KELULUT BEE AS SOURCE OF
ECO-TOURISM IN MALAYSIA?

The power of POLLINATION
Albert Eistein stated that if the bee disappeared
off the globe, the man would have only four year
of life left. no more bees, no more pollination,
no more plants, no more animal, no more man.
this quote very strong to indicate how small
magnificient creature affect our ecological life.
the declining of bee population especially on
native bees group which pose threat to our
world food security and nutrition. unsustainable
apiary system and colony collapse disorder are
the factors that collapsing pollination process.
so, this project is to highlight the symbiosis
between human and bee within balance
ecological element concept. Kelulut is one of
the special native local bee in Malaysia which
also known as stingless bee that will be main
subject in this project.
APITOPIA is a manisfestion to the idea
of balance architecture which involves
manipulation of green spaces with public
boundary to encourage symbiotic relationship
for both human and kelulut to become ideal
sanctuary for both parties to live and strive
together for next generation to come. the
project will facilitate the need of edu-tourism
apriary spaces that merged with apiculture
research compound which to carry out potential
of kelulut by understanding kelulut phychology
and behaviour within organic landscape
infrastructure.
The objective of the project is to design
both human and kelulut world by adapting
Mutualistic Architecture theory that should be
the brigde for us to aesthetically connect back
with Mother Earth system. This way more likely
will ensure human and kelulut can benefit each
other by healthy realtionship.

The beach front is relatively clean, even at the adjacent site at New Morib
Beach, this adds to the appeal of the building. Next to the site is a Pusat

aware of the coastal issue.

There are a lot of public amenities provided by the authorities within walking
distance surrounding the site, therefore, the building can share these
amenities.

The surrounding area of the site is very famous amongst tourists and visitors
which the building can attract a wider range of visitors.
