Frozen Elsa’s Gift

Snow fell quietly on the kingdom of Arendelle. The town was
blanketed in white. Snowflakes tickled children’s noses and melted on
their tongues. The people of Arendelle waded through deep, powdery
snowdrifts as they hurried through the streets. Everyone welcomed
the snow, for this time it was not Queen Elsa’s doing. It was winter!
Inside the castle, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna watched their
subjects bustle to and fro. Everyone was preparing for the winter ball
Elsa was throwing that evening. Elsa smiled. For the first time since
she was a child, the kingdom’s gate were open. Elsa’s ice magic was
finally under control. And most important, she angry her sister were
friends again. Anna grabbed Elsa’s arm and dragged her away the
window. “Come on! She said. “We have so much to do to get ready
for the ball!” Elsa chuckled and let herself be pulled. Anna was right.
There was a lot to do! Anna and Elsa had been hard work for days.
The castle glittered with Elsa’s frosty magic. But there were still some
finishing touches to add. While Elsa finished icing the banquet room,
Anna raced to the kitchens. “There,” she said, coming back into the
room with a tray full of krumkake. “The dessert table is ready! What
do you think, Elsa?” But Elsa wasn’t paying attention. She was
thinking about the ball. “Earth to Elsa,” Anna called. Elsa looked at
her sister and smiled. Anna’s act of love had saved Arendelle-and

Elsa. Elsa wished she could do something special for Anna-something
to show everyone how much she loved her sister.
Looking around the banquet room, Elsa had an idea. “I, um…I have
to go,” she told Anna and raced out the door.
“Kristoff! Elsa called as she spotted her sister’s friend crossing the
castle courtyard. “I need your help.” Elsa explained her plan to create
the perfect gift for Anna. “I thought you and I could make an ice
sculpture for her,” she said. But Elsa had more planned. While
Kristoff went to get a block of ice, Elsa locked herself in the kitchen.
“Elsa?” Anna called. She knocked on the door. “Are you in there?”
“Don’t come in!” Elsa said. “It’s a surprise.” Inside the kitchen. Elsa
and Olaf were making cookies.
“You know,” Elsa said to the snowman, “I’m not sure you should go
anywhere near an oven.”
“Pshaw!” Olaf said, waving his twiggy arms. “What could possibly
go wrong?” So Olaf and Elsa got to work making Anna’s favorite-
extra-gingery gingerbread men. The cookies turned out perfectly, and
Elsa only had to refreeze Olaf seven times. “Elsa?” Anna said,
knocking on the door again. “It smells great in there! Can I help?”
“Nope!” Elsa called back. “I’ll see you later. Just…go to your room.”
When Elsa was sure Anna was done, the tiptoed into her bedroom.
Elsa’s closet was overflowing with trinkets she had collected for her
sister over the years. Gathering them in her arms, she brought the
presents to the banquet room. Elsa was arranging the gifts for her
sister when Kristoff arrived with a giant block of ice. Elsa wasted no
time. Soon she had created a beautiful sculpture of Anna.
Elsa paused for a moment to admire her handwork. Everything looked
beautiful, but it still wasn’t perfect.
“Where’s Anna?” Kristoff asked. “I haven’t seen for a while.” “Oh,”
Elsa said. “I told her to stay in her room so the surprised wouldn’t be
ruined.”
“Hmmm,” Kristoff said with a frown. “You know, Elsa, I think what
Anna would really like is-? “Some pinch!” Elsa finished his sentence

for him. “You’re right!” she said, and raced out of the room. “I was
going to say to spent time with her big sister,” Kristoff said to the
empty room. Elsa was stirring a big bowl of punch when Anna
walked into the kitchen. “What are you doing outside your room?”
Elsa asked. “It’s boring in there,” Anna said. “and lonely. I’d rather
hang out with you.” “But you’ll ruin your surprise!” Elsa said. Anna
rolled her eyes. “I have a surprise for you, too,” she said. Walking out
of the kitchen. “Follow me.” Elsa followed Anna outside to a snowy
courtyard-but Anna had disappeared! “Anna? Where are you?” Elsa
called. “I don’t have time for this. There are still a million things I
need to—“ Splat! A snowball hit Elsa right in the face. “Surprise!”
Anna yelled. “W-what? Elsa sputtered, brushing the snow off her
face. “Did you just--? Anna giggled. “It’s a snowball intervention,
Elsa,” she said dramatically. “Since you don’t seem to have any time
for me, I’m declaring war!” Elsa started to grin. “Anna,” she said. “I
think you’re forgetting which one of us has magical ice powers.” She
made a huge snowball and hurled it at Anna. The snowball fight went
on and on, until at last Elsa called a truce. It was time for the sisters to
get ready for the ball! Elsa glanced slyly at Anna. Then, hurling one
final snowball at her unsuspecting sister, she raced inside. “Gotcha!”
she called over her shoulder. That night, the sisters greeted their
guests. As Anna looked around the banquet room, she noticed Elsa’s
cookies and punch and her beautiful sculpture. “You did this for me?”
she said.
“It’s all lovely,” Anna said. “And it was very sweet of you. But for
me, the best presents ever is just being with you.” “For me, too,” Elsa
said. And liking arms, the sisters went off to enjoy their
party…together.

While, When, as ถือวา่ เป็น Key word สาํ คญั ที่บ่งบอกวา่ ประโยคน้ีเป็นประโยค

เทคนิคการจาํ
ประโยคทอ่ี ยู่หลงั while และ as ใช้ past continuous (Subject +
was/were +V.ing) เพราะเป็นเหตุการณ์ท่ียงั จะเกิดต่อเนื่องไปอีกระยะหน่ึง

Rapunzel

Rapunzel was a long-lost princess who had recently
returned to her kingdom. And in discovering who she was, she’d met
and fallen in love with a former thief named Flynn Rider. After many
adventures, Rapunzel and Flynn’s wedding day arrived. It was the
biggest celebration in the history of the kingdom. Rapunzel always
remembered it as a magical day.
“Everything was perfect just like I always dreamed it would be!”
Flynn did have one complaint later, though his portrait in the royal
tapestry,
“They still can’t get my nose right.”

Rapunzel reminded him of the wedding. “It was a
magical day. And everything went just as we
planned.”
But Flynn know that wasn’t quite right. “Well, almost. . .”
The day began when Flynn saw Rapunzel walk down the aisle. The
whole church turned to admire the princess in her beautiful white
dress and long, long veil.
Rapunzel was by far the loveliest bride the priest had seen. “Wow!”
She looked so beautiful that Flynn’s heart skipped a beat. He was
dazzled. “Wow!”
The royal chapel looked beautiful. Every inch was filed with flowers.
Rapunzel’s parents, the king and queen, wanted everything to be
perfect for their precious daughter’s wedding.

When at last Rapunzel reached the altar, the ceremony began. “Dearly
beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the joining. . .”

Pascal the chameleon and Maximus the royal guard horse stood at
attention by their sides. As ring bearers, they shared a most important
job. They smiled as they watched their friends beginning a new
chapter in their lives. And then, all of a sudden, a flower drifted down.
. . and landed on Max’s nose.
The flower tickled Max. He tried to ignore it, but he just couldn’t.
A sneeze was coming! He did his best to stop it, but it was no use.
“Ah-coo!”
As max sneezed, the royal wedding rings sailed across the room and
out the door!
Max imagined the priest asking for them later in the ceremony. “May
I have the rings?” Rapunzel and Flynn would be shocked. The whole
castle would erupt in a panic. “The kingdom is lost!” And the queen
would be beside herself. First, she’d cry out. “Those were my
grandmother’s wedding rings!” And then, who knows? The wedding
might have to be called off.
Only max and Pascal had seen the rings fly away.
The priest continued the ceremony. “And the mutual respect which
they bring to their life together.”
Max and Pascal looked between the happy couple and the church door
as the priest spoke. “The union of two people. . .”
Then they raced after the rings.
The rings rolled onto a patio and over a wall down to the courtyard far
below. Max and Pascel knew they had no choice. They jumped over
the wall after the rings.
In the courtyard, hundreds of cooks and serves were putting the
finishing touched on the food for the wedding banquet.
The rings went two ways, so Max and Pascal split up. One ring
bounced from table to table, landing in a bowl of tomato soup. Pascal
dove in after it and got it. But when he popped out of the bowl, he
nearly gave a server a heart attack.”Ahh!”
He dropped the ring and away it bounced. It again went from table to
table, finally landing on one. Pascal stuck out his tongue to get it-and

it stuck to an ice sculpture on the table. As the shocked chameleon
yanked his tongue back, the ring went flying.
In the confusion, one of servers bumped into the table and knocked
the ice sculpture into the air.
Meanwhile, Max was chasing after the other ring, which was
bouncing along the street. He ran so fast that he ran into the hair-and-
makeup carts and ended up wearing a pink dress, a hat, and make-up.
At last, the ring rolled to a stop under a cart.
Max almost had it! But just then, the ice sculpture landed on the other
end of a cart. Max was catapulted into the air.
In the church, the priest continued the ceremony. “. . . held in
reverence, dignity, honor, respect.” Just as he said that, Max flew by
the church window.
Luckily, everyone inside was paying attention to the ceremony so non
one noticed.
Max landed in the royal wedding carriage, which was waiting to take
Rapunzel and Flynn away. With all the commotion, the ring had
started rolling again. Max chased after it in the carriage!
The ring Pascal was chasing bounced down a sidewalk and into a
paper lantern a little girl was holding. Shocked, she let it go.
It began to float toward a net that royal helpers were holding. The net
covered a bunch of floating lanterns that were to be released as soon
as Rapunzel and Flynn were married.
Max was able to hold on his ring. Along the streets, merchants selling
royal wedding souvenirs were lined up. They help out pans with a
picture of Rapunzel and Flynn. “Frying pans! Commemorative Frying
pans here!”
The royal carriage war rolling so quickly that, because Max’s head
was sticking out, it banged into one pan after the next. And with a
loud crash, he hit the frying-pan-warehouse sign.
The crash sounded like a gong. Royal dover-keepers heard it. They
hadn’t been expecting their cue so soon, but they went to their stations
at once. “That’s the signal, release the doves!”
As soon as the sky filled with doves, another group of royal workers
looked up. “There’s the doves. Release the lanterns!” The doves were
their signal to start the next phase of the celebration.

Meanwhile, Pascal’s lantern had gotten caught in the net, and he was
able to climb on it and get his ring. But his lantern was floating, and b
then, he was too high up to jump to the ground.
Having been hit in the head so many times, Max fell dazed. His
carriage banged into a wall at the edge of a large hill. Max went flying
into the air again and landed on the street. A flower cart broke his fall.
Up above, one of the doves twirled Pascal’s lantern around and

around. The chameleon got dizzy and let go of the ring.
It pinged from one place to another until it landed on a

hook holding a bunch of hanging barrels. They
crashed down onto a mountain of wine barrels that
had been stacked of the celebration.
The wine barrels cracked open, and a huge flood of
wine gushed down the street. Max ran away and rescued Pascal,
whose lantern had landed nearby. Everyone else ran, too.
Max and Pascal came to a dead-end, but Max grabbed on to a line of
flags from overhead and swung up and away from the flood.
In the air, Pascal spotted a dove with the ring and stuck out his
tongue. He caught the ring!
Max and Pascal finally both had their rings, but they still had not
finished crashing the things. They didn’t land on a flower cart or in a
carriage, though. They fell through the roof of the tar works. Now
they were cover in muck!
The rings were safe, and that was all that mattered. Max and Pascal
raced back to the chapel, covered with tar and food, and wearing
strange clothes. Luckily, the priest was just getting to the ring part.
“. . . in everlasting peace. May I have the rings?”
Breathless, Max and Pascal held the rings up for the priest to give to
Rapunzel and Flynn.
Stunned and distracted, the priest finished the ceremony.
“I. . .I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss.”
And so Rapunzel and Flynn did, and the church instantly filled with
cheers.
Then it was time for the reception-and time for Max and Pascal to
relax at last. That is, until Max decided to rest his hoof on the cart that
held the royal wedding cake. Before he knew it, the cart began to roll

away. Flynn hadn’t noticed. He spoke to the crowd. “So, who wants a
piece of cake?”
Little did he know that Max and Pascal were about to have another
adventure. . .

Past Perfect Tense บอกเล่าเหตุการณ์ท่ีสิ้นสุดลงแลว้ ในอดีต โดยมีสองเหตุการณ์มาพว่ งกนั
และสองเหตุการณ์กใ็ ช้ Tense ต่างกนั
โครงสร้าง Past Perfect Tense (ประโยคบอกเล่า)

S + had + V3 *ประธานทุกตวั ใชโ้ ครงสร้างเดียวกนั

หลกั การใช้ Past Perfect Tense

ใชบ้ อกเหตุการณ์ในอดีตท่ีสิ้นสุดไปแลว้ ก่อนจะมีอีกเหตุการณ์เขา้ มาแทรกทีหลงั หมายความวา่ มนั
มีสองเหตุการณ์ (คลา้ ย past continuous) มกั จะมีการใช้ before, after มาร่วมกบั ประโยค
และตอ้ งใชต้ ามน้ี คือ

เหตุการณ์ท่ีเกิดก่อน (ใช้ Past Perfect Tense)
เหตุการณ์ท่ีเกิดทีหลงั (ใช้ Past Simple Tense)
Ex. - When we reached the cinema, all people had gone home.เมื่อเราไป
ถึงโรงหนงั คนไดก้ ลบั บา้ นหมดแลว้
- Dad had come home before we cleaned the kitchen.พอ่ ไดม้ าถึงบา้ น ก่อน
พวกเราทาํ ความสะอาดหอ้ งครัว
- I hadn’t eaten a pizza before went to bed. ฉนั ไม่ไดก้ ินพิซซ่า ก่อนที่ฉนั เขา้ นอน

Jack and the Beanstalk

There was a widow who lived with her son named “Jack.” They
made a living from selling cow’s milk. One day the old cow couldn’t
give milk anymore, so Jack and mother decided to sell it. On the way
to the market, Jack met an old man who tried to buy his cow. “I want
to exchange these magic beans for your cow. If you bring them back,
you will see how amazing they are!” the old man offered. Jack
decided to give his cow for those beans and ran quickly to his house.
When Jack arrived home, he excitedly told his mother about the
magic beans. She got very angry and threw the beans out of the
window. “These beans are useless, silly you Jack.” So he got
punished with no dinner and went to sleep with hungriness that night.
When Jack woke up in the next morning, something amazing
happened, the bean that mother threw out of the window had grown
up to the sky. “Oh! How tall it is?” Jack wondered, so he climbed up
the giant beanstalk. He climbed higher and higher, that everything
seem so small when he looked down to the ground. HE kept on
climbing till reached the vast white clouds. At the top of the
beanstalk, he found an enormous castle. “It’s unbelievable there’s
such an enormous castle like this on here. Maybe there might have
some food for me,” Jack thought. He walked directly to the castle’s
door and knocked. Suddenly the door was opened, a giant woman

appeared. Jack was very frightened but he plucked himself up to ask
for her food. “Please give me some food, I haven’t eat anything since
yesterday,” he begged. “I will give you food but you have to rush out
as soon as you finish eating. My husband love eating children like
you,” said the kindly woman. The giant woman took Jack to the
kitchen and brought him plenty of food. A little later, they heard big
footsteps coming closer to the kitchen. “My husband is coming. Hurry
up! Let hide yourself first.” said the kindly woman. Then she hid Jack
into the cupboard. “I smell a man, I will eat it,” a giant sniffed. “It
would be the smell of the man that you ate yesterday. Just forget it
and come here to have breakfast.” The giant wife brought breakfast to
her husband. After the giant finish breakfast, He ordered his wife to
bring him a golden harp and a magic goose laid the eggs and they
were golden. “Oh! Such an amazing goose!” Jack mumbled excitedly.
“Play a song.” then the golden harp played a song till the giant fell
asleep. So Jack had a chance to take those magical things with him.
At the time Jack took the golden harp, it stopped playing the song,
that make the giant woke up and chased Jack then. “Stupid thief, let
me eat you,” the giant yelled off. Jack climbed down the beanstalk
while the giant still chased him closely. “Mom, give me the axe
please,” Jack shouted. As soon as Jack got down to the ground, he
grabbed the axe and chopped the beanstalk down until the beanstalk
and also the giant fell down and crashed to the ground, he died
instantly. From that day, Jack and his mother lived by selling the
golden eggs and showing the golden harp play. Soon they both
become millionaires and lived happily ever after.

วิเศษของมนั ” ชายแก่เสนอ แจค็ รีบแลกแม่ววั ของเขากบั ถวั่ วิเสษของชายแก่ แลว้ วง่ิ กลบั บา้ นในทนั ที เม่ือ
แจค็ กลบั ถึงบา้ น เขากเ็ ล่าเร่ืองท้งั หมดใหแ้ ม่ฟังดว้ ยความต่ืนเตน้ แม่ของเขาโมโฆมาก และปาถว่ั ท้งั หท
ดออกไปนอนหนา้ ต่าง “ถว่ั พวกน้ีจะเอาไปทาํ อะไรไดเ้ จา้ เดก็ โง่” แจค็ จึงโดนลงโทษไม่ใหก้ ินขา้ ว และเขา้
นอนดว้ ยความหิวโหยในคืนน้นั เชา้ วนั รุ่งข้ึน แจค็ กต็ อ้ งต่ืนมาพบกบั เรื่องหนา้ อศั จรรยเ์ ป็นอยา่ งยงิ่ เมื่อถว่ั ที่
ถูกโยนออกไปนอกหนา้ ต่าง ฃน้นั ไดเ้ จริญเติบโตกลายเป็นตน้ ถว่ั สูงเสียดฟ้ า “โอโ้ ห ตน้ ถว่ั นี่ทนั จะสูงข้ึน
ไปถึงไหนกนั นะ” แจค็ สงสยั ดงั น้นั เขาจึงปี นตามตน้ ถว่ั ยกั ษข์ ้ึนไป เขาปี นสูงข้ึน สูงข้ึน จนเม่ือเขามองลง
ไปดา้ นล่าง สิ่งต่างๆกด็ ูเหมือนจะมีขนาดเลก็ ลงมาก แจค็ ปี นข้ึนไปเร่ือยๆจนถึงกล่มุ กอ้ นเมฆสีขาวขนาด
ใหญ่ เมื่อแจค็ ปี นข้ึนมาถึงยอดของตน้ ถว่ั เขากพ็ บปราสาทขนาดมหึมา “ไม่น่าเช่ือเลยวา่ จะมีปราสาทหลงั
ใหญ่เช่นน้ีอยขู่ า้ งบน บางทีที่นี่อาจจะพอมีอาหารใหเ้ รากินบา้ ง” แจค็ คิด
เขาตรงเขา้ ไปเคาะประตปู ราสาททนั ที ทนั ใดน้นั ประตูกเ็ ปดออก พร้อมร่างของหญิงตวั สูงใหญ่ แจค็ ตกใจ
มากแต่เขากร็ วบรวมความกลา้ เพ่อื ขออาหารจากหญิงผนู้ ้นั “ขออาหารใหข้ า้ กินหน่อยเถอะขา้ ยงั ไมไ่ ดก้ ิน
อะไรเลยต้งั แตเ่ มื่อวาน”
แจค็ ขอร้อง “ได้ ขา้ จะใหอ้ าหารแก่เจา้ แต่กินเสร็จแลว้ เจา้ ตอ้ งรีบหนีไปนะ เพราะสามีของขา้ ชอบกินเดก็ ๆ
