Avoid Lien Problems
Anyone who has hired a contractor to build a new home or is buying a contractor. You will know the lien amount because whoever files the
newly built home is subject to a lien. Before the work begins, ask your lien must mail a copy of the lien to the consumer within 14 days of the

consumers about lien releases.
To learn more, visit www.lni.wa.gov.
If any supplier of materials, worker or subcontractor is not paid, a
lien may be filed against your property to force you to pay. You could
pay twice for the same work. Or worse, an unpaid lien could lead to
foreclosure on your home. (For remodeling projects, liens can only be
filed for the amount left unpaid to the general contractor.)
If you receive a “notice of intent” to file a lien on your property, ask your
general contractor to provide you with lien release documents from
the supplier or subcontractor who has sent this notice before making
final payment. The contractor is required to provide you with more
information about lien release documents if you request it. If you have
requested lien release documents, avoid making final payment until
you have received a lien release from suppliers and subcontractors.
A lien against a consumer has to be filed within 90-days of work
stoppage or delivery of materials. If a lien is filed against you, the
best way to protect yourself is to make a check payable to both the
contractor and the lien claimant to get the lien removed from the

grade of windows. Quite often the builder-grade windows have a
slimmer frame with less vinyl. This can be a great benefit at times
when you’re wanting to maximize the depth of your window sills or
your view. The slimmer frames can also have functional issues and
size limitations due to their minimalistic frames. Homeowner grade
windows have heavier frames allowing for larger sizes and, they
typically have more flexibility with mulled combinations of windows.
2. What color do you want? Vinyl windows and replacement windows
are available in a white and tan vinyl. Some manufacturers also offer a
painted exterior with a white vinyl interior.

Bedroom is a critical step when selling a home.
Here are a few tips that will be sure to get home buyers dreaming
about moving in!
~ Use soft, neutral paint and color schemes. Earth tones are
always a safe color that appeals to most. Add a bit of “controlled color”
with accessories like pillows and throws.
~ Make the room appear larger by limiting the amount of furni-
ture; the bed, nightstands, dresser and/or chair, depending on the size
of the room. Too much furniture will make the room appear small and
cramped.
~ Remove any TV’s, computers or exercise equipment….re-
member, luxurious retreat!
~ Create a focal point. The bed is generally the focal point in a
Master Bedroom so invest in some new luxurious bedding that gives
a spa retreat feel.
