PURPOSE




The information provided in this handbook is intended to answer questions employees may have pertaining to safety rules and
emergency response. Please take the time to read the handbook and to learn the critical process of evacuation.


This specific steps will equipped each individual to quickly react in case of emergency and exert measures of control in the face
of unexpected events. Additionally, an educated workforce will assist safety personnel to respond more effectively, which will
ultimately increase your chance of survival and safeguard the company welfare.

SAFETY



RULES





CAR PARK: Compliance with speed limit is 20km/h is compulsory.


PRESS: As per ADNOC COPV5-05, liaison with the press should be in
consultation with ADNOC Corporate Team.


MEDIA: Employees and Contractors are required to protect the privacy and

confidentiality of company’s information, hence they should refrain to send
“uncontrolled” information in any shape or form to social media or otherwise

EMERGENCY


EVACUATION TECHNIQUE






Evacuation technique : is the immediate and urgent movement of people away
from the threat or actual occurrence of a hazard.



• Stay calm and follow the floor fire warden instruction (yellow vest).

• Vacate the area by the nearest emergency exit – staircase.


• Do not stop to collect your personal belongings.

• Do not use the elevator.

• Take the stairways and Hold handrail.

• Remove shoes with high heels. Use FLAT shoes to prevent from slips, trips & fall.


• Do not call control room – it’s the floor fire warden duty.

• If assistance is required, inform the floor fire warden or floor security guard.

• Assemble at the designated assembly point (zone).


• Await further instruction from assembly point controller.

• Do not re-enter the building unless “All Clear” is announced.

• Do not attempt to move your car.

WHENEVER YOU SEE


A FIRE…














o Stay calm and do not use the elevator


o Alert everybody by shouting “FIRE!!!”


o Activate the nearest manual call point and inform the floor fire warden



o Call the control room 779999 or 077079999


o SMALL FIRE – “trash can size” - If trained, put out the fire using the fire extinguisher.


o LARGE FIRE – “above waistline” - Leave the room and close the door. Alert everybody and

call control room or activate the manual call point.


o Calmly and orderly evacuate the building as instructed by the floor fire warden or as per

announcement via Public Address System.

MEDICAL



EMERGENCY







• Stay calm.


• Immediately contact the control room 779999.


• Provide necessary details of the emergency.
o Where - place

o The severity - how bad?
o How many people are involved?


• Contact the floor first aider and/or fire warden, if available.


• If trained, assist the person until the arrival of the paramedics.


• If not competent, just reassure the victim and keep crowd away to enable the victim to breathe.


• In case of injury, do not move the victim (unless of an imminent danger).

EVACUATION –



SPECIAL NEEDS









SPECIAL NEEDS : Describe individuals who require assistance for disability that
may be medical.


• Stay calm and follow the floor fire warden instruction (yellow vest).


• Do not stop to collect your personal belongings.

• The control room will be informed with details about your special condition.


• Civil Defense will pick you up or Security Guard will accompany you down
via the elevator.


• You will be escorted to the nearest assembly point.

• Await further instruction from assembly point controller.


• Do not re-enter the building unless “All Clear” is announced.

• Do not attempt to move your car.

EARTHQUAKE








INDOOR

• Stay calm. Crouch under a solid structure and seek refuge away from windows, glass and

anything that might fall on or harm you. Staircase’s lobby and office corridors are safe places.

• Do NOT take the elevator.

• Do NOT use matches or lighter but rather a torch.


• Follow the instruction of the Fire Warden or from the Public Address System.


• If you notice any unsafe conditions or people in need of assistance, refer it to a Fire Warden or
Emergency Team who shall inform the control room number : 779999

OUTDOOR


• Stay away from trees, buildings, power lines and upper structures (e.g.: bridges)

• If in your car: safely stop and stay in the car. Stay away from upper and lower structures.


• Listen to the media for information updates and further developments.

• N.B.: After event, provide assistance to others. If the evacuation of the building becomes

necessary, please wait for Public Announcement and evacuate via the staircase.

PERSON


TRAPPED IN THE ELEVATOR












• Stay calm and be patient.



• Press the alarm OR emergency button. The control room will be immediately
alerted and will liaise with you until rescue is completed.


• Control Room Operator will notify maintenance department to activate rescue
procedure.



• Wait for instruction from control room operator and elevator technician.


• Keep your distance from the door.

SEVERE AND EXTREME



WEATHER CONDITION








• Stay indoor during: thunderstorms, strong winds, hurricane, lightning and
tsunami.


• Keep away from windows and doors. Shutdown electrical appliances if possible.


• Close “windows” and doors.


• Seek refuge: lobby, office, staircase’s lobby and car park concourse are the
safest place.


• If you notice any unsafe conditions or people in need of assistance, refer it
to a Fire Warden or Emergency Team who shall inform the control room
number : 779999


• Do NOT move your car or attempt to go outside.


• Wait for further instruction from control room via the Public Address System.


• In case of power outage: do NOT use matches or lighter but rather a torch.
