Separate them into rings before refrigerating them in a
container of cold water for half an hour. Once they’ve 1-877-367-1015
cooled, drain the rings well and, if necessary, pat them
dry with a cloth; the batter won’t stick to wet onion rings.
Mix together the flour, salt, eggs, milk and the table-
spoon of oil. Beat the batter mixture until it’s smooth.
Batter the onion rings thickly before deep frying them
in hot oil at about 375° F until they’re golden brown on
each side. This should take 4-5 minutes. Drain the onion
rings on paper towels. Let cool and enjoy.
Makes about 4 servings.

VHearty French Onion Soup V

• 2 tablespoons of butter
• 3 large onions, peeled, sliced,

separated into rings
• 2 cans of condensed beef broth
• 1 tablespoon of

Worcestershire Sauce
• 1 cup of seasoned croutons
• 1 cup of shredded Mozzarella or

Swiss cheese
Directions:
Melt the butter in a large saucepan on medium heat.
Add the onions and cook them for 10 minutes or until
golden brown, stirring frequently. Add the broth, 2
soup cans worth of water, and the Worchestershire
sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat
to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes. Preheat
your oven’s broiler, ladle the soup evenly in 4 large,
oven proof bowls, and top them with croutons and
cheese. Broil the soup for 2-3 minutes or until the
cheese is melted.
