4 35YEARS FINANCIAL SERVICES CONFERENCE Dear NASP Colleagues, Sponsors, and Partners, On behalf of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Securities Professionals, it is my distinct honor to welcome you to NASP’s 35th Annual Financial Services Conference. Every year, the NASP community gathers for two days to build on our respective connectivity, to further our education, and to recommit to advocacy. This year’s conference is particularly meaningful as it takes place in Atlanta, the home of one of our founders – Maynard H. Jackson Jr. – who was inaugurated as Mayor of this great city fifty years ago. Mayor Jackson was a fierce and unabashed advocate for inclusion and we at NASP continue to follow the trail that he blazed in leveling the playing field for people of color in the financial services industry. I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for the collective effort and dedication that have made NASP the respected and influential association it is today. Together, and over the years, we have built a vibrant community of financial services professionals, united in our commitment to the NASP mission and to advancing the notion of inclusion in the financial services sector. Our shared passion for innovation, collaboration, and engagement has propelled NASP to the forefront of our industry. I would especially like to thank our sponsors, corporate partners, asset owners, and other important stakeholders for their full-throated alignment with the mission of NASP – we appreciate your support and look forward to further engagement with you in the weeks, months, and years to come. NASP has always been synonymous with “excellence”, and you will see that excellence on display over the next two days. The depth of expertise of the NASP membership in new industries, nontraditional sectors and subsectors, and undervalued geographies is remarkable, and during the conference you will hear from senior financial services professionals and policymakers alike, whose experience and perspectives will drive rich discussion and provide opportunities for education for the NASP membership. We invite you to explore sessions outside of your area of expertise as we can collectively benefit from the global perspectives provided during your time in Atlanta. Finally, we implore you to build on your connections and take away new ones from like-minded professionals in the industry, as support and collaboration will lift the NASP membership to new heights. In short, enjoy “NASP” and all that it has to offer. Thank you for your commitment, your support, and your partnership and we look forward to an amazing Financial Services Conference in Atlanta. Sincerely, Erik Hall Erik Hall Board Chair, NASP
5 35YEARS FINANCIAL SERVICES CONFERENCE Greetings to Everyone, Welcome to the 35th Annual NASP Financial Services Conference. It is timely that 2024 has brought us to Atlanta, a city with much history and prominence in the expansion of the societal engagement of Black and Brown Americans in this country. This year especially, NASP commemorates the legacy of Maynard Holbrook Jackson Jr., and we celebrate and rededicate ourselves to the legacy of inclusion he established during his first term as mayor of Atlanta. This vision of a truly inclusive workforce, economy, and country is one that resonates not just within the U.S. but is shared internationally. During this conference, many international asset owners and financial service practitioners will be identifying issues and exploring solutions that generate value through inclusion, alongside US peers. We thank the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) based in South Africa for their strategic partnership with NASP. As new (and old) challenges arise to diversity, NASP must identify, demonstrate and help enhance the economic impact of inclusion for stakeholders in the financial services industry. We applaud and will highlight many of our corporate sponsors, partners, aligned organizations and other industry stakeholders that are here in support of the mission of NASP. We are aligned in our belief that inclusion is about economics – that there is value to be generated by expanding and deepening the talent pool for our workforce and converting the growing diverse population base into vendors, clients and customers. Every organization must embrace evolution to maintain its relevance and impact as its environment and stakeholders’ needs evolve. The 2024 Financial Services Conference will feature expanded sessions on alternatives, guidance for enhancing impact as a trustee, insights from allocators on how inclusion can enhance performance and a college student career preparation and networking program. We thank the NASP Board, our Advisory Council, Committee Leadership and NASP staff for the engagement, perspective, and hard work that not only goes into this conference, but into all the programs and initiatives NASP executes throughout the year. Special recognition and thanks to the NASP Atlanta Chapter, our hosts and partners in planning. Over the next two days, we want to guide and provoke open discussion, creative thinking and challenging of convention as it relates to business policies and biases that prevent our industry from enhancing returns, retaining and attracting more high potential talent, and improving leadership and decision making. When you leave, take some of that Maynard Jackson Jr. boldness and conviction that there is much to be gained by all when we make inclusion a priority. Again, welcome to the 2024 Financial Services Conference. NASP…..because inclusion IS business. Sincerely, Miguel Thames Miguel Thames President & CEO, NASP

25 35YEARS FINANCIAL SERVICES CONFERENCE AWARD WINNER Dr. Gerrard P. Bushell, since 2019, is the Chairman of CAG Holdings, a dedicated investment company for airport infrastructure for The Carlyle Group. From August 2019 to April 2024, Dr. Bushell also served as Executive Chair, and Chairman & CEO of the New Terminal One (NTO) when The Carlyle Group led the consortium to lease and financial close, and President & CEO upon Ferrovial becoming the lead shareholder after project close in 2022. NTO is the nation’s largest single-asset project financing in history at $9.5 billion. It is a consortium of investors, Ferrovial, Carlyle, JLC, and Ullico, investing $2.4 billion of private capital in partnership with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to develop, construct and operate a world-class international airport terminal. Dr. Bushell successfully led the project to lease and financial close and through design and construction, despite a global pandemic closing international borders and grounding international travel. He also significantly de-risked the project after lease and financial close by successfully delivering upon major milestones. NTO achieved critical construction milestones in 2024 and issued $2 billion in green bonds in December 2023. Under Dr. Bushell’s leadership, the vision and ambition of the project was framed around the commitments to deliver a top 5 world-class international terminal, and drive community, workforce, and minority & women-owned business enterprise (MWBE) goals for Southeast Queens and New York. The project delivered more than $1.2 billion in awards to MWBE firms, $500 million in awards to companies in Queens, and was on pace to deliver 40% participation for local jobs, and beyond 30% in MWBE participation. Dr. Bushell executed the business plan, built out the management team, and helped select key institutional partners critical to delivery of the design, construction, and operations. He also successfully negotiated a project labor agreement, and an alternative dispute resolution agreement with the Building Trades. Working closely with the design-builder, he and his team negotiated a guaranteed maximum price of $3.9 billion for construction costs. Other achievements included securing an investment grade credit ratings needed to draw down bank funding, negotiating a lease extension to 2060, reaching a 10-year innovative master concessionaire retail agreement with URW, and locking-up agreements with anchor airlines to support passenger and revenue goals for future traffic. He also negotiated the partnership with Korn Ferry’s Leadership for Humanity to train 100 diverse leaders for roles in corporate America. Before NTO, Dr. Bushell served as President & CEO of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) between 2015 and 2019. Dr. Bushell came to DASNY as an accomplished investment advisor who raised billions in private and public investment capital, and counseled leading institutional investors. He was a Director of Business Development offering investment solutions for BNY Mellon through Alcentra and Insight, Director in the Client Partner Group at KKR, Managing Director at Arden Asset Management, and the Head of Institutional Sales at Clearbridge Investments, formerly Citi Asset management. Dr. Bushell started his career in government and labor serving in senior roles for New York State Comptroller H. Carl McCall, NYC Councilwoman C. Virginia Fields, and the New York City public employees union, District Council 37. A graduate of Columbia University in both the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Bushell holds a B.A., M.A., and PhD. in Urban Political Economy from the Department of Political Sciences where he holds an appointment as an Adjunct Professor teaching state politics and finance. LaToya Cantrell Mayor, City of New Orleans, Louisiana On May 7, 2018, LaToya Cantrell made history as New Orleans’ first woman mayor in its 300-year history. After that historic victory, Mayor Cantrell was inaugurated to a second term on January 10, 2022. Her passion for the City of Yes and her dedication to its residents remains stronger than ever. In her first term as Mayor, the Cantrell Administration was pivotal in negotiations to pass Fair Share legislation to ensure the City of New Orleans received additional tax revenue from the State of Louisiana as a main driver of the state’s economy, securing $200M over five years for critical infrastructure improvement. During her first term, Mayor Cantrell was also a key figure in getting voter approval in 2019 for a Short-Term Rental Visitors Tax and $500M Bond Authorization. In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to grip the nation, Mayor Cantrell shifted her priorities to become laserfocused on protecting the public health and safety of City residents and demonstrating her first-hand commitment to creating a more equitable and safer New Orleans for all residents. Advocating for federal dollars that provide funding for vital resources has been a consistent hallmark of the Cantrell administration. In response to pandemic challenges that disproportionately impacted New Orleans residents, it was under Mayor Cantrell’s leadership that the City implemented its transformative emergency rental assistance program, distributing over $71 million in rental and utility assistance to more than 22,000 households between March 2020 and March 2023. The COVID-19 pandemic presented numerous opportunities for our elected officials to lead ad Mayor Cantrell displayed that leadership as she fought tirelessly for a direct allocation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars to the City of New Orleans. She traveled to Washington D.C. and personally met with members of the Biden Administration to lobby for a better, real-time use of funds, and as a result, she single-handily changed the criteria on how federal funding would flow to American cities. As Mayor Cantrell remains focused on the issues of public safety, infrastructure, affordable housing and improving the quality of life for all New Orleans residents, she is unwavering in her devout belief that the best is yet to come for the City of New Orleans and is committed to her overall vision of creating a more safe, inclusive, equitable, and thriving City for future generations of New Orleanians. 33 35YEARS FINANCIAL SERVICES CONFERENCE FEATURED SPEAKERS

We are witnessing armed conflict across several regions with more than borders at stake. Political leadership is working to reshape or rewrite the processes for engagement by their citizens, reshape international alliances, and we see record highs in financial markets while consumers seem to be (are) losing ground in the battle to make ends meet dayto-day. How will these regional conflicts, political contests, and economic fractures impact capital flows, market opportunities and challenge investment returns? This session will ask our group of economists how they try to paint a clear forecast on a moving canvas. We believe their insights and perspectives will provide food for thought during the conference sessions and as you look forward.
