While our students may talk about how much they like TECH Center
classes, don’t think it’s easy. When you’re learning medical terminology
and anatomy, studying plant biology and animal behavior, or operating

The LISD TECH Center provides students with extra-curricular opportunities through clubs, student organizations and

BPA HOSA

Graphic Imaging Technology
Graphic designers create visual concepts by hand and by using computer graphics software to communicate ideas
and images that inspire, inform or captivate target audiences. They develop the overall layout and production design for
advertisements, brochures, magazines, corporate reports and more. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that many of
these workers are employed in specialized design services, publishing, advertising, public relations and related service
industries.

Video and audio professionals can be found in nearly every industry. Those employed in this field combine technical ability
and artistic creativity to film TV shows, movies, commercials, and documentaries. With improvements in video and internet
technology making video more accessible and affordable for businesses of all sizes, computer video skills will become
more useful.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION INSTRUCTOR

Most of the objects around us including buildings, bridges, vehicles, computers, medical devices are welded, brazed or

Education Careers
Education is one of the building blocks of a democratic society and thus, the need for teachers and other professionals
who work in an educational setting remains consistently strong. The Education Careers program helps students explore
the many different areas of expertise needed in today’s school districts. While teaching and learning is a primary focus, the
class looks at the various professionals needed in a school system - counselors, social workers, speech/physical therapists,
administrators, etc.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION INSTRUCTOR
Students in Education Careers learn about child development and Heidi Cagle is a veteran TECH Center
how children learn from birth through adulthood. Teaching strategies, teacher with over 20 years of teaching
lesson plans, creating learning-friendly classroom environments, lesson experience. The former TECH Center
presentations, group activities, etc., are included in the curriculum. At the student received her bachelor’s

Students in this program are usually energetic, hardworking, outgoing and
enjoy working with others. Successful students are also organized and good

Agri-Tech
Agriculture is the nation’s largest employer with more than 23 million jobs involved in some facet of American agriculture.
As a student in the Agriscience and Natural Resources programs at the LISD Center for a Sustainable Future (CSF), you
will learn in a state-of-the-art center. The new facility, which features environmental learning labs, has been recognized as a
“Green Ribbon School” by the US Department of Education.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION INSTRUCTORS
The Agri-Tech program offers hands-on curriculum with a science-based Casey Muck, a graduate of Michigan

Biochemical Technology
Careers requiring biochemical technology skills cover a wide range of industries from medical to agriculture, public safety
to environmental and manufacturing to marketing. Jobs in this field are expected to grow at a faster-than-average pace with
earnings well above average. Students completing this program will have an advantage over competing applicants for jobs
and college entry.
