Autobiography

Ashlee Pacheco

Covid 19

An important life event is when my grandpa from dad's side passed away from covid. First, my
grandparents went to Oregon 2 months ago because they would be safer from covid over there since
California had most cases. Next, a few months later my grandparents got covid and more of my family
members did too. After, my grandpa and one of my uncles had to go to the hospital because they
couldn't breath probably since they had covid. Also, my uncle and grandpa had to get the oxygen
machine. Then, the doctor had told my whole family that my grandpa was getting worse and they
couldn't do anything about it. Also, they gave low chances to my family of my grandpa living. My dad
decided to fly over to Oregon on Monday. The doctors told my whole family that he was suffering so
they decided to put him in comfort care. Comfort care is care that helps or soothes a person who is
dying. We had to go on zoom last week to say our last goodbye to him. It was really hurtful to me
because I was not going to see him again. Finally, on Monday the doctors said that grandpa had
passed. This news was very hurtful for me and my family. I learned that you should always appreciate
your family cause you will never know when they will be gone.

Mexico

An important life event was when I went to Mexico for a year when I was 5 years old.
First, I went to Penjamo,Guanajuato. Next, I had a lot of fun adventures over there.
For example, I went to different places in Guanajuato. Then, I met a lot of relatives I
did not know. Also, I broke my hand in Mexico. In Mexico I put my hand in a fan
because I was not smart. After, I got a cast for my hand since it had a lot of cuts. In
Mexico, I went to a lot of parties with my family. Finally, I had to leave Mexico a year
later and had to go back home. When I went to mexico I learned a lot of new things
about my mexican culture.

School closing

An important life event is when they closed all the schools due
to Covid. My first thought was ok they are just going to close
schools for like a week but no it was for months. In my opinion,
online school is better but I want coronavirus to be over.
Online school is sometimes stressful. I think closing schools was
a good thing because coronavirus kept getting worse. I think
right now Corona is calming down but I don’t know. In
addition, my reaction when they closed all the schools I
thought it was going to be a little vacation. It was a vacation
but it was a stressful one with all the work we had for school. I
learned that a virus can affect your education.

Hospital

An important life event is when my baby cousin was born. I
remember when I was on a trip and then out of nowhere my aunt
called that she was at the hospital. My family and I had to drive 2
hours to get to the hospital. Then, the doctor asked me and my
cousin if we wanted to go see our aunt so we said yes. I remember
when I saw my aunt and her face looked really white since she
was in a lot of pain. Afterwards, I had to get out of the room for
the rest of my relatives to see her because a lot of people can not
be in the room. Finally, I had to leave the hospital because it was
already late and the next day I had school. Finally, we got a call
from the doctors that my aunt had already given birth. I was so
happy because my baby cousin was finally here. I learned that
having children can be painful but at the end it's worth it.

My name is Ashlee Pacheco. I was
born on August 23, 2006. I was born in
Colton,Ca. I used to live in Big
Bear,Ca but then I moved to Compton
when I was 7 years old. I moved to
Compton because a lot of my family
lived here. One of my favorite hobbies
is to go hiking. Also, I love buying
shoes.
