PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE Sreesha Sajesh
10G
Excellence is my passion
It’s also my compassion

If I deceive it
I won’t achieve it
Excellence is the Dream
I would like to Redeem
It’s everything we want
But not to chant
Passion for excellence
Also, a benevolence.

PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE

I believe excellence is the key leading to success. More than ever, we are nonstop improving ourselves in order
not to be left behind. However, each of us has different goals and formulas to achieve our goals. To me, I have
a strong belief in the knowledge I have gained. It Increases considerably the chance of my success. On top of
that Is the passion I put into everything I do. Knowledge determines who we are in society. We all have at least
once asked ourselves why we have to go to school. Most of the time, the answer Is because our parents asked
us to. Only up till now, I believe they were totally right. The primary school taught me the very first
handwriting, which now people use to Judge how I am. High school explained almost all questions that people
around me could only give vague answers. Moreover, now I am gradually making my dream come true. I
cannot build my knowledge today without experiences in life. I used to be always afraid of failure.
Unfortunately, the more I am scared of it, the more likely it will occur. That mistake is probably the biggest
shame I have ever had. However, it was also a turning point in my life. That moment gave me the lesson that
success does not only include training but also through challenges. Nowadays, people tend to give up on their
goals too easily, which then leads to an immediate failure. The reason for this is because of the lack of passion.
Donald Trump, a well-known successful billionaire, used to advice the new generation to find their passion and
love what they do. His achievement is the best evidence for this secrete component of success. The passion we
hold to each goal helps and substantially overcomes the discouragement in front of any loss. Be passionate
and determined for your excellence.

“The Spirit Onslaught”

A lone traveller is walking across a forest region at night. It is pitch black and he has only a flaming torch with him. He has no idea
how long that will last. He must find a place to spend the night! Suddenly, he sees a faint glowing ball of light in the distance. He
went towards the light hoping for some assistance and help. The light was coming from a campfire from a
nice little camp. There were fine snacks like marshmallow sticks and fried stew and ham. There were two tents, colorful and neat.
There were all the necessary items for camping and entertainment. The traveller named Lou sat there
and started to go through the snacks as he was very hungry. At that time, a man came to the camp. Lou thought that he was one o
f the camp owners.
The man was drenched with some sort of red liquid. That person was
surprised to see Lou. He suddenly fled from there towards a pathway in the forest to a nearby lake to wash himself. Lou
followed him to know what happened. While running, a knife fell out of his pocket. Lou picked up the knife to find out it was covered
in blood.

Lou expected that the liquid covering the body of the man was also blood!! He suspected a murder. After
taking a proper cleaning, the man came back to the camp. Lou ambushed him and threatened to kill him. He
asked the man to explain everything. The man described that his name was Colt and he came there to camp
with his friend Max to celebrate the graduating of Max to a very special school. After settling, they went for
hunting deer’s. Max got lost in the forest as he went
further into the forest while colt hunted in the surroundings. Colt caught a deer but could not find Max after
that!! Lou questioned the whereabouts of the deer. Colt said that a tiger nearby pounced on him, causing a few
bruises which he showed to Lou as an evidence and concluded that the deer was eaten by
the tiger. Lou felt it was a made up story but was floored by Colt’s innocence.

• He let go of Colt and offered to help him find Max. As he was walking towards the forest, a sudden, deadly

blow from a shovel knocked him out. He woke up from a sudden shot of water. It was his mother trying to wake
him up. Realizing that it was a dream, he started to get ready to go to the college. How silly of him!!

The kid who realized her mistake.

Once upon a time, there lived a family of four. Their names sounded the same. The father's name Haniya
was Billy, the mother's name was Lily, the daughter's name was Millie, and the other daughter's 6G
name was Tillie. Millie was young and was the age of 4 whereas Tillie was older than Millie at
the age of 6. There was 2 year's difference from both of them. Tillie was a good child. She is
kind-hearted, helpful and never lets anyone down if she made a promise to anyone. Everyone in
the family loved her so much. Tillie studied in 1st grade and Millie studied in the nursery.

Millie is also a nice girl but does not understand important things. She is just like her sister but to
other peoples only. But when it comes to parents, she is annoying, naughty, disturbs and also
irritates everyone. Why? Well, because she thinks everyone in her family does not like her, but
everyone does even though she annoying. But she doesn't know that nor does she understand
that. Whenever she goes to a shopping mall, she always says that she wants a toy. The parents
go to the toy store, finding out that Millie intends to buy an expensive toy. Father says no, but
Millie does not listen and starts to cry, making the parents very angry. Then the father begins
shouting at Millie and goes out of the toy store. Like this, Millie thinks her parents always hated
her and won't let her buy a single toy. She even thought about what gifts her parents will buy on
her birthday.

The kid who realized her mistake.

She always beats her sister and her parents. Tillie always tells that being nice would maybe be gifted with Haniya
a lot of things they want. But Millie does not understand that. It was Millie's birthday coming soon, and she 6G
didn't want to celebrate it because she thought her parents wouldn't buy anything, so she didn't come out of
her room. Her parents would knock on the door, asking her to come out. Lastly, she got so annoyed with the
knock-on the door, so she came out. Her parents were relieved and was to give her the present that was
bought for her birthday when she ran away from her parents. The parents were confused so they went to
Millie. Mom asked- why are you sad Millie? Millie asked- do you hate me mom? Mom said- No, why would
I hate you. You are the sweetest kid I know and here is a present for you.

Millie was happy for no one hated her and understood that her parents were shouting at her because the
money was too much and it was also because of love. When Millie opened the present and was so shocked
to see the toy that she asked for in the toy store. She hugged her mom and dad and her sister for the present.
She also realized that it was not good to beat everyone we care about. She said sorry to everyone for
beating. Everyone forgave her and nowadays she was the sweetest girl in the whole family, like her sister.

Life is earth is possible only due to the Sun. The sun gives energy to the plants on our planet earth. Let’s explore
planets in the solar system.

The first planet in the solar system is Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and also the smallest planet in the solar
system. It rotates around the sun in 88 days. The second closest planet to Sun is Venus. Venus is the hottest planet
in the solar system. It is also called earth’s sister planet. The third closest planet to Sun is Earth. We live on planet
earth and the only planet in the solar system that has water and life. Earth has a satellite plant called the moon. The
fourth closest plant to Sun is Mars. It is called the RED Planet. It has a thin atmosphere. We have sent rovers to mars
and as of now, rovers are moving on the mars surface sending images of mars. The fifth closest planet to the sun is
Jupiter.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. The most famous feature on the surface of the planet is the 'Great
Red Spot' which is a storm that has been blowing for about 350 years, if not longer. The sixth closest planet to Sun is
Saturn. Saturn is the second-largest planet and is known for its rings, although the other gas giants also have these
kinds of rings, only Saturn’s rings can be seen as the clearest. The seventh closest planet to Sun is Uranus. Uranus
is a blue planet, not because of water, but because of gases that make it appear blue. The eighth closest planet to
Sun is Neptune. Neptune is closely related to Uranus, the atmosphere is composed of almost the same gases and
just like Uranus, Neptune also appears blue.

• VIRUS AND MUTATION: A THREAD TO HUMANKIND. Parvathy Shelly
10-G
• BY- Parvathy Shelly.

Many of us don’t know that virus and mutation have small relation with each other. In other words, we can say
viruses become stronger and powerful due to mutation. Does mutation only happen with virus? The answer is
no. all living organisms undergo mutation. Then why it is relevant to Study mutation in virus. The answer is very
simple genetic material of virus is RNA which is highly reactive, hence mutate very fast. Let’s dig deep into
mutation and virus while taking COVID- 19 as an example. So, the idea of “viral mutation” may sound concerning
to all of us, it’s important to understand that many of these mutations are minor, and don’t have an overall impact
on how fast a virus spreads or potentially how severe a viral infection might be. In fact, some mutations could
make the virus less infectious.

As a virus replicates, its genes undergo random “copying errors” (i.e., genetic mutations). Over time, these genetic
copying errors can, among other changes to the virus, lead to alterations in the virus’ surface proteins or antigens.
This is what happened with COVID-19 with time occurred errors in genetic copying which led SARS co 1 to SARS co
2. There is a chance for newer versions of COVID-19 which can more infections and dangerous. Although SARS-
CoV-2 is mutating, thus far, it does not seem to be drifting antigenically. It should be noted, however, that SARS-
CoV-2 is a newly discovered virus infecting humans. There are still many unknowns, and our understanding of the
SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to grow, grow and grow. So now next question is that

• Do we have any role in virus mutation? Yes, we are the real cause of fastening the rate of mutation in viruses
resulting in pandemic. One of reason which increase faster mutation rate is pollution. Pollution can cause
heritable mutations, according to a field study of exposure to ambient air near a steel mill. They then measured
the length of a stretch of noncoding DNA that is prone to environmentally induced insertions and deletions,
which allows for an easy determination of the mutation rate, hence making our life miserable

It is said that

“THE UNIQUE NATURE OF VIRUS IS ITS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR CHANGES, FOR MUTATION.”
