Hi DHL Superstars,
Happy New Year!
I hope all of you and your family are keeping well and healthy despite the new variant of
Omicron. As we have entered 2022, I am excited to share with all of you the final piece which is
the 3rd edition of DHL E-Insight for year 2021!
My peers – the Senior Management Team and myself would like to say a Big Thank You to each
one of you for your great work done and have As One brought 2021 into a wonderful closure for
us all. Without your great work, we would not be achieved on No.1 World Best Workplace for
DHL Express and this is a great testament from you – DHL Superstars! Let’s begins our new year
with the same focus on P=GQ!
In this edition, let us refresh our great memories of what we have achieved and been through As
One in the last quarter of the year as well as the recap for 2021. People remains our top priority
whereas we focus on Health and Wellness of our workforce – how we combat and shared
insights of COVID-19; continued to help the community by vaccine delivery as well as connect
people and improve lives – DHL’s Got Heart by provided aid to our workforce and community on
the recent flood; Talent Acquisition through Talent Management via our Taleo platform;
Performance Management with our six Leadership Attributes; develop growth with our internal
modules – CIS; You and I make a difference on Compliance for better business; great journey
with Smart Connect by connecting our workforce; achieved great score in EOS and followed by
celebration; first ever virtual celebration with our 2019/2020 Employee of the Year; captured
and pen down the voices for our journey of No.1 World’s Best Workplace; a good recap of our Go
Family journey; and of course our Digitalization journey! I ensure this edition could bring back
your fond memories of 2021 that we shared together As One.

Dear Colleagues,
As the year draws to a close, we inevitably look to the one ahead and think about how we’d like it
to turn out. This year, I am certain that most of you share the same wish, that this pandemic will
end. And there are reasons to be somewhat optimistic about 2022.
Almost all of us are fully vaccinated, with some of you already receiving your booster shots.
Although many parts of the world are now seeing another wave of coronavirus infections—i.e.
Omicron—we have learned much in the past year, and in many places, lockdowns are not as
strict as they were earlier in 2021. We know that our wish to end COVID-19 will not be fulfilled
immediately, and I would like to urge everyone to practice and abide by the recommended
safety SOPs.
2021 has been a challenging year for many of us, especially our customers. However, it was also
an exciting year where we have learned to be more resilient, agile, patient, and creative. The
phrase “More Connected Than Ever” rings true for most of us. I truly believe that while we had
connected virtually, we took every opportunity to reconnect amongst ourselves when we were
finally allowed to meet.
Over the past year, we have pulled together, working with each other in ways that surprised us.
Of course, we have joined forces on bigger issues, and between your teams, you were there for
each other when the need arose. I am convinced that this mutual support, trust, and the
conviction that we are all working for a greater cause, has helped make us so successful—be
that in keeping our colleagues safe, our customers satisfied, or our finances strong. This is
Respect & Results in action!
Our success is also a result of our second strength, our culture. This has emerged, sometimes
quietly, over the past decade, but it has become apparent during this pandemic. Respect &
Results and “Connecting people, Improving lives” are two of the many aspects of our culture.
If there is a final wish for the coming year, it would be that no matter what happens, we
celebrate our culture and what we have achieved this year. You have made a difference to so
many people and met the challenges caused by the crisis with bravery. For that exceptional
work, you have our utmost thanks and appreciation.

stay safe and healthy.

Dengan akhir tahun semakin hampir, kita setentunya melihat ke hadapan ke tahun seterusnya dan berfikir
tentang bagaimana kita inginkannya berubah. Tahun ini, saya pasti kebanyakan daripada anda berkongsi
hasrat yang sama, agar wabak ini akan berakhir. Terdapat beberapa tanda tentang 2022 yang memberi
optimisme.
Hampir setiap satu daripada kita telah divaksinasi sepenuhnya, dan sebahagian daripada anda telah menerika
suntikan penggalak. Walaupun banyak negara kini mengalami gelombang jangkitan yang baharu—misalnya
Omicron—terdapat banyak yang kita telah belajar pada tahun lalu, dan sekatan tidak seketat seperti sebelum
ini. Kita tahu bahawa hasrat kami untuk menamatkan COVID-19 tidak akan dicapai serta-merta, dan saya
menggesa semua orang untuk mengamal dan mematuhi SOP keselamatan yang disyorkan.
2021 merupakan tahun yang mencabar bagi ramai daripada kami, terutamanya para pelanggan. Walau
bagaimanapun, ia juga merupakan tahun yang menarik di mana kami telah menjadi lebih berdaya tahan,
tangkas, tabah, dan kreatif. Ungkapan "More Connected Than Ever" adalah benar bagi kebanyakan kita. Saya
percaya bahawa walaupun kita telah berhubung secara dalam talian, kita mengambil setiap peluang untuk
berhubung semula apabila kita dibenarkan bertemu.
Sepanjang tahun ini, kita telah saling berpakat dan bekerjasama secara menakjubkan. Sudah tentu, kita telah
bergabung tenaga pada isu-isu yang penting, dan anda telah menunjukkan solidariti di kalangan pasukan
apabila diperlukan. Saya tahu bahawa kejayaan kita—mahupun dari segi memastikan rakan sekerja selamat,
pelanggan berpuas hati, atau kewangan kita kukuh—adalah hasil daripada sokongan, kepercayaan, dan

In memory of our beloved friend Nur Ezzati Farhani (DPN)
30th March 2015, Nur Izzati Farhani officially joined Big Yellow Machine with smiley
face. Her charisma in her highly self-motivated and being a most cheerful person won’t
stop her mingle around with everyone in DHL.
She’s the person that most welcome and greet everyone with her smile and positive
words. We truly missed her voice, her smile and of course her present since August 26,
2021. We can still picture you, like a photograph, we can see your smile, we can hear
your laugh.
You will not be forgotten as long as life and memory last, your soul will live in us, Nur
Ezzati Farhani.

Malaysia Vaccine Distribution Overview COVID-19 Updates
DHL Express Malaysia has distributed 38.8 million doses of
the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine across the country year-to-
date.
The project was originally scheduled to complete by
December of 2021 with delivery of 44 million total doses.
With some change of plan by Ministry of Health, project is
expected to continue until end of March, 2022.
This includes rollout of vaccines for children between ages
5 and 11 during this period.

As I reflect on the year that has gone by, my heart swells with pride on how much we
have achieved amid another challenging year. Not only did we deliver on our own
performance and took care of our own, we also impacted the community around us
through our GoHelp and GoTeach program.
• Our Net Promoter Score closed at 59% for 2021 and our ICCC Index averaged
83% - this, supported by our green scorecards show that we continue to deliver great
service quality. However, in order to stay number 1, we must continuously improve
and widen the gap against our competition. Remember, our goal is to get from "Great
Service Quality" to "Excellence. Simply Delivered"!
• Through our GoHelp program led by Shin, brother Gabriel and Joann, we
impacted many beneficiaries in 2021 by partnering with NGOs e.g. Zer0Hunger, PAWs,
Shekinah Care Center and Project UNITY. This is funded through employees'
contribution and matched 1:1 by the company. Thank you for your generosity and
support and for your involvement in connecting people, improving lives!
• In 2021, we embarked on developing our own virtual learning modules under
GoTeach led by Eileene and Ee Lin, and currently in our portfolio we have 5 modules
that we have rolled out to close to 200 participants, many of whom are the children of
our own employees. Through GoTeach, we aim to empower our youths for the future.
We are on track with our MYVLC aspiration and many CI projects have contributed to
that, including the launch of our very own Certified Customs Clearance module, many
digitalization and data-driven solutions, our initiatives around leads to FTB and our
focus on CX. So, a big thank you to all who made this happen!
In 2022, we can expect the commercialization of drone delivery, doing GEMBA with
empathy, more CX stories and learning how we can operate with a purpose. As we
approach the new year, I would like to wish you and your family a fantastic 2022 and
