CREATIVE PURSUITS
 Art ‘n’ craft- Art is an expression of soul. Our Li’l Goenkans used their creative minds

to portray their colorful imagination through following activities:
 Painting circles of different sizes, Earth Day Poster, Origami Dog , Mother’s day card,

Wall Hanging using Warli Art, Exotic fruit, Name Plate with Initials, Japanese fan and
butterfly, Tiger and Qutab Minar, Folk Art (Madhubani), Janamashtami (headgear).
 Different techniques like painting, finger printing, stamping, tear and paste, drawing
and coloring, cutting and pasting, Paper Folding (Origami) were used.

 Indian Dance – Introduction of the Bhumi pranam
 Dance routine based on Baisaikhi theme(Punjabi folk dance)
 Introduction of Rajashthani folk dance and the costume and music used in the
dance as a part of Studio Presentation.
 Basic footwork and formation of hands and spins in Indian folk dances.
 Different Formations and work on body alignments.
 Introduction of UP folk dances and the costume and music used In the dance.(
Janamashtmi theme)
 Discussion about the Indian culture and dance forms from different states.

 They visited the library and read age appropriate books.
 Our Goenkans enjoyed story telling sessions

 Physical Education
 We believe that Sports encourages our students to nurture themselves into

disciplined confident, socially committed and well-rounded individuals.
 Physical fitness activities as Head to Toe exercises improve neuro- muscular, co-

ordination, running, jumping and hopping skills and increase muscle strength
.

 Step up – Children learned various games and techniques related to them. Few
are: Scoop ball, Rugby, Tackling obstacle mat, Object relay, Basketball, Baseball,
Blongo ball, Rebounder , Soccer, Paddle ball, Target ball velcro throw, Agility
ladder.

 Taekwondo – The students learnt the basic formations

 Yoga - Yoga is a group of techniques used for controlling the body and the mind;
Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or disciplines which
originated in ancient India. The children practiced the following:

 Om chanting
 Padmasana

 Tadasana
 Tiryaktadasana
 Pad -Hastanasana
 Katichkrasana

Kitchen Activity

Peanut Chana Ladoo

Ingredients :
1. Roasted Chana
2. Roasted Peanuts
3. Ghee
4. Jaggery
5. Butter Paper

Method : Under Adult supervision
 Step 1: Take grinded Roasted Chana and peanuts.
 Step 2: Heat a little water in a microwave oven. Add the jaggery powder and stir
until fully dissolved.
 Step3:Add the peanuts and Chana.
 Step 4: Once cool enough to handle, make small balls and keep them on a butter
paper.
 Step 6: Finally ladoos are ready to eat.
