First and foremost, I wish to extend a warm welcome to all speakers and participants to the 7th
International Conference on Management and Muamalah (7th ICoMM) 2020. It is my hope that
this conference will provide and promote exceptional learning opportunities for you, as well as
to further stimulate research in the field of Management and Muamalah.
With the main theme Contemporary Issues in Social Studies and a comprehensive sub-themes,
I believe that this conference will provide an effective platform for academicians, scholars and
researchers to discuss and share their knowledge in the fields of language, economics,
management, banking and Islamic wealth, and other related fields in Management and
Muamalah.
Finally, I wish to extend my heartiest congratulations and sincere appreciation to the Faculty of

Conference on Management and Muamalah (7th ICoMM) 2020 commences today. I am
delighted and honoured to welcome all of you to this conference. To the 7th ICoMM 2020
organising committee, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for your continuous
support and effort in making this conference a successful one.
The main aim of this conference is not only presenting research. What I believe to be more
essential is the gathering of great minds, field experts, scholars, educators and individuals who
play crucial roles in the arena of language, management, economics and banking. This
conference is yet another opportunity for us to come together and discover from each other
how to better serve our community, society and nations in these areas.
7th ICoMM 2020 is established with these purposes in mind. It is hoped that all that we learn

Alhamdulillah, all praise is to Allah, Lord Creator of all the worlds, for all that He has bestowed
upon His creation.
It is a great pleasure and privilege for me to welcome all of you to the 7th International
Conference on Management and Mualamah (7th ICoMM) 2020. We, as the organising
committee have taken a proactive approach in spearheading the conference to strengthen
the field of Management and Muamalah as a whole. Based on the theme Contemporary
Issues in Social Studies, I believe that everyone can share their expertise and be able to
formulate a better approach and formula in line with Islamic principles.
This conference gathers all the academicians, scholars and researchers in the Management
and Muamalah field in one event. As it is with most conference of this nature, the main aim is
that all the presentations and two-way discussions among participants can enhance

ABSTRAK

Kajian ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk meneroka tahap kecenderungan anggota Angkatan Tentera
Malaysia berkaitan dengan pemilihan kerjaya kedua mereka dalam bidang pendidikan selepas
persaraan. Metodologi kajian menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif secara tinjauan dengan borang soal
selidik yang melibatkan seramai 297 anggota Angkatan Tentera Malaysia dari pelbagai pangkat yang
sedang mengikuti Program Latihan Peralihan di Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Tentera, Sungai Buloh,
Selangor. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa majoriti responden mempunyai kecenderungan untuk
memilih kerjaya sebagai pendidik bagi kerjaya kedua mereka. Sehubungan dengan itu, hasil kajian ini
dapat menyumbangkan data empirikal yang kukuh kepada pihak Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia
dalam mempertimbangkan calon pendidik dari kalangan bekas anggota tentera. Seterusnya, di pihak
Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Tentera, hasil kajian ini juga berupaya membuat penambahbaikan bagi
program latihan peralihan berfokuskan pendidikan yang sejajar dengan minat dan kecenderungan
daripada anggota Angkatan Tentera Malaysia sendiri.

ABSTRACT

Research on performance appraisals (PA) for academics in Nigeria’s higher education institutions
(HEIs) is advocated for consideration of the elements that could support its effectiveness due to its
relevance towards enhancing academics’ and institutions’ quality and development, demonstrating the
significance of understanding antecedents of effective performance appraisals (EPA). Therefore, to add
to the body of existing literature, this paper presents a discussion on a theoretical framework that will
explore the relationship between PA fairness and employee participation on EPA as well as the
moderating role of perceived supervisor support (PSS) in these relationships. The proposed framework
is meant to propel researchers in conducting empirical studies in a variety of contexts.

Clean Energy, Inclusive Development and Sustainable Environment in Sub-
Saharan Africa

ABSTRACT

This study investigates the effect of renewable energy and inclusive human development on
environmental sustainability in sub-Saharan Africa. A system Generalized Method of Moments was
employed to estimate data for a sample of 42 countries. The result shows that an increase in renewable
energy usage will improve environmental sustainability through CO2 emissions reduction.
Furthermore, inclusive human development does not show evidence of impacting environmental
sustainability. However, income, trade openness and interactive renewable energy and inclusive
development suggest evidence of reducing environmental sustainability. Thus, the study recommends
improvement in the region’s technology in respect of renewable energy, income generation and trade
to further improve environmental sustainability.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to assess the correlation between mentors’ communication, mentees’ self-
efficacy and mentees’ study performance. Self-report questionnaires were utilized to collect data from
undergraduate students at a public research university in Malaysia. The IBM Statistical Package for
Social Science was employed to determine the validity and reliability of instrument and thus test the
research hypotheses. The results of linear regression analysis showed that effect of mentees’
communication on mentees’ study performance has been indirectly affected by mentees’ self-efficacy
in the examined organization. This finding is very useful to help practitioners in understanding the
multidimensional perspectives of mentees’ self-efficacy and formulate interactive mentoring programs
that may facilite mentees to success in the research university and broader society.

Bipolar Disorder di Kalangan Kanak-Kanak: Kajian di Johor Bahru

ABSTRAK

Bipolar Disorder adalah sejenis penyakit mental yang melibatkan gangguan emosi yang ketara yang
bermaksud tidak berkemampuan untuk mengawal emosi disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan bahan
kimia (neurotransmitter) di dalam otak iaitu Serotonin (emosi) dan Dopamin (pengawalan pergerakan,
focus dan motivasi). Ianya juga merupakan penyakit mental yang akan berulang sekiranya tidak
dirawat. Bipolar Disorder di kalangan kanak-kanak tidak sama seperti Bipolar Disorder di kalangan
dewasa. Semasa mengalami gangguan Bipolar, kanak-kanak tersebut akan menjadi sangar pemarah
dan bertindak di luar kawalan. Mereka juga boleh menggigit, memukul, memaki hamun serta menjadi
ganas dengan merosakkan harta benda atau membahayakan nyawa. Melihat kepada permasalahan ini,
perlunya suatu kajian untuk mengenal pasti tanda-tanda awal seseorang kanak-kanak itu mempunyai
Bipolar Disorder dan juga faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan mereka mendapat Bipolar Disorder.
Walaupun agak sukar menangani perubahan emosi, tetapi ianya tidak mustahil sekiranya mendapatkan
rawatan jangka panjang yang terdiri daripada ubat-ubatan dan psikoterapi. Kanak-kanak itu dan juga
keluarganya perlulah konsisten dan jelas untuk mematuhi jadual pengambilan ubat agar dapat
mengawal Bipolar Disorder. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif yang mana pengkaji akan
menjalankan temu bual berstruktur separa bagi memahami makna yang diberikan oleh responden
terhadap fenomena sosial yang berlaku ini

ABSTRAK

Kajian ini mengkaji strategi pelajar pasca siswazah menyelesaikan pengajian mereka pada waktu yang
ditetapkan oleh universiti. Terdapat sebilangan pelajar tidak berupaya menghabiskan pengajian mereka
dan berisiko disingkirkan dari universiti. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif. Temubual
merupakan eleman utama bagi mendapatkan data dan maklumat responden. Responden terdiri
daripada lima pelajar pasca siswazah. Data temubual kualitatif dikumpulkan dan dianalisis secara
deskriptif. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa strategi pelajar sering bersemuka dengan penyelia, pelajar
sangat komited terhadap penulisan tesis dan ibubapa sering memberi sokongan moral kepada pelajar
merupakan strategi berkesan. Selain itu, pelajar memiliki kewangan yang mencukupi merupakan
strategi penting pelajar pasca sisswazah menyelesaikan pengajian dalam tempoh yang ditetapkan oleh
universiti. Hasil kajian ini bermanfaat kepada penyelia tesis, pensyarah dan staf sokongan universiti
bagi memberi sokongan moral agar pelajar bergraduat pada tempoh yang ditetapkan.

ABSTRAK

Kecerdasan emosi dilihat sebagai salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan berlakunya masalah kelesuan
kerja dalam kalangan pekerja kesihatan. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan bagi menilai hubungan antara
kedua-dua pemboleh ubah tersebut. Objektif kajian ini dijalankan adalah bagi mengenal pasti tahap
kecerdasan emosi dan dimensi-dimensi kecerdasan emosi dalam kalangan pekerja kesihatan, menilai
tahap kelesuan pekerjaan dalam kalangan pekerja kesihatan, melihat hubungan antara dimensi-dimensi
kecerdasan emosi dengan simptom kelesuan kerja dalam kalangan pekerja kesihatan dan korelasi antara
kecerdasan emosi secara keseluruhan dengan kelesuan kerja dalam kalangan pekerja kesihatan. Kajian
ini dijalankan terhadap 153 orang pekerja kesihatan yang bertugas di fasiliti kesihatan di Seberang
Perai Tengah. Bagi mencapai objektif kajian ini, Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale
digunakan bagi menilai tahap kecerdasan emosi manakala Oldenburg Burnout Inventory digunakan
bagi menilai tahap kelesuan kerja. Analisis korelasi Spearman telah dijalankan bagi menilai hubungan
antara kedua-dua pemboleh ubah. Hasilnya mendapati bahawa tahap dimensi-dimensi kecerdasan
emosi dan kecerdasan emosi keseluruhan berada pada tahap yang tinggi manakala tahap kelesuan kerja
adalah pada tahap sederhana. Korelasi antara kedua-dua pemboleh ubah menunjukkan korelasi negatif
rendah yang singnifikan bagi dimensi pengawalan emosi (ROE). Manakala korelasi negatif sederhana
bagi dimensi penggunaan emosi (UOE) dan kecerdasan emosi keseluruhan. Bagi dimensi Penilaian
Emosi Sendiri (SEA), dan Penilaian Emosi Orang Lain (OEA) menunjukkan nilai korelasi yang tidak
signifikan iaitu melebihi kadar singnifikan, p > 0.05. Hasil dari kajian ini menunjukkan terdapatnya
hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan kelesuan kerja. Hasil kajian ini diharap dapat digunakan
bagi merangka pelan dalam menagani masalah kelesuan kerja dalam kalangan pekerja kesihatan.

The Impact of Entrepreneurial Orientation on Export Performance of Apparel
Industry in Bangladesh

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to contribute to the strategic management process for small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) by investigating the controversial relationship between multidimensional
entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and firms’ export performances. A cross-sectional survey was carried
out by providing a questionnaire to management and owners of MLEs of apparel industry. Primary
data were treated by partial least squares (PLS) technique to examine the association between EO
dimensions and export performance. Obtained results show positive and significant relationship of
innovativeness and proactiveness with firms’ export performance whereas risk-taking dimension
shows no influence. Present result is based on the information provided by the MLEs owners and senior
managements which may not similar in context of firms’ employees, business associates view point.
To investigate the relationship, a handful measures are applied among three independent variables
which makes it unique. Technological innovations (e.g. extensive R & D, process innovation, new
method of export operations) are given priority along with the product-market innovation. In context
of risk-taking, study has considered innovative activities related with new product, method and
entrance of new market segment with new product. Lastly, proactiveness focused on first-mover
advantages through introducing new product and process ahead of competitors in the markets.
Similarly, to measure export performance a handful measures are used which were focused on
financial, strategic and level of satisfaction performance as a multidimensional measure. As a result,
this study contributes a new knowledge in the strategic management and intangible resource literatures.
The contribution of this study also goes to the area of developing countries international
entrepreneurship. It adds knowledge through ensuring the impact of apparel firms’ EO on export
performance.

Pembelian secara dalam talian telah menjadi amalan gaya hidup seiring dengan perkembangan
teknologi komunikasi masa kini. Dengan situasi pandemic Covid-19 yang melanda dunia sejak awal
tahun 2020 telah mencetuskan fenomena normal baharu dalam kehidupan. Penggunaan Internet telah
menjadi semakin rancak dan perkara ini turut menggalakkan aktiviti pembelian dalam talian. Kajian
ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti aktiviti pembelian dalam talian serta menguji faktor yang
mempengaruhi pembelian dalam talian. Kaedah penyelidikan kuantitatif secara tinjauan telah
dilakukan dengan edaran borang soal selidik kepada seramai 100 orang mahasiswa Fakulti Pengurusan
dan Muamalah, Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Maklumat, Fakulti Pengajian dan Peradaban Islam,
Fakulti Syariah Undang-Undang dan Fakulti Pendidikan di Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa
Selangor. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian Statistic Package for Social Science (SPSS).
Terdapat empat faktor yang dikenal pasti iaitu faktor kemudahan, faktor kepuasan, faktor populariti
dan keselamatan dan faktor kepercayaan yang menjadi pemboleh ubah utama kajian. Dapatan kajian
menunjukkan faktor kepuasan, populariti dan kepercayaan mempengaruhi tingkah laku pembelian
mahasiswa. Ini dapat dijelaskan melalui hasil ujian korelasi yang mendapati terdapat hubungan yang
signifikan antara ketiga-tiga faktor ini dengan tingkah laku pembelian. Ironinya, pembelian dalam
talian terus menjadi pilihan dan aktiviti masyarakat pada hari ini dan secara tidak langsung
menyumbang ke arah ekonomi digital negara.

Preservation of the Intellect (Hifz Al-Aql) as an Islamic Approach to

ABSTRACT

Preserving Aqal (Intellect) is among five Daruriyat (Necessities) in Islam, it is considered as a vital
pillar in Maqasid al-Shariah (Objectives of Shariah). The preservation of intellect consists of two parts;
First, preservation for maintaining, and second, preservation from disappearing. This research studies
the preservation of intellect as an Islamic approach to the teaching of science. This can be shown
through how Islam allocates the intellect at its important position and how Islam legalizes rulings that
preserve the intellect in these two ways: maintenance and protection. It is known that the teaching of
science relies essentially on the intellect as the supreme source of knowledge; therefore this study
attempts to expose the Islamic approach in teaching of science through this issue. From the first part of
preservation which is maintaining of intellect, Islam does not prohibit mankind from utilizing their
intellect and depending on its outputs and outcomes, and this coincides with the teaching of science
which emphasizes on thinking scientifically. From the second part of preservation which is protecting
of intellect, Islam forbids humans from neglecting their intellect by abusing it or denying its task and
responsibility, and this matches also with the teaching of science which emphasizing on proofing
scientifically. This research consists of a brief introduction on the intellect, and its position in Maqasid
al-Shariah, the first chapter is on preservation of the intellect by maintaining its existence and use as
an Islamic approach of teaching of science, and the second chapter is on preservation of the intellect
by protecting its existence and use as an Islamic approach of teaching of science.

ABSTRACT

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, many companies were forced to follow the work-from-home
strategy. Because of the availability of teleconferencing, online meetings, and development in remote
worker management technology, this trend leads many businesses to decide to expand the strategy
beyond the pandemic situation. Work-from - home policy analysis is a method for increasing workers
' productivity. Companies supporting it say that workers' productivity level increases once they are
allowed to work from home. Higher levels of performance and profitability for employees will
contribute to higher profits and more development for the business. More and more businesses may
make these systems and expand them to a large number of higher-level employees, or more productive
staff that prefer those types of jobs. These elements characterize and involve remote work, and can be
defined as a "new normal" for location-independent operations. Hence in this paper, we aim to
understand the nature of work-from-home, the relationship of the new culture towards productivity and
how this new norm culture can be implemented successfully and factors that may hinder the remote
working which eventually may help the organization that wishes to adopt this new culture after post-
pandemic Covid-19.

ABSTRACT

The financial consequences of the MCO upon businesses are enormous. Considering this severe
financial impact that it has on the economy, industries are allowed to re-open, which includes theme
park and amusement park. Strict SOPs and social distancing, however, are to be observed at all times
either by operators or visitors. This paper addresses the duty of care of operator as an occupier in
handling the operations of the park during this unprecedented event. An operator must be made aware
of their obligations and duties in order to mitigate the liability they might have. It is because different
standards of duty are imposed on different types of park entrants.

ABSTRACT

Kertas kerja ini bertujuan meneliti tahap dimensi orientasi keusahawanan (EO) dalam kalangan entiti
perniagaan milikan usahawan ibu tunggal dan hubungannya dengan pertumbuhan perniagaan. Kajian
ini menggunakan teknik survei bagi mendapatkan data. Seramai 196 orang ibu tunggal daripada sebuah
Persatuan Wanita dan Ibu Tunggal telah dilibatkan sebagai responden kajian. Kesemua responden telah
dipilih menggunakan teknik persampelan bukan-berkebarangkalian iaitu jenis persampelan bertujuan.
Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa perniagaan ibu tunggal PWITUS mempunyai tahap dimensi orientasi
keusahawanan yang tinggi dan orientasi keusahawanan (EO) didapati mempunyai hubungan positif
yang signifikan dengan pertumbuhan perniagaan iaitu pada dimensi proaktif, mengambil risiko dan
autonomi. Keaslian kajian ini terletak pada usaha menyiasat satu segmen yang terdapat dalam
kelompok besar usahawan wanita di mana ibu tunggal mempunyai ciri khusus yang berpotensi
memberi impak dalam orientasi keusahawanan perniagaan yang diusahakan.

ABSTRACT

Retrenchment is a form of dismissal done by the employer when the role of the employees becomes
redundant whereas redundancy occurs when the position of the employee is no longer required. The
law gives liberty and flexibility for the company to manage its organization to maximise profits as long
as it is done in accordance with the law. Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on economy throughout
the world and Malaysia is no exception. Due to this pandemic, Malaysia has faced with economic
turbulence where many companies have suffered losses, revenues negatively affected and business is
crippled. To minimise the impact of the pandemic, many companies decided to restructure and thus
redundancy of position arises and retrenchment have been carried out. This article provides legal
insight the labour regulations, statutory provisions and current standing of court pertaining to this
matter. Although the law recognizes the practice of retrenchment and dismissal due to redundancy as
part of management prerogative right, the Bona Fide rule, Last In First Out (LIFO) principle, and
existing statutory provisions pertaining to labour law must be strictly observed and adhered to so as to
avoid legal litigation and unfair labour practice.

ABSTRACT

Training characteristics are very important to ensure training effectiveness; however, research
explaining the right training characteristics affecting individual effectiveness is limited. Hence, this
research was done to close the research gap by determining the effect of training characteristic on
individual effectiveness by analyzing essential training motivation as mediator. Data were analyzed
using SEM-AMOS among 203 Malaysian Public Service Officers attended training organized by The
Malaysian National Institute of Public Administration in 2016. Findings indicated that majority
respondents perceived the level of individual effectiveness as high. In addition, training content
familiarity followed by training relevant, training design, and training reputation were important
characteristics of a training program affecting individual effectiveness. Additionally, essential training
motivation partially mediated the relationship between training characteristics and individual
effectiveness. Significantly, research findings are important to determine the most important
characteristic of training in human resource development to ensure employees’ individual
effectiveness.

ABSTRAK

Radio RTM dikenali sebagai sumber informasi rasmi kerajaan dan juga membawa hiburan kepada
pendengar terutama bagi stesen radio negeri. Namun, dalam konteks menjaga dan mempopularkan
budaya tempatan, kandungan siaran radio negeri turut menyumbang populariti lantas menjadikannya
pilihan untuk didengari. Sehubungan itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk merungkai pengaruh peranan
budaya dalam kandungan siaran radio negeri yang menyumbang kepada populariti ini. Kajian ini
menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dengan rekabentuk temubual secara mendalam dengan 10 orang
informan yang merupakan pihak pengurusan dan penerbit di stesen radio Johor.fm, Kedah.fm,
Selangor.fm dan Kelantan.fm. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa peranan budaya dalam kandungan siaran
begitu signifikan yang menjadi identiti dalam menarik minat khalayak untuk terus mendengar siaran
di stesen radio negeri. Tuntasnya, khalayak tempatan masih terikat dengan konteks budaya dalam
menentukan tindakan mereka termasuk dalam memilih siaran radio yang dekat di hati mereka.

ABSTRAK

Kemunculan media sosial telah mengubah cara manusia berinteraksi dan seterusnya mampu
mempengaruhi pandangan manusia terhadap sesuatu perkara melalui individu yang berpengaruh dalam
media sosial tersebut. Kertas konsep ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan kesan dan pengaruh individu
yang berpengaruh dalam media sosial atau pemimpin pendapat dalam media sosial khususnya kepada
buat putusan oleh remaja. Perbincangan kertas konsep ini bersumberkan data sekunder daripada
penulisan dan pandangan sarjana-sarjana melalui hasil sorotan karya dan kajian lepas. Hasil
perbincangan menemui pemimpin pendapat dalam media sosial ini mampu mempengaruhi pandangan
pengikutnya dalam membuat keputusan terutama dari segi aspek tren jual beli terkini atas talian dan
gaya hidup yang diamalkan oleh individu yang berpengaruh yang diikuti dalam media sosial tersebut.

ABSTRAK

Borang merupakan salah satu alat penting bagi setiap organisasi disebabkan pelbagai peranannya
dalam membantu organisasi mengurus maklumat. Oleh itu, reka bentuk borang perlu memiliki elemen-
elemen kualiti tertentu bagi memastikan peranan tersebut dapat dilaksanakan dengan lancar dan
berkesan. Objektif kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti cadangan-cadangan bagi menambah baik reka
bentuk borang milik organisasi bernama Lembaga Zakat Selangor. Bagi mencapai objektif kajian,
analisis dilakukan terhadap reka bentuk borang-borang yang dipaparkan dalam laman sesawang
Lembaga Zakat Selangor. Hasil kajian mendapati terdapat tujuh cadangan penambahbaikan yang boleh
dilakukan untuk meningkatkan lagi kualiti reka bentuk borang-borang tersebut. Diharap hasil kajian
ini dapat membantu Lembaga Zakat Selangor khususnya dan lain-lain organisasi berkaitan pengurusan
zakat di Malaysia amnya, meningkatkan lagi kualiti reka bentuk borang-borang yang sedang
digunakan.

ABSTRACT

Effect of Entrepreneurial Orientation Dimensions on Firms’ Export
Performance: An Unexplored Route of Qualitative Research

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of EO dimensions on firms’ export
performance. The study has considered three dimensions of EO which are innovativeness,
proactiveness and risk-taking. Moreover, export performance has been measured through three
dimensions namely financial, strategic and satisfaction level performance of exporting firms. To find
the association between them qualitative approach face to face in-depth interviews were conducted to
the respondents from apparel manufacturing companies. The study has applied content analysis
technique to explore the EO and performance association. The research results reveal that
entrepreneurial orientation has strong effect on export performance. More specifically, the study has
found the strong impact of innovativeness and proactiveness on export performance whereas risk-
taking behaviour has no effects on export performance. The study has different implications which are
theoretical, managerial and social and policy-making aspects. The findings of the study are based on
the entrepreneurs and high-level managers’ opinions. Innovativeness has been considered product,
process and market innovation. Risk-taking has been considered under the ground of product
innovation risk and new market entry risk. Proactiveness has been measured under the factors of
proactive innovation, technology and new markets as a first-mover strategy. On the other hand,
multidimensional performance measures (financial, strategic and satisfaction) have been applied to
evaluate export performance. Therefore, this study has made it a unique qualitative study to determine
EO and performance relationship.

ABSTRACT

The goal of education is to emphasize the balance of content, skills and character development to
achieve a holistic education. Therefore, excellence is not only focused on the education system but also
on the results of the formation of human beings who receive education that adheres to the concept of
human excellence. Therefore, teachers or lecturers need to help and guide students to develop self-
potential in the context of fulfilling their responsibilities to Allah SWT, themselves, society, and the
environment. Effective monitoring of work performance is important to ensure the success of staff
development in an organization. Work performance is evaluated annually so that teaching takes place
in an environment that stimulates meaningful learning. This conceptual paper is produced based on the
analysis done on previous studies related to the evaluation criteria of lecturers by students. Effective
teaching requires lecturers to provide teaching materials that are able to be a reference for students as
well as able to convey it clearly and interestingly. Elements of humor should be applied in teaching so
that a harmonious learning environment can be created in addition to fair, friendly and approachable
to be among the criteria desired by students. Students should also be allowed to do activities in the
classroom that give them the freedom to use their own language in the way of learning they want.
Lecturer interactions with students help developing students’ values during learning in turn increase
their confidence level. Assessment of lecturers by students should be taken seriously to contribute to
the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process.

Self-Entrepreneurial Competencies and Entrepreneurial Mindset among
University Students

ABSTRACT

Entrepreneurship has been widely being practice especially amongst young people. They penetrating
into business environment through start-up or small business. One of the factors that influence their
intention to choose a career in entrepreneurship or business is due to the scarcity of jobs vacancy. The
employment are not guaranteed upon graduating. This has been an issue since 30% of local public
university graduates remained unemployed for 6 months (New Economic Model, 2008). Due to that,
Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) urge all public and private higher learning institutions to
develop entrepreneurial mindset through entrepreneurship education in the institutions. Rationally,
these students can be independent and able to create their own jobs and be self-employed. Hence, this
study will explore the level of self-entrepreneurial competencies and entrepreneurial mindset among
university students. This research used a quantitative research method to answer the research
questions. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaire by using cluster random
sampling, for a 150 sample of respondents. Findings indicated that university students partially have
high level of entrepreneurial mindset and discovered that the level of each dimensions of self-
entrepreneurial competencies was pretty moderate. The findings from the correlation analysis
between each dimension of self-entrepreneurial competencies with entrepreneurial mindset also
showed that there is a high correlation between those two variables. Followed by the regression
analysis, it was found that there is a significant different self-entrepreneurial competencies with
entrepreneurial mindset, with four predictors of entrepreneurial mindset have been determined
through the analysis which are innovative employee, connectedness, evaluation, and entrepreneurial
knowledge. The research findings from this study provides elements or reason to be used by the
educational stakeholders to plan a program or scheme to support the development of entrepreneurship
among students in the higher learning institutions.

ABSTRACT

The production of FFB according to quality requirements is necessary for smallholders of oil palm to
pay attention in the oil palm industry. Any discrepancy in the supply chain would affect their
productivity. Therefore, the owners must follow the right practices to remain efficient and ethical in
the production field. This study establishes a model and enables smallholders to build knowledge of
competition and commitment to standards. This research explains the implementation technique
utilizing the DDR (Design, Development and Research) approach, which involves three main phases:
the requirement analysis, design and development, and finally the usability evaluation of the proposed
model. The functionality analysis process identifies the need to create a concept based on a survey on
the topic of the project, and the design and development process focuses on the components and
elements involved in the design using Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) approach. The usability phase
utilizes Modified Nominal Group Technique (NGT). The research offers market perspectives into the
field of organizational characteristics, including the divisions and styles of operations involved in the
sale and production of FFB, the state-of-the-art processes and the elements involved in the
implementation of the model. The research will add to the information base in the area concerned and
act as a potential guide to other academics.

ABSTRACT

Kajian ini dilakukan adalah untuk melihat kesan pembelajaran atas talian dengan kaedah komunikasi
tidak bersemuka dalam kalangan pelajar Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor. Disebabkan
oleh arahan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan oleh kerajaan bermula Mac 2020, kebanyakan institusi awam
dan swasta termasuk sekolah melaksanakan pengajaran dan pembelajaran secara atas talian bagi
memastikan perjalanan pengajian pelajar tidak terganggu. Di KUIS pelajar perlu menggunakan
pelbagai platfom atas talian dalam memastikan kelansungan semester pengajian seperti
Googleclassrom, Googlemeet, KLMS dan Microsoft 360. Namun timbul beberapa isu di media sosial
dan akhbar, wujud beberapa kelemahan dan kekurangan pembelajaran secara atas talian berbanding
secara bersemuka. Menurut Menteri Kanan Pendidikan, Dr.Mohd Radzi Jidin, selain ia adalah satu
proses yang baru, terdapat juga kekangan dari pihak pelajar yang tidak mempunya akses internet yang
maksimum berpunca dari faktor kewangan, status keluarga dan faktor demografi (2020). Cabaran-
cabaran ini akan mempengaruhi emosi pelajar dan proses pembelajaran akan terganggu dan lebih
terhad. Oleh itu pengkaji ingin melihat apakah kekurangan dan kesan daripada pembelajaran atas talian
berbanding secara bersemuka. Oleh kerana pelajar Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor juga
menngikuti proses pembelajaran atas talian, maka pengkaji ingin melihat tahap keberkesanan pengajian
atas talian berbanding secara bersemuka di KUIS. Kajian ini juga ingin mendapat pandangan pelajar
samada pembelajaran atas talian lebih menarik berbanding secara bersemuka. Hasil kajian ini
diharapkan dapat membantu pensyarah dalam memastikan cara atau kaedah pembelajaran yang sesuai
dilaksanakan pada masa kini.

ABSTRACT

Online business has progressively been introduced as it promotes economic growth by allowing online
shops to compete in a competitive market. There are few determinants of success that make it difficult
to differentiate a good business on the Internet. In addition, this determinant factor would make it easier
to gain a strong competitive advantages for market growth. This research studied on the determinant
factor to a successful online business in fashion industry. The purpose of this study is to find out the
relationship between the successful online business with all the independent variables which are online
trust, website quality and content, and brand awareness. The findings were find out and collected
through questionnaire that were distributed through online platform, such as WhatsApp, Facebook and
other media social. The respondents of the questionnaire were selected through convenience sampling
and the questionnaire were distributed to 200 respondents. This study used quantitative research
method and all the data analysis was run by using SPSS. In this study also, the researcher used
reliability analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis in order to run the analysis.
The findings indicated that all of the three independent variables, online trust, website quality and
content and brand awareness are significant towards the dependent variable. Moreover, online trust
data shows the highest relationship which contributes to the major determinants factor to a successful
online business.

ABSTRACT

The recent economic conditions continue to draw significant attention to the multitude of risks
organizations faced as they pursue strategic goals. Public and non-profit organizations (NPO) are not
an exception when it comes to risks that can challenge their service delivery system and growth
sustainability. Their unique features and limited resources require them to adopt and adapt different
risk management tools and methods as compared to the corporate organizations. Specifically, the risk
management approach adopted in public organizations and NPOs have not been significantly
addressed. Hence, this paper aims to explore the development of risk management in public
organizations and NPOs. By conducting systematic review of literatures, 27 papers published in the
Scopus and Web of Science since 2010 until recent year have been selected and analysed. Findings
from the literature analysis found there are various types of risks that may occur in these organizations
and demonstrate the factors and importance of adopting risk management practices. However, a holistic
approach is still not diffused nor sufficiently developed in both public and not-for profit sectors.
Researches on successful delivery of risk management is still dearth, which creates a huge research gap
thus still an area worth researching. The findings from this literature analysis suggest that an instrument
or tool to evaluate the practices of risk management system is required. Thus, this paper serves the
basis for further empirical research on risk management practices of public and non-profit
organizations.

ABSTRAK

Pembaziran sumber tenaga bukanlah satu isu yang baharu. Pertumbuhan populasi disamping
peningkatan penggunaan gajet menyumbang kepada peratusan penggunaan tenaga yang tinggi dalam
kalangan masyarakat dunia. Malaysia sebagai satu negara yang juga terlibat dalam perubahan arus
digital juga tidak ketinggalan menghadapi masalah pembaziran penggunaan tenaga. Krisis pandemik
Covid-19 mencatatkan penggunaan tenaga elektrik dan air yang tinggi serta luar biasa dalam kalangan
masyarakat hingga menimbulkan ketegangan antara pihak pengguna dan pemberi perkhidmatan.
Penggunaan elektrik umpamanya meningkat dari 20 peratus hingga 50 peratus sepanjang tempoh
Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) yang bermula pada 18 Mac 2020. Justeru itu amatlah penting
menekankan penggunaan tenaga yang cekap selari dengan saranan kerajaan untuk melaksanakan
amalan hijau dalam kalangan masyarakat dan juga industri. Pendedahan dan maklumat berkenaan
amalan hijau perlu disebarkan di sekolah-sekolah dan juga institusi pengajian tinggi yang mana usaha
ini mampu menyumbang kepada kecekapan penggunaan sumber. Sebagaimana yang diketahui,
golongan remaja, pelajar dan mahasiswa banyak menggunakan gajet dan peralatan teknologi yang
mana ianya akan menyumbang kepada peningkatan penggunaan sumber. Justeru itu kajian ini
dilaksanakan untuk mengenalpasti tahap pengetahuan dan pelaksanaan mahasiswa terhadap amalan
hijau. Selain itu, kajian juga akan menganalisa pengaruh pengetahuan amalan hijau terhadap
pelaksanaan amalan hijau. Seramai 100 orang mahasiswa dari pelbagai program pengajian terlibat
dalam kajian ini. Hasil analisis kajian menggunakan perisian SPSS mendapati tahap pengetahuan
mahasiswa terhadap amalan hijau adalah tinggi. Manakala analisis regrasi pula mendapati pengetahuan
mengenai amalan hijau hanya menyumbang sebanyak 40 peratus kepada pelaksanaan amalan hijau. Ini
menunjukkan walaupun mahasiswa memang telah didedahkan dengan maklumat, pendidikan dan
penerapan amalan hijau, kempen dan program berkenaan amalan hijau perlu lebih ditingkatkan.
Diharapkan seiring pengetahuan yang baik mengenai kepentingan dan pelaksanaan amalan hijau dapat
digarapkan dalam amalan seharian mahasiswa yang mana akan memberi manfaat pada institusi
pengajian serta masyarakat.

kebanyakan pusat pengajian tinggi menjalankan proses pdp secara atas talian di mana ia menggunakan
rangkaian elektronik untuk penyampaian isi kandungan, interaksi ataupun pemudahcaraan antara
pelajar dan pensyarah. Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengenal pasti tahap penerimaan dan faktor
yang mempengaruhi penerimaan pelajar terhadap e-pembelajaran dalam subjek pengiraan iaitu
Business Mathemtics dan Statitics di Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor. Faktor-faktor yang
diuji di dalam kajian ini ialah kualiti maklumat, kecekapan penggunaan IT, kemudahan teknologi,
kualiti sistem dan personaliti individu. Seramai 172 orang pelajar terlibat dalam kajian ini yang
mengambil subjek Business Mathematics dan Statistics. Kaedah analisis kajian yang digunakan adalah
berbentuk kuantitatif dan deskriptif. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan adalah terdiri daripada satu set
borang soal selidik yang dibuat menggunakan google form dan mengandungi 40 item soalan yang
menggunakan skala Likert dan 2 item soalan terbuka. Data yang diperolehi dianalisis dengan
menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) yang merangkumi taburan
frekuensi, min dan sisihan piawai. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa faktor kualiti sistem
mempunyai hubungan positif yang paling signifikan terhadap penerimaan e-pembelajaran dalam
subjek pengiraan dalam kalangan pelajar. Berdasarkan daripada dapatan yang diperolehi, cadangan
penambahbaikan diutarakan bagi mencapai matlamat penggunaan sistem e-pembelajaran sebagai
medium pembelajaran dan pengajaran serta meningkatkan kualiti pembelajaran dan pengajaran di
Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor.

Perubahan iklim yang berlaku seperti perubahan musim, keadaan cuaca melampau mempunyai risiko
untuk berlakunya bencana. Analisis yang tepat sesuatu keadaan cuaca seringkali mengalami masalah
atas ketiadaan data cerapan bagi semua tempat di sesebuah kawasan. CORDEX-Southeast Asia
(SEACLID) telah menghasilkan model RCM IPSL-CM5A-LR bagi menganggar amaun hujan pada
resolusi yang lebih tinggi. Justeru, model IPSL-CM5A-LR digunakan untuk mencapai objektif pertama
iaitu membandingkan data model yang dijana pada grid bersaiz 0.25˚ dengan data cerapan hujan bagi
5 stesen di negeri Pahang. Objektif kedua yang digariskan adalah untuk mengkaji keberkesanan
pembetulan pincang model dalam menganggar amaun hujan manakala objektif ketiga bertujuan
mengesan sebarang perubahan dalam trend bagi indeks kehujanan ekstrim yang dikenalpasti menerusi
ETCCDI. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan model IPSL-CM5A-LR dapat menganggar amaun hujan lebih
baik setelah pembetulan pincang dilaksanakan selain daripada terdapat beberapa indeks kehujanan
ekstrim ETCCDI yang dikenalpasti mempunyai trend menokok.

ABSTRACT

The study aims to investigate the impact of big data analytic on the marketing strategies involving
promoting education business. The study also aims to prevail the emotions involve in devising
marketing strategies using big data analytic. The study adopts qualitative approach as to investigate in
depth on the how the impact on planning the market strategies as perceived by the management team
of the education industry. In this study sampling will be drawn using non-probability sampling which
adopts case study on one company that runs eleven colleges and one University College. The study
will focus only on undergraduate students. The study also examines the effect of competitive
intelligence as the mediating variable in this study. The study expect a positive impact of big data
analytic on the marketing strategies adopted by the colleges and university and how the manipulation
of the big data benefited the colleges and university in devising their marketing strategies aiming at
more students recruitments which then can be translated into sales volumes and firms performance.

ABSTRACT

The National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 identifies the importance of entrepreneurship as a social
approach to overcome the middle income trap. Involvement of all society layers, especially the B40
groups, women, youth, and Orang Asli, will contribute to the nation’s socioeconomic development
particularly through increased investment and job creations. Past literatures have shown consistent
interest among scholars in addressing the importance of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.
Interestingly, the literatures also indicate that entrepreneurship is a good venture to be embarked by ex-
convicts as an alternative way to finding decent jobs. Although ex-convicts look forward to start their
lives anew, the negative perception of society has made it difficult for them to get jobs. Building from
the entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship literatures, the aim of this paper is to put forth a
proposal for uplifting the lives of ex-convicts through social entrepreneurship. The paper also
highlights how ex-convicts could leverage on digitalization in becoming social entrepreneurs. Some
individual and contextual challenges in relation to the issue are also discussed along with suggestions
to overcome it.

Pencarian maklumat kesihatan merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam konteks pendidikan
kesihatan dalam kalangan masyarakat. Kajian ini bertujuan mengenalpasti keperluan maklumat serta
tingkah laku pencarian pencarian maklumat kesihatan dalam kalangan pelajar. Kajian secara kuantitatif
dengan menggunakan kaedah tinjauan di mana soal selidik diedarkan menggunakan link Google Form.
Data dianalisis menggunakan perisian “Statistical Package of the Social Sciences” (SPSS) secara
deskriptif. Hasil kajian ini dapat menjelaskan tentang kerperluan maklumat merupakan faktor penting
yang dapat menggalakkan tingkah laku pencarian maklumat kesihatan. Oleh yang demikian, pencarian
maklumat kesihatan yang aktif dalam kalangan pelajar dapat memberi impak yang yang positif
terhadap pengurusan kesihatan yang menyumbang terhadap penanda aras kualiti kesihatan yang baik
terutamanya dalam kalangan generasi muda.

ABSTRACT

The Islamic accounting concepts consist various dimensions including social welfare, social justice,
sincerity, loyalty and trustworthiness. The recognition on social justice based on the relationship to
Allah SWT and relationship to mankind is the utterance of social accountability relations between
interest parties. The Islamic accounting conception is driven from the Islamic values of business
transactions particularly from the support from the Islamic financial management. Therefore, the paper
discusses on the fundamental base of Islamic accounting conception to the public spheres in attaining
sustainable growth and financial stability. Consequently, this paper aims to investigate the Islamic
accounting concepts within the Islamic philosophical stances and scrutinise the requirements within
the Islamic accounting spectrum for recording Islamic transactions conducted by Islamic management
entities. The interpretive position is employed by undertaking five interviews for contemplating its
procedures and routines in addressing the research objectives. The documentary review was conducted
through interpretive inquiry of the texts mainly from the al-Quran, Hadiths and other specific
literatures. In-depth content analysis has been undertaken to investigate the Islamic accounting
concepts and scrutinise on the possible ways to securing sustainable growth and financial stability in
the Islamic society. The findings reflect the Islamic accounting concepts has to be motivated from the
Islamic epistemological stances in seeking for the true knowledge, particularly in delineating the
contribution of Islamic financial management entities and ensuring the distribution of wealth to people
in need. The Islamic accounting concept highlights the operationalization, management and
implementation of Islamic financial management entities to accommodate social needs and social
welfare. In summary, the paper suggests a thorough future research to be conducted in extending the
accounting for Islamic financial management entities. The development will accommodate social
welfare through appropriate distribution of wealth that indirectly reduced the poverty level within the
social community and retaining for sustainable growth.

Dalam era globalisasi ini, komunikasi amat penting dalam melengkapi kehidupan seseorang.
Dengan adanya komunikasi yang berkesan, informasi dapat disampaikan dan disebarkan ke
serata pelusuk dunia. Di samping itu, fungsi lain komunikasi juga mampu untuk mempengaruhi
sikap, nilai dan kepercayaan. Komunikasi memainkan peranan, di mana seseorang individu
perlu menggunakan kemahiran komunikasi yang baik untuk mengubah perspektif orang
disekeliling. Oleh kerana itu, menggunakan komunikasi yang baik dan berkesan seseorang
individu mampu untuk mempengaruhi pemikiran individu-individu yang lain. Komunikasi kini
telah berevolusi, dimana komunikasi juga berlaku di dalam bentuk digital atau teknologi.
Dalam era ledakan maklumat ini, teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi amat penting.
Komunikasi digital membantu dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di sekolah dan juga
di Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT). Namun kini, sikap pelajar yang kurang membaca
menyebabkan mahasiswa kini kurang berpengetahuan dan seterusnya menyebabkan mereka
tidak berani dan gagal dalam memberikan idea yang hebat ketika sesi perbincangan dalam
kelas dan dalam berkomunikasi. Renteten itu, kecanggihan teknologi ini juga mengakibatkan
pelajar kurang kemahiran berkomunikasi secara lisan dan masalah kurang kemahiran
berkomunikasi di kalangan pelajar sering mejadi alasan majikan mengapa ramai graduan gagal
dalam mendapatkan sesebuah pekerjaan.

ABSTRAK

Pengekalan pekerja amat penting dan perlu dititikberatkan bagi menjamin kelangsungan sesebuah organisasi.
Kajian ini membincangkan peranan tekanan sebagai penyederhana dalam hubungan antara sokongan
organisasi dengan hasrat untuk kekal dalam kalangan pekerja teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi. Objektif
kajian ini dijalankan adalah bagi mengenal pasti tahap tekanan kerja dan hasrat untuk kekal dalam kalangan
pekerja dan menganalisis peranan tekanan kerja sebagai penyederhana dalam hubungan antara sokongan
organisasi dengan hasrat untuk kekal dalam kalangan pekerja. Bagi mencapai objektif ini, borang soal selidik
telah digunakan sebagai kaedah pengumpulan data dalam kajian ini dan telah diedarkan kepada 150 orang
pekerja di sebuah jabatan kerajaan terpilih. Manakala kaedah analisis yang digunakan untuk menganalisis
data adalah menggunakan skor min dan regrasi. Data yang diperoleh diproses menggunakan perisian
Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) versi 23.0. Hasil kajian mendapati nilai skor min bagi
pengekalan pekerja berada didalam tahap yang tinggi iaitu sebanyak 52%, manakala bagi tekanan kerja
berada didalam tahap sederhana tinggi iaitu sebanyak 54.7%. Tekanan kerja didapati tidak menyumbang
secara signifikan terhadap pengekalan pekerja (β=-0.067, p>0.05) namun sokongan organisasi menyumbang
secara signifikan terhadap pengekalan pekerja (β=0.354, p<0.05). Tekanan kerja memainkan peranan sebagai
faktor penyederhana (hubungan signifikan) dalam hubungan antara sokongan organisasi dan pengekalan
pekerja (β=0.201, p<0.05). Kesimpulan daripada kajian ini mendapati tekanan kerja memainkan satu peranan
iaitu sebagai faktor penyederhana (pure moderator). Ini menunjukkan tekanan kerja akan memberi kesan
secara tidak langsung terhadap pengekalan pekerja.

ABSTRAK

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti hubungan tekanan pekerjaan ke atas kesihatan mental guru.
Di samping itu, faktor tekanan pekerjaan yang paling dominan turut dikenalpasti. Bagi mencapai
objektif ini, kajian telah dilakukan ke atas guru Pusat Asuhan Tunas Islam (PASTI) di Kuala Langat,
Selangor. Sebanyak 84 set borang soal selidik telah diedarkan menggunakan aplikasi Google Form.
Daripada jumlah itu, seramai 71 orang responden telah memberikan kerjasama dan menjawab soal
selidik dengan sempurna. Kaedah kuantitatif digunakan dalam menentukan hubungan antara kesemua
pembolehubah tidak bersandar (Tekanan Pekerjaan) dengan pembolehubah bersandar (Kesihatan
Mental). Penyelidik menggunakan soal selidik (Noordeyana dan Siti Zulaikha, 2019) berskala Likert
Ridwan sebagai instrumen mengukur faktor tekanan pekerjaan manakala bagi mengukur tahap
kesihatan mental, penyelidik menggunakan Ujian DASS berdasarkan 21 item (Ramli, Mohd Arif dan
Zaini, 2007). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan faktor karenah pelajar dan tanggungjawab terhadap kerja
mempengaruhi kesihatan mental guru. Kajian ini juga menunjukkan faktor karenah pelajar adalah yang
paling dominan mempengaruhi kesihatan mental guru.

ABSTRAK

Keinginan untuk berhenti didefinisikan sebagai proses seseorang pekerja yang berniat untuk
meninggalkan pekerjaan sediaada atau kesediaan seseorang pekerja untuk keluar dari organisasi.
Secara jujurnya, kelebihan dan kemahiran seseorang pekerja tidak boleh didapati atau sama dengan
pekerja baru. Oleh itu, ia menjadi satu keperluan untuk mengekalkan seseorang pekerja yang berkualiti
adalah penting bagi majikan dan organisasi untuk menghadapi cabaran dalam persaingan global yang
semakin sengit hari ini. Pusingganti pekerja sudah menjadi isu yang sangat penting bagi kebanyakan
organisasi dan mendapat perhatian kerana melibatkan prestasi organisasi. Walaubagaimanapun, untuk
mengekalkan pekerja, pihak organisasi tidak dapat melepaskan diri dari mendedahkan tenaga kerja
mereka ke tahap tekanan kerja yang lebih tinggi untuk mencapai matlamat dan sasaran yang tinggi.
Oleh itu, objektif utama kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengenalpasti hubungan antara budaya
organisasi, komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja terhadap keinginan untuk berhenti dalam kalangan
pekerja restoren makanan segera di Aeon Mall Bandaraya Melaka. Seramai 100 orang pekerja telah
diberikan borang soal selidik. Kajian ini telah menggunakan Statistical Package for Social Science
(SPSS) versi 21 untuk menganalisis data kajian. Analisis deskriptif dan korelasi telah dijalankan dan
hasil menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan di antara budaya organisasi, komitmen
organisasi dan kepuasan kerja terhadap keinginan untuk berhenti.
