Titanic was launched on May 31, 1911 at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. This

ticket was issued to Mr. David Moneypenny, a shipyard painter who had worked on Titanic.
When this was completed, she sailed from Belfast to Southampton on April 2, 1912. Huge

crowds of shipyard workers and spectators watched the launch of Titanic, which was the
largest ship in the world at that time.

Titanic then set off from Southampton bound for New York on April 10, 1912. Titanic

At 11:40 p.m. on April 14, 1912 Titanic struck an iceberg and sank two hours forty

On August 6, 1945 the first bomb called “Little Boy” was dropped from the B29 plane

Enola Gay on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. It killed 70,000 people and wounded 80,000.
Another 60,000 would die from the effects of the atomic bomb blast and radiation. That was
the most desctructive incident through out the history.

While the Japanese were making up their minds, another bomb was dropped on
Nagasaki. It happened only three days after the first bombing and thousands more died.
Finally, Japan agreed to the unconditional surrender. Later, U.S. President Harry Truman

huge teeth. I did not get very close to them. We also visited the aviary. There were some very
colorful birds there. I really liked an old parrot which could talk.

I wish we could have spent more time in the Wildlife Park. There were so much to see.

from a wealthy family and never had to work. He studied medicine and theology. In 1831 he
graduated from University of Cambridge with a degree of theology.

Alexander Graham Bell
The telephone was invented by a Scottish teacher of the deaf named Alexander Graham
Bell. His great invention was really amazing. It is a very great use for the mankind in the world.
Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in the nineteenth century. In
1871, hecame to the United States. Several members of his family did a great deal to
encourage him in the field of science. He began his experiments by trying to invent the
harmonic telegraph.
Through an accident, he invented the telephone. On 10th March 1876, Thomas A.
Watson, Bell’s assistant, became the first person ever to hear words spoken over the
telephone. At that time, Bell and Watson were testing a crude telephone transmitter. Watson
was waiting for the test message at the end of the wire in another room. Suddenly,
Bell spilled battery solution on his clothes. He called out his assistant, “Mr.
Watson, come here, I want you!”
Then, Watson rushed into the room and shouted, “Mr. Bell, I heard every word you said
– distinctly!” The telephoned had worked. The damage to Bell’s clothes was forgotten. The
receiver and transmitter of Bell’ first telephone could be used interchangeably.
Afterwards, he exhibited his instrument at the Centennial Exposition at Philadelphia in
June, 1876. The public at first showed little interest, but scientists greeted it with enthusiasm.
The first money ever paid for the lease of a commercial telephone was paid in May, 1877.
By August of that year about 800 telephones were in use.
The first telephone line was installed between Boston and Somerville, Massachusetts in
April 1877. The first commercial telephone exchange was opened by George W. Coy on
28th January 1878, in New Haven, Connecticut.
Bell’s life was dedicated to a science. His very great invention is very useful for the world
communication i.e. telephone.

Maria’s hand glided through the warm clear water. Stroke after stroke she moved lazily

This was my second trip to Wakatobi, first July 2011 with 2 girl friends then back in Jan

2012 with another friend. Both times I toured around Bali before the stay at the resort, visiting
temples and my good friend Amy who lives in Sanur.

The flight from Bali to the resort was 2.5 hours long and I saw beautiful sights on the way.
On board, I was served a snack and drinks, it was very good. Once I touched down a van was
waiting for me to take me to the dock to board a boat, about 5 min drive. The boat ride was
15 min long and then I was at my vacation destination, Wakatobi!

A man carried my luggage to my hut and I was amazed how beautiful it was, wood walls
and flowing drapes around the bed. I did not have any problems with bugs of any type the 17
days I was there. I had a small refrigerator and electric tea pot, I made coffee every day, I got
up pretty early. I was in a garden hut, but also had a partial view of the ocean. Air-conditioning
was as cool as I would like, and a ceiling fan was also available.

I like macro, but I also like wide angle, not a problem with the diving area. The reefs are
the best I have seen anywhere, and that is why I will return time after time.

(AUD$20). My granddad almost bought it out of pity, but my grandma dragged him out of it.
As he turned his back on her, the lady said okay! RP15,000 (AUD$1.50). What a difference!
But eventually, being the kind-hearted person my granddad is, he bought 5 pieces.

Going To The Beach
Last week, my family and I went to the beach for spending our holiday. We were my
mother, my father , my elder brother and me. You can guess that in the beach was full of the
visitors, so we decided to went there earlier, it was around 6 a.m. My parents had us to
