WHY EXTREME SPORTS? Ability to stay centered
Extreme sports can push you to your physical and mental limits.
When it happens, it’s easy to mind, but that can lead to
dangerous mistakes. In your life, you will find that you are wiser in
managing your stress or problems.
Stress reliever
Extreme sports are actually stress relievers. The dopamine
chemical, which is induced by the brain, will help keep you
happy. While doing extreme sports such as wall climbing or
jumping off a plane you are able to see the world in a different
point of view, which also makes you feel a rush of contentment.
Healthy muscles
Extreme sports require your muscles to move in an unusual way
than your daily activities. Yes, it can cause soreness after, but
actually it is good for your overall physical fitness. When you
embrace an extreme sport, you will begin working different
muscles, and this will be a positive thing for your health.

TRY BUNGEE JUMPING TO
OVERCOME YOUR FEAR. Bungee jumping is an activity that involves a
person jumping from a great height while
connected to a large elastic cord. The
launching pad is usually erected on a tall
structure such as a building or crane, a bridge
across a deep ravine, or on a natural
geographic feature such as a cliff. It is also
possible to jump from a type of aircraft that
has the ability to hover above the ground, such
as a hot-air-balloon or helicopter.
The first modern bungee jumps were made on 1
April 1979 from the 250-foot (76 m) Clifton
Suspension Bridge in Bristol, England, by David
Kirke, and Simon Keeling, members of the Oxford
University Dangerous Sports Club, and Geoff
Tabin, a professional climber who tied the ropes
for the jump.

have you some things about

rafting based on wikipedia
before?
Rafting is one of the extreme sports
that has become popular since the
1950s. Rafting is an competitive sport
where you compete with other teams
to reach the finishing line. Rafting
requires an inflatable raft to navigate a
river or sometimes mini waterfalls.
Other than that, rafting requires
paddles that is made by either wood or
plastic. For safety, it is improtant for
rafters to wear a safety jacket and a
helmet since rivers can be extremely
rocky sometimes.

climbing, which is also performed without ropes,
bouldering problems (the sequence of moves that a
climber performs to complete the climb) are usually less

Interview by Cynthia & Mr. Eric
Encourage your students to exercise their creativity by
starting a newsletter. While it seems like a daunting project, a
student-made newsletter will give your kids firsthand
experience in writing, research, planning, management, and
design.
Start by helping them come up with a goal for their
newsletter. Who will read it? What will it be about? Ask for
suggestions on what the newsletter should be called, then
have them vote on it. Pick their brains for ideas on what they
can write about. Consider school events, community
activities, or even the things that happen in their classroom.
Aside from news articles, they can also feature their own
literary efforts. Suggest that they write poems, songs, short
stories, and one-act plays. Tell them they can write funny
essays and silly jokes, too!

flyboarding
by: siti sarah
Flyboard is a type of water jetpack device attached
to a Personal Water Craft (PWC), which supplies
propulsion to drive the Flyboard through water to
perform a sport known as hydroflying.
A Flyboard rider stands on a board connected by a
long hose to a watercraft. Water is forced under
pressure to a pair of boots with jet nozzles
underneath which provide thrust for the rider to fly
up to 22 m (72 ft) in the air or to dive headlong
through the water down as far as one is willing to
go.

KITESURFING
BY ALEYA
WHAT IS KITESURFING ?
Kitesurfing is a wind-powered watersport
that uses a kite and a board to propel you
across the water. Despite the name, it
doesn’t have to involve wave surfing –
kitesurfing can be done on mirror-flat
lagoons, as well as in choppy seas or big
waves. All you need is wind and water.
There’s a lot of fun and progression to be
had with kitesurfing. Once you've
mastered the basics of riding along and
staying upwind, you can start going
faster, jumping, doing freestyle tricks,
riding waves or going on long
‘downwinders’ along the coast.

Another prominent form of surfing is body boarding, where a
surfer rides the wave on a bodyboard, either lying on their
belly, drop knee (one foot and one knee on the board), or
sometimes even standing up on a body board.
Other types of surfing include knee boarding, surf matting
(riding inflatable mats) and using foils. Body surfing, in which the
wave is caught and ridden using the surfer's own body rather
than a board, is very common and is considered by some surfers
to be the purest form of surfing.
