!‫الحمد لله! الله أكبر‬ When this verse was presented to the entire world in grandeur,

hundreds of people who attended the event had their hearts guided

by Allah and converted to Islam. This fact alone reminds us that a

single verse of the Quran is capable of such feat and the miracle that

it carries. Imagine the miracle that can be created if 6236 verses were

presented. It is a beautiful thought that humbles the human mind and

develops how it can understand Allah better.

A few days after, a wonderful occurrance transpired at the art store.

The owner was a Chinese old lady, she was playing a record of

quranic recitation. As I was paying, she suddenly spoke up that the

recitation calms her heart and elaborated how calm she felt at the

church but the Quranic recitation calms her more, she explained that

she does not understand how conflicts occur due to the Quran. I was

gleeful beyond words as it was a chance for me to promote Islam.

The perfect verse to recite back to her was the exact verse recited by

Ghanim Al-Muftah at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

I want to find, by the end of this journey, that our hearts are united by

the Book of Allah.

The Vision Forest originated from a dream of the longest night I have
ever experienced in my life that certainly put me into a shock when I
woke up in the morning. It wasn’t a nightmare nor was it a dream of
blessing. However, it thus stuck in my mind for a while until it slowly
faded from my memory over the years. I remember how I got lost
into the woods with glistering and rainbow trunks shone by the
lights of the sun. It was the most memorable part of the dreams and
I shall keep it both mentally and physically in memories and art
form.

The keris, a heritage of Malay history, represents humankind itself.
Becoming a canvas itself created from 3D printing technology, it has
a total of five (5) different layers of color which tells the life story of
each human born into this world. First layer is white, painted in only
one direction; representing the clean white slate of every newborn,
regardless of what background their parents are. Second layer is
gray, painted in many directions; as newborns grow older, they start
to absorb the world around them. Third layer is reddish orange,
painted in many directions with rough textures; representing the
shaping of one’s identity (personality, race, etc.) Fourth layer is red;
mimicking the action of lunging the keris into an enemy’s body,
twisting and pulling it out, it represents mistakes and sacrifices that
each human inevitably makes. In a deeper sense, this particular red
represents the sacrifices of my Malay ancestors in fighting
numerous colonizers to defend this very land, and most importantly,
to defend Islam. Fifth and final layer is green, mimicking the action of
gripping the handle; every human being will surely return to Him.
Mistakes are to be repented, sacrifices are made with Him as the
main intention, and every life experience are to be used to protect
and raise Islam in each different era.

Food is an important part of my identity as someone who lived
internationally for most of my life and struggled with my cultural
identity. I had little to no hold on my identity as a Malaysian, but
what kept me rooted was my mother’s adamant attempts to
recreate Malaysian food in a foreign environment. And this was the
same experience most of my friends had after moving out of their
respective countries at a young age.

The painting conveys that food is an essential part of our culture
and identity, as well as a means of sharing our cultures with others. I
have attempted to represent as much food as possible as an ode to
the friends I hold dear to my heart, especially those who have
struggled with their own identities. For where there is good food,
there is good company. And where there is both, there’s love.

which are the finest art forms in Islam. The overall art represents
The Gold of Ramadan three holiest things in Islam which are the holy Quran, the holy
2021 month of Ramadan and the holy Kaaba, Mecca. This relates that
A1 (59.4 x 84.1 cm) Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) received his first revelation in the Cave
of Hira, Mecca, in Ramadan.

The Arabic calligraphy with gold colour symbolizes something very
valuable in Islam. "The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was
revealed the Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of
guidance and criterion" (Al-baqarah: 185).

If we rotate this Art horizontally to the right and to the left, we can
see the number 10 and 01. This means the final 10 days of
Ramadan are considered the most essential opportunities for
worship in order to get “Laylat al-Qadr". The number 01 means the
first verses of the Quran were revealed to our Prophet in Ramadan.
The Islamic Geometry with silver colour in this art symbolizes the
shape of the door or gate. This related to the hadith: "When
Ramadan begins, the gates of Jannah are opened, the gates of Hell
are closed, and the devils are chained"
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

This art designed with Arabic calligraphy and Tezhib ornament
which are the finest art forms in Islam. The overall art represents the
name of IIUM Rector Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dzulkifli Abdul
Razak written in Arabic calligraphy and decorated with the Islamic
Geometry inspired from the Rectory Building (Muhammad Abdul-
Rauf Building). He is a Golden Person of IIUM who has served as the
6th Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia since 1
August 2018, who contributes his experience and leadership to
administer IIUM towards excellence and place the university as a
global centre for reference in Islamic knowledge. The eight corners
of the Islamic Geometry in this art symbolize among the
characteristics of IIUM logo which represent the different branches
of human knowledge or academic disciplines which spring from the
same source i.e., Revelation and Tawheed. The corners point in
different directions, yet they are united by the principle of Ibadah,

There are no fairer hands than the ones that It was the peak time where I was into arts and really want to

doodle arts on Youtube since it became a trend in my school,
thus I wish to learn new things as well. However, all the
doodles I searched were too basic and boring whenever I
searched “doodles” or “doodle arts” on google images, so I
tried to find something new via Youtube. Long behold, I finally
found my fav doodle art style by Vexx. For me personally, I
think the way he expresses his feelings by doing doodles is
unlike any other generic doodle arts. Thus I keep learning and
practicing on random papers at random times (even during
classes), just to match his artstyle for me to learn his way.
Thus, this art was created on my very first page of my art
journal volume 2 and will always be my first thing to watch
everytime I open the journal.

The Chi Mountain The story of the arts is heavily inspired by the movie Kungfu Panda 3
2018 that was released 2 years ago and gave alot of intentions into
animation and arts. Same as the movie, this artwork also has a story
on how I wanted to improve my skills in water painting during
highschool projects for SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) next year.

It was such a pleasant day with a gentle breeze of the time blowing
the wind of imagination for me to do the art. The surrounding peace
strongly reminds me of how someone who could control everything
is by controlling themselves, by inner peace. Thus a suitable place
such as where an infamous Master Oogway train to find peace is at

There's always a time when I feel hopeless and tired. Thinking about
my health, wealth and life and the pressure got my mind clouded.
Sometimes I feel like giving up. There's nothing I can escape to until I
find Allah. For every Ibadah I did, my heart feels lighter and at more
ease. I can see myself being happy again and start to try enjoying
my life for the time being. I started to do things I like such as video
games and online entertainment. Being too absorbed with these
things, I was distracted by the worldly pleasure. Subconsciously I do
less and less Ibadah. And thus the circle repeats. DISTRACTED,
REGRET, REPENT.

This is inspired by a Malay idiom, “Masa itu emas” (“Time is gold”)
that is used to showcase the importance of time to us. It also serves
as a reminder, as well as a lesson on how precious time is and that it
should not be wasted— not even for a single moment because once
it is used, or left wasted, you can no longer get it back nor rewind the
time.

In English, they also have the same idiom which is “Time is money”,
which also implies a similar meaning.

Both of the flowers that are painted are the flowers that are dubbed
as July’s birth flowers; larkspur and waterlily. Of course, as many
things, the those flowers also come with their meaning.

Larkspur symbolizes the strong bond of love. The bond can be of
anything from familial love, to platonic to romantic love. It can also
symbolizes positivity and dedication — which can be related to
strong bond of love. Waterlily, on the other hand, symbolizes purity
and innocence. If one can combine these two flowers into one
sentiment, it takes a lot for a person to create a strong bond of love,
which also retained its purity and innocence, but if they put in a lot
of dedication and positivity into it, the bond can last.

The simple art of one hand holding a bouquet of flowers with a tied
Enchanted blue ribbon. This art piece depicts survival oneself by holding on to
2022 all of the emotions bundled up together. The various colors of
flowers and the blue ribbon symbolize feelings. White flowers for
Konsepsi youthfulness and innocence, red flowers for passion and anger, pink
2019 flowers for love, and green leaves for growth. The abundance of
Gouache on Paper emotions was tied with a blue ribbon representing serenity and
20.8 × 14.6 cm calm. The purpose of this art piece is to help people with
overwhelming feelings to understand that not everything is under
our control, but we can choose which feelings to feel and which to
ignore.

Roses are usually known as flowers that symbolize love, passion,
friendship, relationship, and many more. Not only that, but roses are
also popular with its thorn along their greenish stem. The following
piece represents an enchantment of flowers as they bloom and
attract butterflies. The thorns keep the roses safe. Among the
bloomed flowers, the roses’ thorn was hidden from plain sight.
Beauty attracts all, but in beauty lies dangers. Realizing that we
should never simply get attracted to outer appearances is the
purpose embodied in this painting. However there was no danger
lies in this painting, may you all be enchanted by this painting.
In English, they also have the same idiom which is “Time is money”,
which also implies a similar meaning.

The painting is a remake of a still life sculpture Comedian (fresh
banana duct taped to a wall) made in 2019. A conceptual artwork
by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. The artwork sold at a price of
$120000 and made the internet question its worth. The artist states
that Comedian is to show how rich people are clueless about the
price of a banana. Some gave bad opinions and some took a positive
opinion about it. This to show konsepsi about people's points of
views. And for me, Comedian is a genius artwork. What say you?

The artwork is a painting of a person’s hands playing a piano pieces
with a normal human right hand and a lego hand for the left's. The
painting didn't really focus on the person's hands, instead it focuses
for the whole picture situations. The painting sets in a soft dark cool
tone to represent the music pieces the person is playing. The piece of
lego hand showed the stiffness of the person's hand to play the
music and somehow made the picture stuck in motions of silence.

The world now or at the end of this age, new things appear which
can make people more careless with the world. Everywhere there is
more and more entertainment and it is increasing. For example,
entertainment clubs, gambling and others and when we become
more negligent, we may forget Allah and fall into the valley. Finally,
Allah will also forget us. Therefore, by getting closer to God and
religion will keep us away from forbidden and negligent things. Find
the right path when you are on the wrong path. And beg forgiveness
from Allah for the sin committed because indeed Allah is Forgiving
and we must not delay repentance.

Khaulah al-Azwar, known as Arab Muslim warrior, is a brave Muslim
woman who fought in the war against the Roman army. She is
reliable in using weapons and riding the horse. This makes her a
great Muslim woman. Therefore, Khaulah al-Azwar is the best
example for Muslims, especially among women. This will strengthen
the spirit and perseverance of women. Not only do we need to be
strong physically but also mentally. With that, we will acquire good
characters and do good deeds. Khaulah is also a good example for
people because she is always closer to Allah such as reciting the al-
Quran. So that, as a Muslim, we need to do what is good and what
the religion order us to do to make us become a good muslim and
muslimah.

The kalimah/sentence showed from the mozaic is "Bismillâh ar-
Rahmân ar-Rahîm", the sentence that Muslims say in every
beginning of any actions. It corresponds to the blue color which
represents the color of water; the beginning of every living thing
{and We made from water every living thing.} [Quran, 21:30].

As it is inspired by Syed Naquib Al Attas in the explanation of his art;
"the fish is moving in the sea without a shore, the Sea of Absolute
Being (al-wujûd al-mutlaq)", then that action will not be easy. It has
a lot of mozaic; that if humans are unable to arrange it will be
broken, and if it is arranged correctly the beauty will be seen.

The Horizontal was created to symbolize my wonder about the
ocean. How deep an ocean could be and how far its horizon can be
seen. The strong waves could be roaring but still, humans find their
healing. Why does staring at the ocean feel so calming and
peaceful? Where did the feeling come from but we are not visiting it
often? Then, I realized that The Creator of the ocean put the feelings
for us to think, He is Allah the Greatest after all.

This painting was created based on the photo I took at IIUM Kuantan
during my CFS time. I named it "The Safe Place" because I want to
remember every person that I called as my safe place everytime I
look at this painting. Not so many, but they are there for me. Dear
my safe place, you know who you are. So, thank you ;).

Next, I am also using some impressionist techniques where I express
my own emotions in the painting freely without focusing on detail
too much.

This art is to show the fantasy of my inner soul that have been
dreaming to become an amazing artist but still waiting for the right
time to achieve it. The pink little human on top of the cloud at the
left side is me now looking at my dream. At the same time, I want to
describe this art with another meaning which is dare to live by
letting go as I find myself willing to let go of my dream as I’m
moving forward with what I have currently doing now and enjoying
my life. Because sometimes I feel like this dream is quite impossible
for me to achieve and I want to stop chasing for it. I believe, a little
lost will be the result of me finding a lot of mysterious things that
able to open my eyes to see other side of me. But still, I’m just going
to be a little human with a big dream as I pictured in this art.

Watercolour on paper There is often a misconception about the sea - monsters lurk in its
A3 depths, unknown beasts that have been around for thousands of
years.
In truth, the high seas are a prime example of God's Greatness:
beautiful creatures of all shapes and colours call the depths their
home. This piece highlights the beauty stored within our oceans, a
beauty that so many are ignorant of.

b. 1998, Pahang A Home, Once and Forever
2022
This is my first acrylic on canvas painting, and I chose to paint my Acrylic on Canvas
second home, IIUM. Painting this piece has been both challenging 30x30cm
and emotional. Apart from learning and making mistakes as I paint, I
have reminisced many memories made since 2017, until today, my
final semester here. This painting depicts the aerial view of IIUM’s
buildings and its beautiful nature backdrop, which are the blue sky
with fluffy clouds, the magnificent hill and green forest, together
with the big shady trees along the roads in the campus. The
picturesque scenery of IIUM has always been one of its special
values, providing serenity and tranquility to fellow students. The
striking blue roof and mesmerizing green nature here interestingly
defines IIUM, and will surely resonate to all those who have been
here, always, and thus, will be forever engraved in my heart too.

In this piece, I painted a view from a small bridge in the center of
IIUM campus. I have lovingly worked into this piece, exploring new
colors, techniques and opening doors to creativity in expressing and
realizing my vision. This wooden dark brown bridge has a special
place in my heart. The shady heavenly trees towering in front of the
Azman Hashim Complex highlight the inclusion of nature in between
the structures of the campus, which is always pleasant to the eyes.
With the river flowing underneath, it is a cherry on top to the
exquisiteness of IIUM’s nature inside the campus. This bridge has
witnessed laughter and sadness of everyone here, offering solace to
those who crossed it, in the nature it presents, beneath and ahead.

In her journey to find inspiration, her gaze set upon herself. Realizing
the true beauty she longed for..
How can I be so blind.
As an artist we always search for something to admire. Never did
they know there was someone to find us admiring.
We usually interpret beauty as a physical appearance as we see
from magazines, entertainment television and models.
beauty comes from the inner self. Natural and real beauty is created
from within the heart of individuals. When a real beauty develops, it
is expressed as a charming, attractive, and glamorous soul that is
hard for one to contain.

experience. For most people, graduation is a memorable day. It is
hard for them to forget it even after a hundred years. The smiley
faces, cried of joy from parents, and the scream of joy. The robe is
from IIUM which is from my university. I cant wait to graduate next
year. I hope it goes well

I was fascinated by the color of Sakura’s flower petals, and
what Japanese people thought of it. People in Japan think 23
that this lovely blossom represents life's hope. There are
several lessons that can be drawn from the meaning or
actual meaning of this pink blossom. This flower encourages
people to be grateful in any circumstances, that there are
always joys and tragedies, life and death. Furthermore, locals
think that this pink blossom is one of the flowers that offers
good luck and abundance of prosperity. This flower, which is
said to be the mother of life, is utilized as a symbol of hope,
defining a life full of hope and a bright future.
