Dear Friends,

Welcome! And thank you for choosing to celebrate with me at my 2022 Gala event. Your
presence here is doubly gratifying because of our forced separation over the past two years
because of the COVID pandemic.

I remain humbled by the trust placed in me by the residents of Plainfield when they re-elected
me to serve this historic third consecutive term.

We’ve accomplished amazing things over the past eight and a half years. We’ve ushered in an
honest, sustainable period of renaissance, and we’ve left behind the bitter legacy of the 1960s
rebellion. Today there are over a billion reasons to believe in Plainfield, and that’s because of
the trust placed in us by our partners who have invested here.

Mayor Transformation is happening in every ward of our city, from new development, to million
dollar renovations of our recreational spaces, and a re-imagining of our industrial corridor to

create a technology innovation hub. Soon we’ll have a broadband infrastructure that will

support SMART technology across the city and allow us to usher in a new age of connectivity in Plainfield.

This is not me, it is US. Without your support, your faith, your partnership, and hard work, none of this would be
possible. Thanks doesn’t seem like enough, but it’s a good place to start. Thank you for allowing me to work with
you to transform our beloved city into the one we’ve all dreamed about. A city that can stand proudly next to any
other city in this nation. A city that has proven that we may be bowed, but we will not be broken.

We remain committed to finding ways to improve the quality of life for every resident. We continue to imple-
ment programs to help those who need a helping hand from time to time. We’ve provided assistance when most
needed for housing, for utility bills, for food insecurity, for taxes, and for struggling businesses. The progress
in Plainfield must be shared by everyone. That is the promise of One Plainfield, One Future and that is the

driving force behind our decisions.

The believers of the vision from day one are the architects that designed the change we see today. They
pushed me when I grew discouraged and helped me find solutions when faced with the impossible. I don’t
have enough words to say thank you. Together we built a bigger tent and made room for others to join us
as we chased the dream of revitalization.

There are so many wonderful things happening in our Queen City that the feeling of excitement is
palpable. The next four years will bring dramatic change, and it begins tonight as I host for the first time
ever, my gala in a beautiful space right here in the heart of our downtown.

I hope I can continue to count on your friendship and support as we continue to #LovePlainfield and
help her to flourish, grow and thrive!
