CREATING AN ETCHING SCENE

Etching scenes provide a unique opportunity to personalize a memorial. The process is
outlined below.
Begin with black granite. It provides the best contrast and finished product.

Collect the information. Provide photographs, momentos and other personal information that
will allow the designers to create a personalized etching.

Here is an example of a drawing request that was sent to create an initial scene layout.
Please note that clear pictures were provided and that the drawing only roughly outlines the
desired scene.

Initial proof. After
combining the ideas that
were gathered we
provide an initial proof.
This will be a scale
drawing of the proposed
etching incorporating the
provided photos and
information in
combination with artist
drawn elements to give
the customer a feel for
final layout and
positioning. If revisions
are necessary we will
gather that information
and create an alternate
image.

looks best on polished black granite. You
INSERT001 can add a polished black granite insert
panel to any color monument or marker.
INSERT002 The black granite insert panel is attached
flush to the face of the monument or
INSERT003 marker with monument grade adhesive.
The black granite insert panel is then
edge grouted with silicone sealer for a
perfectly finished look that will last for
generations. The portrait or design is then
hand etched on the black granite insert

Bevel edge flush markers can be used as an
alternative to bronze markers and offer all the
warmth, durability and design flexibility that
granite provides. These markers have a unique
bevel edge around the perimeter that gives a more
formal feeling to the flush marker. When paired
with a bronze vase, bevel edge flush markers
blend well with existing bronze memorials.
