The Eiffel Tower is
really amazing. It is
divided by three
platforms: the first lies 57
meters up, the second at
115 meters, and the third
at 276 meters. Above this,
Gustave Eiffel had his own
office installed, which was
later to become a

The restaurants and
boutiques on the first and

the pillars. One of the most unique panoramas in the world can be seen from the third
floor; here the eye spans an ocean of town planning, rising out of which are the most
noted monuments of Paris as well as the ultra-modern Tours de la Defense.
Although no damage was incurred during the tower’s construction, it was indirectly
responsible afterwards for the thousands of mad acts carried out by some very unusual
characters that did not always succeed in their adventurous attempts. For example, some
fun-loving runners organized races to the top of the first floor, while others tried to cycle
down the steps.
The tower stands high and mighty above the Champ-de-Mars, which at one time was
the scene of military maneuvers and later turned into public gardens at the beginning of
the century. Walking though, we can admire the flowerbeds, waterfalls, tiny lake, and the
wide avenues that cross the gardens.

Kecak Dance
Kecak is a form of Balinese music drama, originated in the 1930s andis performed primarily
by men. Also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant, the piece, performed by a circle of 100 or
more performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting "cak" and
throwing up their arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana where the monkey-like Vanara helped
Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. However, Kecak has roots in sanghyang, a trance-inducing
exorcism dance.
Kecak was originally a trance ritual accompanied by male chorus. German painter and
musician Walter Spies became deeply interested in the ritual while living in Bali in the 1930s and
worked to recreate it into a drama, based on the Hindu Ramayana and including dance, intended
to be presented to Western tourist audiences. This transformation is an example of what James
Clifford describes as part of the "modern art-culture system" in which, "the West or thecentral
power adopts, transforms, and consumes non-Western or peripheral cultural elements, while
making 'art' which was once embedded in the culture as a whole, into a separateentity." Spies
worked with Wayan Limbak and Limbak popularized the dance by traveling throughout the world
with Balinese performance groups. These travels have helped to make the Kecak famous
throughout the world.
Performer, choreographer, and scholar I Wayan Dibia cites a contrasting theory that the
Balinese where already developing the form when Spies arrived on the island. For example, well-
known dancer I Limbak had incorporated Baris movements into the cak leader role during the
1920s. "Spies liked this innovation," and it suggested that Limbak, "devise a spectacle based on the
Ramayana," accompanied by cak chorus rather than gamelan, as would have been usual.

Bunaken Island
Bunaken is one of the
very amazing places I have

North Sulawesi. This sea park
consists of 5 islands and 2
coastal areas, Bunaken Island,
Manado Tua Island, Siladen
Island, Mantehage Island,
Nain Island, Molas Coast -
Tiwoho, and Arakan-
Wawontulap Coast. Bunaken
Island, where once I spent my
holiday, is the most popular.
This ±8 km² wide island is located at the Bay of Manado. This area represents the tropical ecosystem
of Indonesia because it has any kind of tropical water ecosystems, such as mangroves, seagrasses,
seaweeds, and reefs.
I am always amazed with the diversity of rare aquatic organism species in this place, such as
dugong, dolphin, etc. Because of its high biodiversity, Bunaken can attract many tourists. It has 20
diving spots with the depth varying up to 1344 m.These spots are the most often visited by the
divers and the submarine panorama lovers. I have tried one of them and I found it really thrilling.
Furthermore, there are underwater great walls or hanging walls of giant corals that stand vertically
and curve up in this area. They become the food source for fishes in the water around the Bunaken
Island.
Besides the charming submarine park, the islands in this area present the natural atmosphere.
It is something which makes me enjoy staying. There are many cottages, resorts, and diving centers
that offer accommodation and diving services. Water pool, hot shower, and restaurants are also
provided.

Mbojo (Bahasa Bima) and has a clear relation to Flores.
Sumbawa lies within the Pacific Ring of Fire. It is a volcanic island, including Mount Tambora

The Exotic Sepanjang Beach
Known to bear a resemblance to the Kuta beach in Bali, Sepanjang beach is one of the beaches
which has beautiful scenery. The name ‘Sepanjang’ which means ‘long’ derives from the
characteristics of the beach that has the
longest coastal lines among all beaches in
Gunung Kidul.
Precisely located in Kemadang village,
Tanjungsari, Gunung Kidul, the beach with
its natural atmosphere has clear blue sea
water and clean white sand. The seaside is
decorated with palm trees and huts roofed
with dry leaves. The reefs in coastal tidal
areas are still well-maintained. The dashes
of waves reflect a blue color signaling
uncontaminated sea water. The beach is
also home for abundant marine animals, including star fish, sea snails, sea urchins, crabs, shrimps
and fish.
Throughout a long coastline, visitors can sunbathe, surf or just enjoy the beauty of the beach
with its gentle breezes. There are no permanent buildings alongside the beach, but few huts
inhabited by local people who sell food and beverages. Visitors can sit on bamboo seats in the huts,
have a rest, enjoy the blowing wind of the sea while having a drink or chatting. When daylight fades,
the visitors can see the sun set to the westwards.
