VENKAT BOTHSA

B 1961

His brightly coloured fulsome figuration inlayed with busy
embellishments of all kinds and forms- may be taken from natural
elements or sourced from media and photographs such as cityscapes
or the advertising world or Bollywood or technological gadgets or
even scenes from abroad, appear familiar and fun filled on a first
glance but somewhat strange and surrealist on a closer study. His
larger-than-life exuberant dramatic sculptures in fiberglass come in a

mix of mythology and cinematic reverie.

OM SWAMI

B 1974

Om Swami is an entirely self-taught contemporary Indian artist, with no
formal education in painting. Nonetheless he has become widely
recognized for his vibrant and joyful paintings of divinities—Ganesha,
Shiva, Buddha and Krishna with Radha—as well as his paintings of
couples basking in moments of togetherness and bliss. Across his various
series, his surreal scenes often feature flutes, flowers, butterflies and a
glowing moon.
As both an artist and a person, Om Swami is defined by his deep and
unwavering faith not only in the divine but in humanity. He takes his
‘Guru’s blessings’ before starting each painting by writing his name on the
back of the canvas, in the top left hand corner.

ink for other art forms. He design a 3D model from an abstract idea

Religious iconography is another recurring theme evident in my
artwork inherited from my mother's inclination towards spiritual
teachings & wisdom which drives my inspiration towards this genre.

DINKAR JADHAV

b 1973

The artist's constant source of inspiration is the natural world. He
frequently paints horses and bulls, displaying a calming energy. Of the
belief that abstraction is creativity, Dinkar’s artworks display patches of
colour in blocks, geometrical forms and crisp angles. The play of light
and shade are represented in his compositions, with the use of colour.
Reds and blues are frequently used, lending a certain boldness to his
work. Dinkar creates a crayon-like texture in his artworks with acrylic
colours, adding to their uniqueness.

TUSHAR KANTI DAS ROY

b 1968

Tradition bengal was well known for its hand rickshaw pullers. These
men would bare feet carry not only the heavy rickshaws but also the
people on them with perfect speed ,stance and diginity . There are a few
of them left in Bengal now . Here they are seen resting in the afternoon
waiting for passengers . Das captures that moment wonderfully in this

sculpture.
Tushar Kanti Das Roy is another artist whose works are completely
steeped in the essence of Bengal; whether it’s a couple sitting on a bench
under a lamp-post with adjoining spiral stair case or a musician or a set
of hand drawn richshaw men typical of Bengal, Tushar works cannot be

more telling of the romance of Bengal.
