand the procedure in detail, es-
pecially the risks and dangers. Her anxiety rose.

ไม่มีเหตุร้ายใดๆ จะเกิดแก่ท่าน

Chapter 8:

Believe in The Psalms

The next day the doctor and three nurses walked into the

room with a small cart with long needles and other equipment
lined up. One of the nurses pulled the curtain so that Kung
could not see Mom’s bed anymore. The time had come; Kung
was scared and worried.
Kung recalled the Bible, Psalm 91, and hurriedly opened
these verses and began reading fervently in her mind.

Psalm 91 (NASB)
Security of the One Who Trusts in the LORD.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in
the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my
God, in whom I trust!”
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings
you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that
flies by day;
Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruc-
tion that lays waste at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your
right hand, but it shall not approach you.
You will only look on with your eyes and see the recom-
pense of the wicked.
For you have made the LORD, my refuge, even the Most
High, your dwelling place.
No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your

For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard
you in all your ways.
They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not

him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long
