HARI KANTIN SKKBB Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Baru, Bintulu telah mengadakan Hari Kantin pada 4 dan 5 Oktober 2023. Program ini telah diadakan di Kantin SK Kampung Baru dan bermula tepat pada pukul 8.00 pagi dan tamat pada pukul 12.20 tengah hari. Terdapat lima buah gerai jualan yang dibuka pada hari tersebut iaitu gerai jualan unit beruniform Pengakap, Pandu Puteri Tunas, Tunas Kadet Remaja Sekolah (TKRS), Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah (PBSM) dan Persatuan Puteri Islam Malaysia (PPIM). Guru-guru penasihat unit beruniform terlibat dalam menguruskan gerai jualan dan dibantu oleh murid-murid tahun 5 dan 6 yang terpilih. Antara program yang telah dijalankan semasa Hari Kantin ialah pesta jualan makanan, minuman, barang mainan dan aktiviti sukaneka serta permainan sempena hari sukan negara yang turut diadakan pada hari yang sama. 2023

A vampire is a mythical creature that subsists by feeding on the vital essence (generally in the form of blood) of the living. In European folklore, vampires are undead creatures that often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods which they inhabited while they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance, markedly different from today's gaunt, pale vampire which dates from the early 19th century.
Irish legend speaks of a lament being sung by a fairy woman, or banshee. She would sing it when a family member died or was about to die, even if the person had died far away and news of their death had not yet come. In those cases, her wailing would be the first warning the household had of the death. The banshee is also a predictor of death. If someone is about to enter a situation where it is unlikely they will come out alive she will warn people by screaming or wailing, giving rise to a banshee also being known as a wailing woman.
The Pontianak usually takes the form of a pregnant woman who is unable to give birth to a child. Alternatively, it is often described as a vampiric, vengeful female spirit. The Pontianak is often depicted as a long-haired woman dressed in white, and it represents local variations of a vampire. She lures in unsuspecting men to incite fear and enact revenge. Signs that a Pontianak is nearby include the sound of an infant crying and the smell of a decaying corpse or the plumeria flower.
The toyol is traditionally and commonly described as looking no different from a near-naked toddler. However, regional differences can account for variation in appearance and characteristics; the toyol is claimed to look like a normal child with the exception of sharp teeth and red eyes, but the Indonesian tuyul has the addition of green skin and pointed ears. The toyol is also said to only steal half of a person's valuable belongings. While widely known to help its guardian pilfer, the toyol carries out other mischievous acts when commanded.
In ghostlore, a poltergeist is a type of ghost or spirit that is responsible for physical disturbances, such as loud noises and objects being moved or destroyed. Most claims or fictional descriptions of poltergeists show them as being capable of pinching, biting, hitting, and tripping people. They are also depicted as capable of the movement or levitation of objects such as furniture and cutlery, or noises such as knocking on doors. A giant is an ancient mythological humanoid creature originating primarily from Norse and Greek legend. These beings may look similar to humans but possess tremendous size and the strength to move mountains. In many mythologies, giants are said to be primeval beasts that frequently engage in battle with the gods.
Jorogumo means “ woman-spider ” in English. They feed on young men who fall for their tricks—trapping them in their webs and devouring them slowly. The jorogumo legend is based on the real golden-orb weaver spider, which is found all around Japan. When the spider reaches 400 years old, she will transform into a jorogumo and start preying on humans.
A gumiho (nine-tailed fox) is a creature that appears in the folktales on East Asia and legends of Korea. It is similar to the Chinese huli jing, the Japanese kitsune and the Vietnamese hồ ly tinh. It can freely transform into a beautiful woman often set out to seduce men, and eat their liver or heart (depending on the legend). There are numerous tales in which the gumiho appears, several of which can be found in the encyclopedic Compendium of Korean Oral Literature.
