The inspiration came from the understanding of on reusing and reducing food waste that in relation

A strategy that can be done is to change the

here is the government has prepared a budget
to solve this issue, also the collection system

recycle bins types that could help in awareness

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT E-WASTES ?

Proposed an Innovative E-Wastes Hub in Cyberjaya , Selangor

by Muhammad Haziq Abd Aziz

135

P R E L I M I N A R Y S T U D Y • Innovative E-Wastes Hub What’s inside a Cadmium Mercury
mobile phone ?
The Story of E-Wastes Lead
Technology advancements in many areas make Nickel Chromium
it possible to build devices that were not possible.
It gives an indication of the rapid technology Copper/Lithium
evolution for integrated circuits. This evolution Silver Mangane
enables faster processing or computing and
more memory in smaller devices at lower cost. E-Wastes Scenario
Similarly, the rapid development of color touch-
screens, small digital cameras and others makes
it possible to envisage services to a device
that were seen as utopian before. Emerging
technologies, are advancing at a rapid pace.
These developments can improve the speed,
quality, and cost of goods and services, but
they also displace large numbers of workers.
Today people are buying more and more
electronic devices and the electronic devices
are being retired fasterThe toxic materials from
electronic devices are released into bodies of
water, groundwater, soil and air, affecting both
land and sea animals.
E-waste landfills happened when electronics
are improperly disposed and also there are
no designated area or facilities provided
in managing and collecting the disposals.
E-waste is categorized as hazardous waste
due to the presence of toxic materials such as
mercury, lead and brominated flame retardants
are considered as hazardous waste and most
of consumers are not aware of this situation
which e-wastes also can cause a serious threat
human health and the environment. Thus, the
aim is to design an e-wastes education centre
that acts as a learning platfrom by creating
awareness and education programmes on
e-wastes recycling in the building.
