International AffairsNakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Welcomed Exchange Students from Japan and VietnamOn July 1, 2024, the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) welcomed two exchange students from Yamanashi Prefectural University (YPU) in Japan and five from the University of Foreign Languages and International Studies (HUFLIS) in Vietnam.The IAO organized various activities for the exchange students, including campus tours, sessions on Thai history, society, and culture, and general knowledge about Thailand and Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Additionally, the students attended basic Thai dance demonstrations and toured Korat City to learn about the historical significance of key sites in the province.Both groups of exchange students engaged in collaborative activities at NRRU. The Japanese students participated in year-long programs focused on Thai language and cultural studies during the 2024 academic year. International Affairs Newsletter 2 Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat UniversityJuly - September 2024On July 3, 2024, the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President conducted interviews to select students from Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) to join the Language and Culture Exchange Program (LACE) at the University of Foreign Language Studies, University of Da Nang, in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The program was scheduled for August 26–31, 2024. The interviews, conducted in English, were open to NRRU Young Ambassadors who had previously participated in volunteer activities organized by the IAO and the university.This opportunity aimed to foster international cooperation and provide students with an immersive cultural and linguistic experience.On July 6, 2024, the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President arranged a visit to Phimai Historical Park for exchange students from the United Kingdom, Japan, and Vietnam, along with Young Ambassadors from Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU). The visit aimed to provide an immersive experience in Thai culture and lifestyle. Following their exploration of the historical park, participants engaged in hands-on activities such as mulberry planting, silk farming, silk weaving, and rice farming with local villagers at Ban Mai Chamuak Community in Nikhom Sang Ton Eng Subdistrict, Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.On July 8, 2024, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) welcomed Ms. Li Yingxuan, a Chinese volunteer teacher, as part of the 2024 Chinese Volunteer Teacher Project. This initiative was organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (OPS, MHESI), in partnership with the Center for International Chinese Language Exchange and Cooperation, Bangkok Office.Lecturers Mr. Phacharaphon Chuenchit and Ms. Jiraporn Pasaja, from the Bachelor of Arts Program in Chinese Language, greeted Ms. Li upon her arrival. She will serve as a volunteer instructor, supporting the teaching of Chinese language courses within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. This initiative, running from June 25 to July 19, 2024, aimed to promote educational and cultural exchanges, involving Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU), its Demonstration Secondary School of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, and Suranaree Witthaya School. The participants engaged in activities that included educational workshops, teaching practice observations, and cultural exchanges.Ms. Donlaya Petchdee, Acting Director of the International Affairs Office (IAO), and IAO staff from the Office of the President attended the presentation held at the Mini-Theater, 2nd floor, Office of Arts and Culture. The exchange and liaison students jointly presented on local customs, daily life, teaching insights, and other significant experiences. International Affairs Newsletter 4 Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat UniversityJuly - September 2024Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Engaged in Discussions with Indian Government University to Explore Collaborative ActivitiesThe International Affairs Office Selected Students to Volunteer as Interpreters for the 4th Southeast Asia Women’s Volleyball League and Pre-SEA V LeagueNakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Welcomed Chinese Students to Study the Communicative Thai for Foreigners Program for 2 Years On July 18, 2024, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU), under the leadership of Assistant Professor Arnut Jaisamrarn, Ph.D., Vice President for University Council, Special and International Affairs, and Associate Professor Sirivadee Wiwitkhunakorn, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, held an online meeting with executives and faculty from the Central Institute of Hindi in Agra, India. The meeting, attended by university executives and Ms. Donlaya Petchdee, Acting Director of the International Affairs Office, aimed to explore academic collaboration, including the potential for formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for future cooperative initiatives.Additionally, this year, five NRRU students received scholarships from the Indian government to pursue Hindi language studies at the Central Institute of Hindi in Agra for eight months, emphasizing NRRU’s commitment to fostering international academic exchange and collaboration.On July 24, 2024, staff members from the International Affairs Office, Office of the President, along with Mr. Woottinan Chaisri, the Chairman of the Bachelor of Arts Program in Communicative Thai for Foreigners, traveled to Suvarnabhumi International Airport to welcome 20 Chinese students from Yuxi Normal University (YXNU), People’s Republic of China. These students have arrived to study at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University in the Bachelor of Arts Program in Communicative Thai for Foreigners, at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, for a duration of two years.On July 24, 2024, the International Affairs Office, Office of the President, conducted interviews to select volunteer interpreters and coordinators for the sports teams participating in the 4th Southeast Asia Women’s Volleyball League and the Pre-SEA V League. The selected students carried out their responsibilities from August 7 to August 12, 2024, at the Sports Complex in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, in honor of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 2007.

These students are participating in the Biology Program under the Faculty of Education and the Information Technology Program under the Faculty of Science and Technology, as part of the International Credit Transfer Program (ICTP 2024). This initiative provides students with an international educational experience, allowing them to earn credits applicable to their degree programs.The exchange students will attend classes and participate in various activities alongside Thai students from August to November 2024, fostering cross-cultural interaction and academic collaboration.On August 1, 2024, the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU), under the leadership of Acting Director Ms. Donlaya Petchdee, held a training session for international students enrolled at the university. This event was part of the “International Relations Project for International Students, Academic Year 2024.”The session aimed to provide vital information for international students to facilitate their adaptation to life in Thailand. Key topics included Thai regulations, visa requirements, tips for adjusting to living in Thailand, and guidelines onappropriate behavior as an international student at NRRU.On August 6, 2024, the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President conducted interviews to select student volunteers to serve as interpreters and coordinators for the ISTAF Sepaktakraw World Championship, “The 37th King’s Cup.” The results of the selection process were announced on the IAO’s official Facebook page. The selected students were tasked with fulfilling their roles from September 1 to 8, 2024, at Terminal Hall, 4th Floor, Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall in Nakhon Ratchasima Province.This volunteer opportunity not only allowed students to assist with event logistics but also provided them with valuable experience in international sports event coordination and cultural exchange.August


International Affairs Newsletter 6 Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat UniversityJuly - September 2024International Affairs Office Strengthened Ties among International Students at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University in 2024Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University Sent Students as Volunteers for EURO CAKE 4th SEA V League 2024 and Pre SEA V League Women’s Volleyball CompetitionsInternational Affairs Office Took NRRU Young Ambassadors on Educational Exchange Trip to VietnamOn August 2, 2024, the International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President, under the leadership of Acting Director Ms. Donlaya Petchdee, hosted the opening ceremony for the “International Relations Project for International Students, Academic Year 2024” at the Golden Land Resort Hotel, Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.The project’s goal was to foster stronger relationships among international students at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) by creating opportunities for interaction. Activities included a Walk Rally to encourage teamwork and various cultural and language exchange events to build connections between international students, Thai students, and IAO staff.The project drew 70 participants, comprising 53 Chinese students, 5 Cambodian students, 2 Japanese students, 5 Indonesian exchange students, and 5 Thai students who helped coordinate the event.On August 7, 2024, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU), led by the International Affairs Office under the Office of the President, sent volunteer student interpreters and coordinators to support athletes participating in the EURO CAKE 4th SEA V League 2024 and the Pre SEA V League Women’s Volleyball competitions. The volunteers welcomed the athletes upon their arrival in Nakhon Ratchasima Province and facilitated various coordination tasks.The selected students carried out their responsibilities according to the event schedule, which ran from August 9 to 11, 2024, at Chatchai Hall within the His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary Sports Complex. This experience not only provided logistical support for the competitions but also allowed the student volunteers to gain valuable intercultural and organizational skills.The International Affairs Office (IAO) of the Office of the President at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) organized an educational exchange trip for 20 NRRU Young Ambassadors to participate in the Language and Culture Exchange Program (LACE) at the University of Danang, University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) in Vietnam. The delegation included Associate Professor Adisorn Naowanondha, Ph.D., President of NRRU; Assistant Professor Arnut Jaisamrarn, Ph.D., Vice President for University Council, Special and International Affairs; Associate Professor Sirivadee Wiwitkhunakorn, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; faculty members; and Ms. Donlaya Petchdee, Acting Director of the IAO.On September 10, 2024, the team held discussions with the Central University of Haryana on potential academic cooperation, covering areas such as:1. Student Exchange: Internships, language immersion, and cultural programs.2. Lecturer Exchange: Faculty collaborations for Thai and Hindi language teaching.3. Joint Research: Partnered research initiatives.4. International Conferences: Co-hosting academic conferences.5. Academic Programs: Joint degree options and collaborative academic activities.On September 13, the delegation also formalized plans and signed an MoU with Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwa Vidyalaya in Wardha (MGAHV).This initiative demonstrates NRRU’s commitment to fostering well-rounded graduates and strengthening its academic and international capabilities.
