Mindful Paws The ‘Mindful Paws’ project was a collaborative initiative between the Rotaract club of Rajarata University and the Rotaract club of Soka Albatross, sponsored by Rotary club of Aarch City-Madras RID-3232. This took place on 25th November 2023. This endeavor aimed to address the mental wellbeing of animals, recognizing their silent pleas for compassion. The project emphasized understanding the emotional needs of our furry friends and establishing a platform for positive change. We decided to help animals through online webinars. We made a plan to share information and teach people using virtual tools. We organized the webinar, planned online workshops, for people to learn about animal care. Each team member had a role in making the online events successful. We reached out to people, vets, and leaders through online platforms. We shared our project details, and social media helped spread the word about our online webinars. We told them about our project and why it's important to care for animals. We used digital platforms to promote our webinars. Online posters, social media posts, and emails helped us connect with a wider audience. This helped more people know what we were doing. People seemed happier through our online efforts. People attended webinars and learned more about taking care of animals from the comfort of their homes. We made new online friends who care about animals. Our project reached people beyond our local area. The community gained more virtual knowledge about animals and how to treat them kindly. We aimed to contribute SDG 15: ‘Life on Land’ by improving the wellbeing of animals in our community. Our project focused on creating awareness and kindness toward animals. Our project aligned with ‘Maternal and child health.’ 04

05 Child abuse is one of the serious crimes in today's law. To protect children from predatory acts and to spread awareness about child abuse, the United Nations has declared World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse on the 19th of November each year. Adjoining this memorable day an awareness program titled, “Saving the Flowers” was conducted regarding Child Abuse related laws via online platform on the 19th of November 2023. Our esteemed guest speaker Mr. Sanjaya Munasinghe, Attorney–at–law, gave valuable insights on the laws corresponding to Child Abuse Prevention in both global and Sri Lankan context. This program was able to provide awareness about the laws and regulations regarding Child Abuse Prevention to our beloved Rotaract Club members, providing them a great insight about the existing laws in the world. These kinds of programs remind us of the true value of Humanity in today’s world as “Humanity is our strength.” Saving the Flowers “PROTECTING OUR FLOWERS TODAY ENSURES A BETTER TOMORROW”

The transformative initiative by the Rotaract Club of Rajarata University at Rathnayake College, Anuradhapura, aimed to rescue school children from the clutches of drugs through a comprehensive drug prevention project. Executed on December 8, 2023, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, the initiative featured enlightening lectures by Dr. Manoj Fernando under the overarching theme, "Get Rid of the Illusion of Drugs." This concerted effort sought to safeguard Sri Lankan school children from the perils of drug addiction. The project meticulously addressed the risks associated with drug addiction, the pathways through which children become entangled, methods for breaking free from addiction, and critical information pertinent to the issue. Recognizing the need for tangible impact, a decision was made to conduct a physical workshop for children. A detailed plan was devised to disseminate information and educate children using various resources. Both a webinar and a physical workshop were organized, with each team member playing a crucial role in ensuring the program's success. The collective efforts culminated in a successful drug prevention workshop, creating awareness and providing valuable insights into combating the menace of drugs among Sri Lankan school children. 06 Drug Prevention Program

In a world clamoring for instant results and overnight success, the often-overlooked key to quietly making dreams a reality is consistency. It transforms aspirations into achievements, turning ordinary individuals into extraordinary success stories. Consistency is the heartbeat of progress, the daily routine that pushes us towards our goals. Small, persistent steps may seem inconsequential, but they accumulate, forging an unbreakable path to success. It's not the occasional grand gesture, but the steadfast commitment to regular, deliberate actions that breeds excellence. Moreover, consistency builds trust, relationships, and reputations. In times of challenge, it's the consistent ones who stand tall, their resilience in times of adversity. Consider consistency as the secret ingredient that turns passion into mastery. It's the constant practice, the daily grind, and the unyielding belief that transforms dreams into reality. So, as you put timetables and New Year resolutions at the beginning of a new year, remember it's a process fueled by the power of consistency. Be Consistent! & watch your dreams unfold in ways you never thought possible. 10 Consistency a key to success M.M. Fathima Nuha Faculty of Applied Sciences
