18 March 2016
Dear Parents,
I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather.
Keep your family safe online
This week we have continued our theme of Perfect Passwords. Please ask your child
what they have learnt about.
Over the coming weeks we will be looking at different areas in more in depth –
therefore we will be spending at least two weeks on each topic.
PTFA News
Thank you to all those friends and family that joined us for the Murder Mystery. It
was lovely to see so many people there and I hope you had a fun and restful evening.
Thank you also to the PTFA who put such a lot of hard work and effort into organising
such a fantastic event and raised over £500 towards the cost of the staging. A
fantastic achievement!
Tonight our PTFA are running the Easter Bingo. Doors will open at 6:00pm with eyes
down shortly afterwards. There are many prizes – mountains of chocolate – to be won
as well as a fish supper during the evening. We look forward to seeing lots of you later
this evening.
First Reconciliation
This week has been a very special week for a number of our children from Year 3, Year
4 and Year 5 who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Mr.
Wylde, Mrs. Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Davies attended the service and we were incredibly
impressed with how well the children did, how reverent they were and the amount of
support shown by their families. They were also impressed to see so many parents going
to confession too. Thank you to everyone for their support at such an important stage
of these children’s spiritual development.
Over the coming weeks the children will be making preparations to receive the
Sacrament of the Eucharist. I am sure you will join me in keeping these children in your
prayers as they prepare to receive God’s most precious gift.

World Book Day
WOW! Some of our children (or parents) have such wonderful imaginations. The
costumes the children came to school in were fantastic and I trust you enjoyed hearing
about all the wonderful activities that took place around school throughout the day
including the ‘Mystery of what happened to the Mona Lisa’.
Dodgeball Competitions
On Tuesday 1st March, 6 children from our Year 3 and Year 4 class represented the
school at Carr Hill at the Dodgeball competition. Well done to Eleanor, Eli, Jemma,
Lewis, Olivia and Rhys who, following a number of heated matches and tough
competition, came out on top!
On Tuesday 15th March, 8 children from our Year 5 and Year 6 class took part in their
Dodgeball competition. All the children played excellently and placed 3rd overall. Well
done to Amelia, Charley, Craig, Emilia, Frankie, Mitchell, Theo and Ruby.
There will be pictures of the teams going up on the school website so keep an eye out
for them.
Easter Production
As some of you may be aware, tickets are now on sale for the Year 3 and Year 4 Easter
Production, ‘This Man Called Jesus’. We will have two performances, Tuesday 22nd
March at 6:30pm and Wednesday 23rd March at 2:00pm. If you would like to buy
tickets, they are available from Mrs. Barnes in the office priced at £2.00 per ticket.
Tickets that have been reserved are now available for collection from the office.
After School Clubs
When we return after Easter AFC Fylde will be provided a Year 1 and Year 2 Football
Club on Thursdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm and a Year 5 and Year 6 Cricket Club on
Fridays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Mr. Wylde will send letters out at the beginning of the
term.
AFC Fylde Sticks and Stones Programme
On Wednesday this week our Year 6 children had a wonderful day. AFC Fylde provided
two artists to deliver an anti-bullying programme. During the morning they worked with
a children’s artist who talked about how actions have consequences as well as
entertaining them with many jokes and magic tricks. During the afternoon they worked
with a children’s poet who worked with them to create a song about actions and
consequences as well as entertaining them, again, with many jokes and songs. On
Wednesday the children will be working with a sculptor – watch this space.

Music Concert
On Tuesday 22nd March at 9:00am our guitar group will be hosting a short concert.
Parents of children who are learning to play the guitar are invited to join us.
Unfortunately Year 5 are unable to take part this time as they will be out of school
visiting the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
Apologies
Mr. Wylde has asked me to extend his sincere apologies for the mix up regarding the
Reception and Year 6 Liturgy. Parents and families are welcome to join us for their
children’s liturgy on Wednesday 23rd March at 9:00am.
Back to school
Please could I remind you that we return to school on Monday 11th April at the normal
time.
Dates for your diary
Please could you check the dates for your diary section as it is continually updated.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Yours faithfully,
