คู่มือการเตรียมตัวสอบวัดระดับความสามารถด้านภาษาอังกฤษนี้ จัดท� ขึ้นเพ่ือใช้เป็นคู่มือ
ใหน้ กั ศึกษา คณะวิทยาการจดั การ มหาวทิ ยาลยั ราชภฏั เลย ในการเตรียมตวั สอบเพอ่ื สอบวัดระดับ
ความสามารถทางด้านภาษาอังกฤษ ตามกรอบมาตรฐาน Common European Framework of
Reference for Languages (CEFR) โดยได้รวบรวมข้อมลู เกี่ยวกบั ข้อสอบมาตรฐานสองหน่วยงาน
คอื Oxford Online Placement Test และ English Discoveries Placement Test ซงึ่ เปน็ ขอ้ สอบ
ที่มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏเลยใช้เพื่อสอบวัดระดับความสามารถทางด้านภาษา อังกฤษของนักศึกษา

2.1ข้อบ่งชวี้ ่าค� ท่ีหายไปอาจเป็นค� นาม

A : ชอ่ งวา่ งนนั้ อยหู่ ลงั ค� คณุ ศพั ท์ เชน่ an expensive restaurant ในวลนี ี้ restaurant
เปน็ ค� นาม เนอ่ื งจากตามหลงั expensive ซ่งึ เปน็ ค� คุณศพั ทท์ บ่ี รรยายลักษณะของรา้ นอาหาร

B : ชอ่ งวา่ งตามหลงั ค� บง่ ช้ี (Determiner) เชน่ a, an, the, this, that, some, any, etc.
โดยอาจปรากฏในรูปแบบ that car ...…car เปน็ ค� นามวางหลัง Determiner “that” หรอื หลงั ค�
สรรพนามแสดงความเปน็ เจา้ ของ (Possessive adjective) เชน่ my car, your car, Tom’s car, etc.

C : ช่องว่างนั้นอย่ใู นต� แหน่งประธาน (Subject) ของประโยค ซง่ึ เปน็ ผ้ทู � กริยา หรอื
เปน็ กรรม (Object) ผูไ้ ด้รับผลการกระท� ของกริยาหลัก (Main verb) ในประโยค เชน่ Keith eats
cereal for breakfast every day. Keith เปน็ ประธานของประโยค เปน็ ผู้ท� กรยิ ากิน (eats) และ
cereal เปน็ กรรมของกริยาหลกั และเป็นส่ิงทถี่ กู กนิ

2.2ข้อบง่ ชว้ี า่ ค� ทีห่ ายไปอาจเปน็ ค� กรยิ า
A : ในประโยคนนั้ ไมม่ กี รยิ าอน่ื แลว้ เชน่ My neighbors give us a puppy. ในประโยค
น้มี ีกริยาตวั เดยี วคือ give
B : ค� นนั้ ตามหลงั ประธาน (Subject), หลงั กรยิ าชว่ ย (An auxiliary verb) เชน่ is, are, can,
will, etc. หรือ หลงั ค� บอกปฏเิ สธ เช่น never, not, etc.

BOOKS
Most books can be classified into two groups: fiction and nonfiction. The first type
of book is fiction. To elaborate, fiction is a type of writing that is not based in truth.
The story is fabricated by the author. Some examples of fiction are books by Anne

radioactive waste near a heavily populated area. Last Tuesday, while walking his
dog in the woods near his home, a local resident discovered large yellow industrial
containers. He immediately reported his discovery to city officials, who identified the
containers as belonging in Delray.
Local residents and environmental groups are calling for an evaluation of the
damage before the cleanup is begun. “what we have here is more than just pollution.”
Said local ecology activist Dennis Cally. “Delray has contaminated the water supply
in our area. Endangered its wildlife, and destroyed its natural beauty.”
A Delray spokesman responded. “Delray has a very good record of safe waste
disposal and concern for the environment. We’ve looked into the matter and it seems
that the containers rolled off a truck while being transported. We have made a public
apology to the people of Newtown, and intend to play a major role in the cleanup.”
However, Dennis Cally says that Delray’s reputation is not quite as clean as their
statement would suggest. “Two years ago, Delray was caught spilling chemical waste
into local ponds and lakes. Some of the animals that live in the area near the Delray
factory are approaching extinction. Industries like Delray are making our air unbreath-
able and our water undrinkable. They claim to be concerned with conservation, but
in reality, they just use up all of our natural resources and put nothing back.”
As a result of this latest incident, city officials say that they will be working with
local companies to devise recycling plans, and regulate their use of fuels such as oil
and to reduce the level of smog in the atmosphere.
Local environment minister, Margaret Small, said, “It stands to reason that companies
that profit from the earth’s resources should take responsibility for protecting them.”
