Patrick Osei Agyemang, known in the media circles as Country Man Songo, is a sports PATRICK
journalist who has created a lot of controversies with his show, ‘Fire for Fire’. OSEI

He was awarded by the Riches Theological College and Clergy Council in the United States
with a Doctorate in humanity for his contribution towards corruption in the sports industry.
He has also been awarded the ‘Best TV Sports Show Host of the Year’ three times at the
Radio and Television Personality Awards in Ghana.

His passion, zeal and flair for sports presenting on his Adom TV show, ‘Fire for Fire’, makes it
one of the most viewed sports television shows in Ghana.

He is also renowned for his reportage on the rot and corruption of the Ghana Football
Association (GFA) which led to the resignation of the GFA president after thorough
investigations.

Country Man Songo is married with four children.

Roland walker is a personality who exhibits journalism is his hallmark. His experience as a ROLAND
broadcast journalist and marketing personnel has given him great exposure across West WALKER
Africa especially in the area of tourism.

He began work with TV3 in Accra. He formerly worked with the Multimedia Group as the
host of “the AM Show”. He is skilled in election reporting. As a marketer, he works with the

Doreen Wilhelmina Akua Andoh popularly known as Doreen Andoh is a radio personality, DOREEN
brand ambassador, occasional TV personality, and events host. She attended the Tema ANDOH
Parent Association School, St Roses Secondary for the Ordinary Level, then to Holy Child
School for the Sixth Form. She later offered Public Relations at the Ghana Institute of
Journalism (GIJ) and went ahead to study at the Columbia School of Broadcasting in the
USA, offering a course in Radio and Television Broadcasting.

Young Doreen decided to get a holiday job after her A’ Level and got an opportunity at Joy FM
as a news and announcements reader. Her experience in broadcast journalism spans for a
period of 20 years which has earn her the title as Queen of the Airwaves. She was the first
woman to receive the Best Presenter of the Year award in 2001and also won the Outstanding
Female Presenter award at the 2013 Ghana Women’s Awards.

ACE KOJO Ace Anan Ankomah is one of the best-known faces in the legal profession in Ghana, with
ANAN over two decades experience in law practice. Ace attended Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast
ANKOMAH before enrolling at the University of Ghana, Legon where he graduated with a Bachelor of
Laws (LL.B) in 1990. He continued to the Ghana Law School for his professional studies and
was called to the bar in 1992. He also later proceeded to the Queen's University, Kingston,
Ontario, Canada to study for his Masters of Laws (LL.M).

He was a Senior Lecturer in Civil Litigation at the Ghana School of Law between 2005 and

law firm, with his partners. He has served on the International Court of Arbitration of the

He has received a number of awards for his exploits including the Legon Hall Exhibition Award,

Performance, 1991 and the Queen's Dean of Graduate Studies and Queen's Graduate Awards,
1993-1994.

DR. ABDUL Dr. Abdul Baasit Aziz Bamba is one of the leading legal brains in Ghana with wide-ranging
BAASIT expertise and experience in commercial law, company law, arbitration, insolvency, criminal

Yonny Kulendi’s is the managing practitioner of his law firm Kulendi@Law, a commercial, YONNY
litigation, and constitutional law practice. Prior to founding his firm, Yonny Kulendi worked KULENDI
as an associate barrister and solicitor at Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co. A reputable law firm in

206 Tsatsu Tsikata was born in Keta but was brought up in Accra, Adabraka to be precise. Known
for his penchant and flair for winning high class social cases Tsatsu who was born on October
TSATSU 10, 1950 is also the former Boss of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.

210 Born on December 21, 1994 in Accra, Daniel Amartey plays professional football with
Leicester City as a defender and midfielder. He also plays for the national team, the Black
DANIEL Stars.
AMARTEY
Amartey began his football career playing for Inter Allies. His rise in the national team has
been phenomenal. He was called to take part in the national Under 20 in 2012; three years
later, he was featuring regularly in the Black Stars, the senior national team.

Amartey is credited four times for playing full duration for the Black Stars two years ago in
the African Cup of Nations. His efforts are acclaimed as catapulting the Black Stars to play
in the third-place match of the tournament.

ELIZABETH 26-year old Elizabeth Addo plies her trade in China. She is a forward star with the Jiangsu
ADDO Suning Football Club.

The Jiangsu ‘darling’ who started professional football sixteen years ago with the Accra
based Tesano Ladies is also a member of Ghana’s national women’s team, the Black Queens.
Besides the Chinese club, she has played for several foreign clubs such as Rivers Angels
FC of Nigeria; ZFK Spartat Subotica in Serbia; the Hungarian giants Ferencvarosi TC and
Kvarnsvedens IK of Sweden.

She captained the national Under-14 team that won the 2007 FIFA U-14 Championship in
Switzerland. Again, she was captain of the Ghanaian team at the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women’s
World Cup held in New Zealand and Deputy Captain for Ghana’s U-17 female team, the Black
Maidens at the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Gemma Acheampong is a Ghanaian-American athlete specializing in sprinting events who
holds the Ghana national record in the rarely-contested indoor 300 metres. Born on February
14, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, she represented Ghana in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the
2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The former star of Boston University has achieved several honours for Ghana the African
Games and the Commonwealth Games.

The well-acclaimed sprinter became an athlete by default. “I originally started running to

have fun with friends and boost my resume for college admissions. It became obvious that

Kwasi Appiah, a left back, played club football with Asante Kotoko from 1983 to 1993 and
featured prominently for the Black Stars between 1987 and 1992. He was a former captain of
the national team and appeared in two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

Kwesi Appiah who served as Ghana’s assistant coach between 2007 and 2012, received
technical training from Manchester City and Liverpool – both English clubs. He qualified
the Black Stars for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, making him the first black African Coach to
take the country to the World Cup.

The former Asante Kotoko defender was in charge of the Ghana Under-23 team that won
the historic 2011 All Africa Games gold medal.

Born 26 years ago in Kumasi and based in the USA, Janet Amponsah is fondly recognized as JANET
one of the country’s reliable athletes. AMPONSAH

The 100 metres sprinter of repute attended Middle Tennessee State University in the USA. In
2015 she won the highly coveted Female Athlete of the Year award. Due to visa problems she
missed the 2015 World Championships in China.

Amponsah competed in the 200 metres and the 4 x 100 metres relay events at the 2016
Olympics. In 2018, like an arrow she flew to the silver spot of the medal zone of the 100 metres
during the African Senior Athletics Championship.

She has competed for the red-yellow-green with black star in the middle flag of Ghana in
African Championships, World Junior Championships, Commonwealth Games, All-Africa
Games and World Championships.

Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah who was born on August 14, 1981 in Kumasi, is a Ghanaian- KOFI
American professional wrestler signed to WWE, under the ring name Kofi Kingston, where SARKODIE-
he performs on the SmackDown brand. He is the current WWE Champion in his first reign. MENSAH

He is the first African-born world champion in WWE history as well as its 30th Triple Crown
Champion and 20th Overall Grand Slam Champion.

He made his first WWE appearance in 2008 and in late 2009 he started being billed from his
home country of Ghana.

His parents are Kwasi Sarkodie-Mensah and Elizabeth Sarkodie-Mensah. He is married to
Kori Campfield and the couple have two children.

Thomas Teye Partey, a defensive midfielder who plays professional football with the Spanish
side, Atletico Madrid, was born on June 13, 1993, in Odumase Krobo, Eastern Region.

He started his football career with the local Odometah FC’s youth ranks and was transferred
to Atletico Madrid in 2011 where he was mainly with the reserve side making 28 appearances
and scoring 3 goals for the reserves. He was called up to the main squad for the match
against Real Sociedad on March 10, 2013.

Partey’s international career manifested when he was called up in May 2016 to join the Black
Stars and made his debut on June 5, 2017 to replace Frank Acheampong for the last eleven

The Ghanaian international football star was honoured by Atletico Madrid with a plaque at the

The on-loan professional star features prominently as a forward player in the Crystal Palace
team and since joining the Black Stars, none can begrudge him his success and rise to
prominence. He was part of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations team that won the silver medal in
Equatorial Guinea and he was also included in the Black Stars squad for the 2014 World Cup.

In the 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt, Jordan Ayew was marked up as one
of the players who made things move within the Black Stars. He is highly remembered for his
hat-trick which enabled the Black Stars to pummel South Korea 4-0 in 2014.

Szandra, best known for her exploits in Judo, is a Ghanaian woman of many parts. She is an SZANDRA
Olympic Athlete, Judo Coach, Live Commentator, Media Commissioner, and a Sport Addict. SZOGEDI
She is the first female judoka to represent Ghana at an Olympic competition at the 2016
Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she competed in the Women's -63 kg.

Born in 1988 and raised in Budapest, Hungary, Szandra, with a background in gymnastics
started judo at age 11 after she was introduced to the sport by a family friend. She currently
competes in the - 63 kg event.

Aside competing in the sports, she is also imparting her knowledge in judo on others. She
is currently the General Secretary and Head Coach of the Jamaican Judo Association. She
has worked as the Media Commissioner for the European Judo Union and also as co-editor
for the World Judo Championship E-Book for the International Judo Federation. Her exploits
and successes in her chosen sports field have earned her recognition as she was voted
‘Female Judoka of the Year’ by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana in 2016.

Winful Essau Cobbinah is a professional footballer born in Accra in 1991 who currently plays WINFUL
for Albanian top-flight club KF Tirana as an attacking midfielder. He is best known for his ESAU
career exploits at Accra Hearts of Oak, but he began his career at Starke Professionals and COBBINAH
then moved to Tudu Mighty Jets before signing for the Premier League giants, Accra Hearts
of Oak in 2012.

Before joining his current club, Cobbinah had sojourned to Saudi Arabia where he signed for
Saudi club Najran, a contract that was terminated for non-payment of wages. He was later to
return to Accra Hearts of Oak for the 2017 league season during which he scored 5 times in 25
league appearances. At the national scene, Cobbinah has represented Ghana in the U17 and
Ghana U20, and also played for the senior National Team, the Black Stars.

Football, without doubt, is one of the most unlikely economic exports from Ghana and the
sport has contributed in empowering thousands of young Ghanaians to realize their dreams
in life. Winful Cobbinah is a living manifestation of this.

214 In the sporting field of swimming, few names ring a bell like Abeiku Gyekye Jackson, the 19
year old swimming sensation who has bagged over 30 gold medals in his short career. Born
ABEIKU in 2000 and having begun swimming as early as at the age of 3, Abeiku has been a national
GYEKYE discovery in the water sport. He currently specializes in the 50-meter freestyle and also
JACKSON competes in the 100m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 100m butterfly.

Abeiku holds Ghanaian national records in 13 disciplines, including freestyle, butterfly,
breaststroke, and backstroke events over distances from 50 to 400-meters. He has also
set records at the CANA Africa Zone 2 Swimming Championship in Dakar, Senegal where he
won the 100meters Butterfly Men, with a new CANA Zone 2 championship record of 57:56.
He represented Ghana in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil.

Among medals won are 9 Gold medals won at the 40th International Schwimmfest held in
Arnsberg, Germany in May 2015. He received special recognition at the 38th Sports Writers
Association Ghana Awards (SWAG) 2013 when he was voted ‘Discovery of the Year 2013’.

AKWASI Akwasi Frimpong is perhaps one of the most notable faces in the international sporting
FRIMPONG discipline of Skeleton. His fame is not so much about his medals as it is about his
determination and self-belief to venture into a terrain so alien to his African origins. Indeed,

Although he was not nationally funded and had to rely on donations and support from
well-meaning people and entities, he carried the Ghanaian flag with pride. In his uniquely-

STEPHEN Stephen Appiah is one of the most celebrated footballers Ghana has ever produced. Known

Andrew Morgan Ayew, the second son of Ghana soccer legend Abedi Ayew Pele, is the current ANDRÉ
captain of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars. Born in 1989, Ayew, like all his brothers MORGAN
took to the profession of his father and begun making waves in international football at an AYEW
early age. He currently plays for English Championship side, Swansea City.

Dede, as he is popularly known, began his career at his dad’s Nania FC in 2004 when he
debuted at age 14. He was later to travel to France, where he joined his father’s former club,
Olympique Marseille where he made his debut in 2007. Ayew also played for Lorient and
Arles-Avignon, helping the latter team earn promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time.

On the national front, Ayew has earned over 80 caps having played from the youth to the
senior team levels. In 2009, captained the U20 team which won both the 2009 African Youth
Championship and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

He was also a member of the Black Stars in the FIFA World Cup 2010 held in South Africa and

Christian Atsu is a member of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars. He currently plies CHRISTIAN

Christian Amoah is a man born with a knack to make history in his chosen career field. Born
in 1999, not only was this sportsman the first Ghanaian to compete in weightlifting in the
Olympics, but he was also the youngest athlete to take part in that sports segment at the
2016 Summer Olympics games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Christian made his debut at the
Olympics competing in the middle-heavyweight class of 85 kg.

Prior to his Olympics debut, Amoah had competed in a number of tournaments, including
the African Youth Games held in Botswana in 2014 where he won bronze; the 2014
Commonwealth Games and the International Weightlifting Federation Championship in the

BEATRICE Beatrice Gyaman is a Ghanaian track and field athlete specializing in sprinting events. Her
GYAMAN discipline and consistency has made her a regular feature for the national athletic team
since making her debut in 2010. Born in 1987, Beatrice is not only made for the sports – she is
also a teacher by profession, having studied basic education at the University of Cape Coast.

In her career featuring for the national team, she has won a number of medals in the 4 ×
100 meters relay at three African Championships, namely: the 2010 African Championships
in Nairobi, Kenya; the 2014 African Championships in Marrakech, Morocco; and the 2016
African Championship in Durban, South Africa.

Janet Abobigu is the founder of Uni-Jay Company Limited and Uni-Jay Amaleboba Foundation, a philanthropic organization that has
been at the forefront of empowering people through skills training, education and health care.

Inspired by the difficulties she went through as a child growing up in Kumasi where she had to work as a head porter to finance her
education, Mrs. Abobigu has made it a lifelong goal to lift the less-privileged out of poverty through skills training, education and
scholarships.

Having dropped out of school to learn a trade in dressmaking, Mrs. Abobigu began her journey making dresses for people from her
parents’ rented room. Buoyed by increased sales, she later rented a kiosk from which she operated. Her business is today a household
name in Kumasi and Ghana as a whole as it has become a large-scale fashion house doing brisk business in manufacturing in the
garment and sewing with a workforce of over 200 permanent employees and over 400 other contract workers. In her philanthropic
work, she has so far trained over 5000 people in skills development.

Her perseverance in life has earned her a number of awards, including being adjudged the Fashion Company of the Year for Ashanti
Region, overall Fashion Company of the Year and the Chamber Business of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce Business Awards in
2018.

Dr. Ben Orca is one of the foremost personalities in Ghana who has been able to effectively combine a distinguished career in
academia with an enviable feat in the world of philanthropy. He has a solid track record in the field of International Development
and Research and a background in Information Communications Technology, Research Methods, Corporate Management and
International affairs. Having chalked immense successes in his career life, Dr. Ben Orca has been using his voice and connections

Rev. Dr. Moses Asaah Awinyonga is a Catholic priest, a philanthropist and a social worker. He is the head Pastor and founder of the

He is also the President of the Regentropfen College of Applied Sciences (ReCAS). According to him, the school, which is affiliated

In 2017, Rev Awinyonga was nominated on the MTN Heroes of Change third edition, which he emerged winner of the Education
Category. His foundation was also named the Best Social Institution of the year at the Northern Investor Awards. His incredible
passion for service and contributions to his community cannot be overlooked. He is well known for his dedication in the fight for
eradicating poverty and promoting quality education within the Upper East region of Ghana.

Former First Lady Lordina Mahama was born on 6th March, 1963. She had her basic elementary education at the Tishigu Anglican
Elementary School, Tamale in the Northern region. She later attended the Ghana Secondary School for her secondary education and
then went to Flair Catering Services for a vocational certificate. She graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management from the
Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), before gaining a master’s degree in Governance and Leadership
from the same institution.
During her tenure as the first lady of Ghana, she served as the Vice President for the West Region of the Organization of African First
Ladies (OAFLA), an organization for first ladies with the aim of becoming a united voice for Africa’s vulnerable population living with
HIV/AIDS, especially women and children. She was later elected to serve as President of the same organization. She is the founder
of the Lordina Foundation, a non-governmental organization which aims at addressing the needs of the underprivileged in society,
especially orphans, women and children.
The former first lady served as National President of the Alternative Source of Income Program (ASIOP), a non-governmental
organization which helps orphans and the vulnerable in society. Her passion for humanitarianism has earned her several honors,
such as being inducted into the Global Women Leaders' Hall of Fame, and other citation on the Global Inspiration, Leadership Award
in Dubai under the auspices of the Africa-Middle East-Asia Summit among others.

Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, MD is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spinal reconstruction. He was born on the 16th of December
1950 in Kumasi. He studied at the Brooklyn College, New York, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. He further attended
the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree.

In 1995, Dr. Boachie founded the Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine (FOCOS), through this foundation, he has led teams
of surgeons on regular medical missions to Ghana and Barbados. He also served as Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell
Medical College in New York.

After completing advance training in scoliosis at the University of Minnesota, he returned to the Hospital for Special Surgery in New
York and served as its Chief of Scoliosis Service department from 1994. He was an Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at both New York
Presbyterian Hospital.

He owns several patents for devices in the field of orthopedic surgery. Oheneba was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the
Hospital for Special Surgery Weill Cornel. In 2004 Dr. Boachie- Adjei was the recipient of the prestigious Humanitarian Award from the
American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Mr. Vincent Kaledzi, is the Chief Executive Officer of Star Oil Company. Mr. Kaledzi got into the oil trading business as a part time

more time to the oil business. He later co-founded the Oil Marketing Company (OMC) Star Oil which was incorporated on October
7th, 1998.

Vincent is an avid humanitarian; among other activities he adopted a ward of the Worawora Hospital in 2017. He regularly donates
funds to the Dansoman Police station to help with their community patrol activities. Through his company, Vincent established
the Xornametor Foundation, which seeks to provide relief to underprivileged communities.
