2022-2023 A Message from the General Manager/CEO
OFFICERS Happy New Year, Everyone:
When I began writing this article, I was quarantined in Keflavik,
President Howard Tanney Iceland. Please remain safe during this winter surge of the
Vice President Allan Bloom pandemic.
Secretary Herb Selzer The staff wishes to thank you for your continued support and
Treasurer Mitchell Kahn generosity during the holiday season. We are now at the beginning
of 2022 and only a few months away from kicking off another busy
BOARD OF GOVERNORS season.
Mitchell Barry We will begin recruiting 20 seasonal staff from Florida at the end of
Allan Bloom January who will arrive early May. Our local search and recruiting
Susan Held efforts are ongoing and will be ramped up as we enter the month
Mitchell Kahn of February.
Randi Levine The Clubhouse is now closed through March 8th, reopening on
Eric Moore March 9th. During this time, staff will take vacations, attend continuing education, and prepare
Paul Pearlman for the opening in March and the upcoming busy season.
Shawn Rogol I wish to thank everyone for their hospitality and support over the past 17 months. I am saddened
Donna Schlessinger to be leaving but excited to be near some family. OW is an incredible Club with great staff and
Herb Selzer members. The Club is in an excellent position for continued growth, and I wish I could be here
Howard Tanney to be part of it. May 2022 be the best year ever for OW.
Alan Tauber Respectfully,
Chad Becker, CCM

EVENT During the mild December weather, the green
maintenance crew completed a small project to improve
playability and aesthetics. This was accomplished by
defining the green from the rough and improving the
uniformity of the rough immediately outside of the
green surface. The project was funded through a rebate
from one of the plant protectant suppliers that the Club
purchases turf maintenance materials from.

FROST DELAYS!
HOW CAN A FOOTPRINT BE A KILLER?
When it’s a footprint made on a putting surface that’s
covered with frost. It’s hard to believe that simply
walking across a golf green covered with frost can
cause so much damage, but the proof will be there in
a few days as the turf dies and leaves a trail of brown
footprints. That’s why most courses will delay starting
times until the frost has melted. And it’s also why golfers
who appreciate a quality putting surface will be patient
during frost delays.

CURRENT COVID POLICY
Due to the ongoing rise in positivity rates even amongst the vaccinated, we have implemented a mandatory mask policy for
everyone indoors at the Club. The mandate is currently in effect for all Members and their guests.
• Masks must be worn by everyone, three (3) years old and older, indoors except when seated at a table to eat or drink.
• Masks must be worn when entering and working out in the Fitness Center.
• Masks must be worn when entering to play tennis and at all times except when on the indoor Tennis Court playing.
We continue to encourage everyone eligible for vaccination and for a booster to please get one. We ask that all Members remain
mindful of their fellow Members and not come to the Club if you or anyone in your family or group is not feeling well, even with a
negative Covid test.
Please contact Chad Becker, General Manager/CEO, with any questions or concerns at [email protected].
We will be updating our policies as things are rapidly changing and will provide the membership with any changes prior to the
reopening of the Club in March.
