Glaciers

Glaciers are more than a big piece of ice. they are a big mass of moving ice. As
new snow fell on old snow it became ice. Mendenhall Glaciers is one of the 38
Glaciers that made it up the juneau icefield,in alaska. Glaciers are Formed by
accumulating over thousands of years.

Ocean

The ocean has salt water and lots of sea creatures such as ,

sharks, fish, and dolphins . The ocean can be found at all types of

beaches. The oceans of the world are actually a landform of water

that do take up 71% of the Earth's surface. It is made up of a

total of 5 bodies of water such as the , Atlantic Ocean, Pacific

Ocean, Southern Ocean, Arctic Ocean, Indian Ocean.

Deserts

Deserts can be good and bad for
people. There are very few things that can
survive in the desert. There are many types
of deserts. A dry desert has certain animals
that survives good. For example: red
kangaroos, elk, and african wild dogs live in
deserts. A dry desert is very sandy and it has
lots of hills. In a cold desert only certain
plants can survive. For example: The Sego
Lily, Bitterbrush, Rabbit Brush, Sage Brush,
and different types of grasses can survive in
cold deserts. Cold deserts is covered in snow
and it can get as cold as 10 °C (50 °F).
Deserts can be found away from the coast.
You can find deserts in Australia, Mexico,
China, US, Africa, Antarctica, Middle East, and
Iran. Deserts can be a good place to survive,
but sometimes it’s not.

Valley yea learning about a Valley!

A valley is formed by flowing water, or river valley, is usually-V
shaped. The exact shape will depend on the characteristics of
the stream flowing through it. In geology, a valley or dale is a
depression that is longer than it is wide.

CANYONS

A canyon is a big hole from an earthquake that
split the earth in half. A canyon is made from the
ground so it is dirt, rock and dust. You can find
canyons in the desert and hot places, but not in
your backyard. It is not possible unless there is a
earthquake in your backyard. The most famous
canyon is the Grand Canyon.

Plains

Plains are not as plain as you think they are. Plains
have interesting things about them. Plains are flat lands
with valleys in them and on the door steps of mountains.
They are also good for farming. Plains usually meet the
ocean or sea. Most cities are in plains. Plains are flat but
they have rivers. Some places were plains can be found
are Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and
Texas.

Plateaus

There are many different flat lands called plateaus. The biggest plateau is the
Tibetan Plateau. Plateaus can be found in Asia, India,Tibet, and China. The
Colorado Plateau is a one -hundred- thirty square region centered over the
four corners of the American Southwest. The world's largest plateau split in
half. A plateau is a relatively high area of flat land. Plateaus can form into
different forms.

Isthmus

An isthmus is a narrow strip of land connecting two larger land masses. An
isthmus has water on two sides. This landform can be found in Panama and many
other places like the Outer Banks. Isthmus is a narrow organ, passage, or piece
connecting two larger parts.

Archipelago

My landform is archipelago. It
is two island together. It
happened a long time ago
because a volcano erupt.
That's why we have big
land.

Capes

Have you ever saw a point of land that goes to water? A
cape is a type kind of landform that always points out to
water. It can always be found by lakes, rivers, oceans.
Capes can be found by large bodies of water too.

Cliffs

Cliffs are made up of rock that rises
very high straight up and down. Cliffs
are formed when wind and rain break
off pieces of rock. Cliffs are found near
oceans mountains canyons. Cliffs can
come in different shapes and sizes.
The highest cliff is Rupal Flank. It is
15,092 feet high.

Delta

Delta is not just an airline. Delta is the mouth of a river that splits into small
streams. These streams spill into a pool of water usually found near wetlands and
waterfalls. It can be dangerous to fall in the pool of water you may drown
depending if you can swim or not and how deep it is so be careful.

Rivers

A River is a flowing body of water. They flow very fast and may never stop even if
you try your best. They are really deep and go super fast.
Every river is peaceful and are very beautiful and very good places to relax and
have a picnic but do not and I mean do not camp on the riverbed. So rivers are
dangerous and I mean it. Rivers are freshwater and rivers have lots`of life.

Peninsula

A peninsula is not a pen. A peninsula is land that is surrounded
by water on three sides but still connects to main land. But still
are rarer. Florida is the only one in the United States. They are
surrounded by salt water. Italy is one too. If you were looking on a
map for peninsula look for land that is surrounded by water on
three sides by still connects to mainland.

Tundras

You might know a tundra as a type of car, but it's not just a car. It's a landform! Tundras are very cold.
They do not have many trees, none to be exact. There's very short growing season. There's also very little
precipitation, Very little nutrients and low biological diversity. A tundra can be found at the north and south pole
mostly cold places.did you know at night it get to -25℉. Wow, that's cold! Tundras are very cold and not much
grows.

Butte

A butte is a flat topped rock. You can find a buttes in Arizona, Navajo nation and
also in a valley. A butte resists erosion. In fact the the only difference about a
mesa and a butte is the size. The bigger one is the both because there almost the
same size. The gradual wearing away of earth by water, wind and ice.Butte has
very very steep sides the sides are so steep that you could fall off so easy.

Mountains

A mountain is a landmass that project higher than its
surroundings. A mountain is much higher than a hill. It
towers 29,028 feet above sea level. Mount Everest is
probably the worldś most challenging mountain to
climb. It was first ascended in 1953 Edmund Hillary and
Tenzing Norgay. As of 2004,over 2,200 people had
successfully reached the peak and 186 people had died
trying.

Volcanoes

Volcanoes are on Earth’s crust. Volcanoes
have lava and magma. Volcanoes are
important because it makes land. Which is
important to us. It takes Many years for a
volcano to erupt.

Mesa

Mesa is a spanish word for table. It has that name because it is flat on top. A mesa
is a plateau. It was formed by water.

Islands An island is a piece of land that is completely
surrounded by water. Islands are made by
volcano lava that is hardened. An island is a
lava that is hardened.
