3. Homesickness
4. Sickness or health condition
5. Social problems

S.M.A.R.T goals

• What specifically do you want to do?
➢ The hardest obstacles that I have to overcome is the time management. This is
because student’s life leads to enjoyment of freedom that college life can bring
and it can cause me to hit the wall of freedom overload. In no time, our free time
will get filled with competing demands, which will put even more stress on my
attempts to adjust my educational environment.

• How will you know when you’ve reached it?
➢ I use my mistakes as teaching opportunities. My failures can be my biggest tools
for implementing change if I pay my full attention. I need to find out what went
wrong, where and how and then I’ll know what to do differently next time.

• Is it in your power to accomplish it?
➢ Be resilient. Resilience is the foundation upon which time management ability
rest. Resiliency goes beyond being smart or motivated to succeed. It means that I
have to be strong to withstand the difficult times while deciding to persevere
while steadfastly holding onto my optimism about solving any given obstacles.

the bottom. I will also set realistic expectations. Organize my schedule according
to logical completion time-frames.

• When exactly do you want to accomplish it?
➢ Midterms and finals are not the only time for moderation. Non-essentials should
fall to the wayside as I prepare myself for these upcoming tests. I will let my

➢ When working together with friends and forms a study groups, we can generally

quickly by simply asking a question.

of my friends who can meet for between one to three hours. Study sessions less
than an hour are likely to be rushed.

➢ Yes, I can achieve this. I need to stay focused and organized. This tip may be
obvious, but staying organized and focused can be challenging when working
with a groups especially with my friends. There should be a group leader so that
the group will stay organized and under control.

to cram everything in.
