Project Power is the first ever live CCM MT POEM Showcase. The students of ethnic majority created a cabaret of pieces that inspire and empower the diverse identities that make up our musical theatre community. This performance is a collaboration of skills with students stepping up as arrangers, choreographers, stage managers, leaders, and more. The class of 22 is grateful for MT 21 who virtually produced Project Exhale last year and are excited to see how this legacy continues in the years to follow.

Christian Feliciano (he/him)

"Project Power unites the bipoc students, we

rarely ever get the chance to create and

perform with one another. This project gives us

a space to share our experiences and build a

community where we celebrate our differences

and similarities."

Kai Horvit (they/them)

"I hope the legacy of this project provides

future MT Bearcats an opportunity to share

their unique identities and celebrate

community!"

Christian Kidd (they/them)

"This piece is a chance to collaborate with each

other and celebrate who we are. This is a

chance to see ethnic people in positions of

power. Directing, Producing, Chroreographing,

Music Directing, etc."

This showcase is a culmination of years of hard work and

dedication from students before us and with us to ensure
that we were able to hold this space.

Garrett Van Allen (he/him)

"Project Power has been so engaging to work on not just

because of the content but because of the people and

their love for the arts and each other."

Alloria Frayser (she/her)

"The fact that I’m onstage with these incredibly talented

people is an honor, and more than I could even imagine

when I was a first-year here at CCM. I’m here because

it’s an honor, a privilege, and finally a reality for me."

Matt Welsh (he/they)

"It’s a rare opportunity to collaborate and create art with

under represented artists"

SOPHOMORES
Jeffrey Cornelius (he/him) (left to right)

"I wanted a space to celebrate each other while doing the art we love."

Peter Neureuther (he/him)

"I love to make art with this amazing group. It is so nice to work with my fellow classmates on this project."

"This piece to me represents the community that many of us have lacked for so long. Being able to come together and
create, laugh, and live together is important."

Benjamin Cheng (he/him)

"This project creates opportunities to have complicated but very meaningful conversations with my classmates. Also, it
allows me to meet and perform with those I may not normally engage with."

"I love being able to have a platform to celebrate who we are and simply just 'be'"

Gracie Parker (she/her)

I think everyone should be proud of their heritage and celebrate where their families come from! Everyone matters,
and everyone’s story should be told!
