2017 Draft Review

The Golden Plunger

August 24, 2017

FRANK TOMKO
Commissioner

From the desk of the Commissioner...

This little dream of mine is shaking out all right, actually it's
been pretty fun. I enjoy the challenge of trying to be the Champion
while keeping the league running smoothly. One day I hope I'll get the
opportunity to present myself with the Championship trophy, but until
that day comes, I'll keep striving for it. I am always thinking of and
looking for different ways to improve the league and our fantasy
football experience. Your ideas are always welcomed.

The inaugural 2016 Sprinkles season overall was a good season.
It did not go without hiccups, but I feel we have worked past those. As
we approach our second season I hope there will be many enjoyable
moments that we'll be able to share and relive with each other over
the years to come.

I look forward to the opening kickoff of the 2017 NFL and the
fantasy football season games and seeing who takes Todd down and
raises the trophy this year. If it's not you, I challenge you to find a way
to become a Champion. Good Luck Todd in your quest to stay on top.

Remember, in Dynasty there is no off-season. Good Luck to you all!

Sincerely,
Frank Tomko !

league a great fantasy football experience…

Thank you!

Championship Sprinkles, the Loot and a Ring

We all want it. Why else would we play the game?

Some did their research others just have it and didn't need to do any work. We all
drafted and continued to build our teams through trades and the waiver wire. We all
experienced the progressive struggle of who to start and who to sit. We all had a
process for managing our team. All for the claim to fame of being called the Champion.
A victory in the Sprinkle Bowl is what we all dream of because we all know, Sprinkles are
for Winners! The money is nice, but it's really the privilege of claiming the title and
proudly displaying and showing off the trophy. Maybe a little bragging and boasting.
Like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. So, if you can't live up to the
hype and pressure of running the tables for many years, the loot will dry up and you'll
have to pass the trophy on to the next Champion, but at least in Sprinkles, you'll always
have your Championship ring.

The inaugural Sprinkle Bowl - SPRINKLE BOWL I came 3
down to Jerry's 2nd seeded Bamboo Shotgun versus Todd's 5th
seeded Bad News Bears. The lineups were set and the teams
took the field, and Bamboo Shotgun jumped out to a big lead,
but couldn't keep the pressure on the Bad News Bears. During
the next couple of games, Bamboo Shotgun laid eggs, donuts...
actually zeros. Bad News Bears stayed calm and stayed the
course. They played consistent and put up points throughout
the game. Going into the last segment of the game, Bad News
Bears had taken the lead from Bamboo Shotgun, a lead they
wouldn't give up. Bad News Bears put up 78 points in the last
segment to hold off Bamboo Shotgun for the victory. Bad News
Bears was lead to victory by starting a solid lineup, carried by
his top scorers of Brady, Dak, Bell, Zeke, Dez, and McCoy - all
of which scored over 25 points each.

After it was all said and done, it was Todd's Bad News
Bears celebrating the victory and enjoying Championship
Sprinkles, the Loot and a Ring...and more importantly the
bragging rights, at least for a year.

The 2017 finished almost as fast as it started. The draft was completed in roughly 58
hours. The draft started at 8am on 6 May 2017. The commissioner opened the draft and
put the Kingsmen on the clock. The block buster move happened a couple days before
the draft when Bucking Fuffalos acquired the 1.03 from Kingsmen in a package that
included a swap of QBs - Luck and Bortles. During the draft, a few minor trades were
made that moved some teams up or back into the draft.

The first round went almost as predicted...and yes, Secure the Bag was mocked to draft
QB Deshaun Watson and he didn’t disappoint. Secure the Bag did surprise all mockers
by drafting TE Evan Engram at 1.10. Bamboo Shotgun kept his pick tight lipped and was
the only other pick that was incorrect according to the mocks.

The interesting fact in this years draft was the amount of non rookies drafted. Eight non
rookies were drafted with Marshawn Lynch being the first veteran off the board. Of the
12 QBs, 19 RBs, 20 WRs, and 5 TEs there were 4 QBs, 3 RBs and 1 WR veterans
drafted.

Gold Club Member drafted Tanner Gentry, WR Chicago, the Sprinkles are for Winners,
Mr. Irrelevant.

The top spot is a fight between Bell and David Johnson this
season, and I'm giving a slight edge to Bell. The Steelers should
come back strong in 2017 and get some help back on offense,
which should keep Bell in good spots all season long.

KING OF THE HILL

The unofficial game within the game... King of the Hill is a last team
standing game where each team tries to outlast everyone else. Each week,
strikes are issued to the league based on points – the lower your team total
points, the more you risk getting a strike. Strikes are issued for being one of
the lowest scoring teams that week and yes, just like baseball, three strikes
and your out.

The 2016 King of the Hill was Gold Club Member, and it wasn't even
close. Gold Club Member cruised to victory without even receiving a strike.
Gold Club Member was a very consistent high scoring team. This will be a
feat that will be hard to replicate.

Good luck to the league in attempting to become the 2017 King of the
Hill…
