Ganesh Chaturthi Activity
• This month started on a festive note.
• Children were excited to listen to the story of Lord Ganesha’s birth.
• They decorated Ganesha greeting card using thermocol balls. Later the greeting card was
given as a take away.

Read a Book Day
“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world.
Love of books is the best of all.”
With this quote we initiated reading on 6th September 2019. Children took their first step towards
picture reading.

Letter I Activity – I as in Ink Pot
• Children were excited to learn many words starting with letter I as in Iguana, India, Insect,
igloo, invitation and Ink pot.
• I activity began with lot of excitement as they had to drop ink from an ink dropper on the pre-
drawn ink pot image!
• The child’s eagerness kept building as the ink drop fell on the tissue and spread out in all
directions.

Number Hunt
• Children were excited to search for numbers which were kept hidden inside the sand.
• They enthusiastically dug the sand to find the number and called out its name.
• This activity helped them to recognize the number and enhanced their motor skills.

Places around my Home: Market
• A market scene was set up using baskets containing plastic fruits and vegetables. A beam
balance added to the market charm inside their respective classrooms.
• Children enacted a market scene.
• It was a visual treat to see the role play of fruit/vegetable sellers and customers who came to
buy the fruits and vegetables.

Shapes: Circle, Square, Triangle
• Learning shapes helps the child to identify and organize visual information.
• We introduced basic properties of different shapes.
• Children learnt that a Circle has no sides, a Square has 4 sides and a Triangle has 3 sides.

Cleanliness
• Cleanliness started with the basics of personal hygiene like brushing of the teeth, combing
hair, washing hands before eating and after visiting the washroom, trimming nails and
bathing every day.
• Things used at home to keep oneself clean such as soap, shampoo, nail cutter and comb
were shown.

Letter J Activity- as in Jellyfish
• This letter was introduced in the class by pictures of a joker, jellyfish, jam, jar, jug, jet and
Jackfruit drawn on the board.
• Children decorated the paper plate jellyfish by tying wool/bubble wrap sheets as the jellyfish’s
tentacle.

Tangram Puzzle Competition
• Tangram puzzle competition was held on 13th September 2019 in Daffodils Cradle to
Crayons.
• Children created a square using the seven puzzle pieces on a given base.
The child who completed the puzzle fastest without overlapping emerged as the winner.

Healthy Food: Fruits, Vegetables & Water
• Picture charts of fruits and vegetables were shown to children.
• Fruits and vegetable toys were given for the enhancement of tactile sense.
• Importance and uses of water for drinking, washing, bathing, watering plants and cleaning
were discussed.

Letter K Activity
• Children were delighted to learn letter ‘K’ as in king, Kangaroo, kettle and kite.
• Children decorated a pre-drawn kettle using silver foil to give it a metallic effect.

Sorting Activity – Colours
• By sorting, children understand that things are organized into certain groups.
• Sorting at an early age is important for numerical concepts and grouping numbers and sets.
• Children were given objects to be sorted, based on colours.

Vegetable Printing – Carrot &
Ladies’ Finger
• Vegetables aren’t just for eating! They can be used to make beautiful paintings and crafts.
• Children used carrot to colour the apple and ladies’ finger to print petals on the stalk.

Letter L Activity
• Letter L was introduced with simple strokes of standing line and a sleeping line.
• Associated objects for Letter L such as Lion, lollipop, leaf, Lotus, Lemon and ladder were
drawn on the board.
• Each word was told by emphasizing the beginning sound‘ll’.
• Children made scenery having Lotus and Lion by pasting many leaves.

Big and Small Activity
• Big and Small concept was introduced by the song “Rolly Polly”.
• Children were shown big and small objects using ball, ring, teddy bear and board.
• Children crushed and rolled colourful crepe paper to make a Big and Small lollipop.
