It first performed at the Welcome Freshmen Day on July 27th, 1955. At the end of 1970, a group of students assembled and formed a band once again and it had the opportunity of performing on September 20th, 1972 when the King came to play music for the Chula Community in the Main Auditorium, on the day that became known as “Royal Music” day. At present, the CU Band is well known at the university, national and international level. Proceeds from the performances are donated to public charities. Nowadays, their important annual activity is to perform on September 20th to commemorate “Royal Music” Day. The goal of the CU Band is to perform live music across several events and occasionally put on their own amazing concerts. Bridging Hearts and Communities through Volunteerism By Arpapat Soomswasdi Instagram: @voluntaryclubofchula Facebook: ชมรมค่ายอาสาสมัคมัรสโมสรนิสิตสิจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทวิยาลัย-สจม. Email: [email protected] While it is simple to get trapped in our daily routines in a busy city like Bangkok, Chulalongkorn University has a student organization that can depart from the chaos and experience a significant impact far away from the city. A club called VSCU (Voluntary Club of the Student Union Chulalongkorn University). This voluntary club is a remarkable club that embodies the spirit of volunteerism, offering students an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and engage themselves in community service. VSCU is primarily focused on organizing volunteer camps in schools located in other provinces. These camps are not just ordinary outings but rather transformative experiences. Participants in these camps engage in activities that involve repairing schools, teaching young children, and addressing community issues. Through these activities, they raise awareness and make a meaningful difference through the club’s channels. The camp experience is not just about giving; it is also about receiving. Volunteers find themselves enriched by new experiences, the company of diverse individuals, and a detox from their digital lives. This is a unique opportunity to rediscover the joys of authentic human connections and live in the moment. One of the club members, Sirinda Nuijaya, shared her volunteering camping experience, “The camp offers an opportunity to try new things, from construction work and cooking to immersing oneself in nature.” “It is an experience that creates different perspectives and provides individuals with various aspects of life they might not otherwise encounter in their everyday lives. VSCU is more than just an organization—it's a lifechanging journey,” she said. It provides personal growth and forging lasting bonds. The interviewee highlighted the friendships formed and the sense of community built during the camps. This goes beyond the confines of the university and offers students a chance to connect with like-minded peers who share their passion for making a positive impact. VSCU is an incredible student organization that transcends boundaries and pursues community betterment. The interviewee closed by saying, “Not just people with a natural tendency toward volunteerism should apply; anyone seeking an unforgettable experience and opportunities to give back to the community should as well.” As the interviewee suggests, this is an experience that cannot be found anywhere else. The camp experiences are interesting, and the friendships formed are bound to last a lifetime. If you're hesitating, go for it. 8

In recent years, the mental health of Thai students in higher education has been a cause of increasing concern. According to a recent study conducted by CU’s Social Research Institute and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) covering 9,050 undergraduate students from 15 universities nationwide, at least 40% of Thai university students suffer from stress, while 30% are often or always unhappy or depressed. The research also revealed that 4.3% of the surveyed students have been clinically diagnosed with psychological problems like bipolar disorder or manic depression. The surprisingly high rate of mental health issues among university students in Thailand emphasizes immediate attention and action. It is essential to prioritize students' well-being more and ensure they receive the support they need when facing challenges during their college year. \ 3. Directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Ronnie del Carmen, this 2015 masterpiece is guaranteed to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film in the 88th Annual Academy Awards, with an additional nomination for best original screenplay. Inside Out is the movie that is recommended for those who are looking for a good animation that will make us understand ourselves by seeing how emotions work in people’s heads in an easy-to-understand way through engaging stories. This movie makes the audience feel various emotions, from joy and laughter to tears and empathy, all within one and a half hours. It doesn't just tell a story; it makes you feel the story. The story of Inside Out takes place mostly in the head of an 11-year-old girl named Riley, who is depressed about her mom and dad’s decision to move them from Minnesota to San Francisco, separating her from her best friend. Understanding Ourselves Through Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ (2015) In her mind, her core emotions, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, and Fear, try to help her through her transition to adolescence and to assist her in making what they think are the right decisions in the brain’s control center. The five emotions live in “headquarters” and control how Riley feels. When it's Riley's first day of school, Joy and Sadness are accidentally ejected out of the Headquarters. Now it's up to Anger, Disgust, and Fear to make Riley happy until they return, but things quickly go downhill. 27 By Tishila Kunjara ฎืะ

The purpose of "Inside Out" is to portray the challenges that adolescents and adults face when dealing with significant life changes. It clearly depicts Riley’s frustration and confusion as she attempts and often fails to be the happy person she has always been due to many new conflicts and changes. Inside Out captures Riley’s struggle to handle a new environment, and one of the impactful lessons from Inside Out is that while people may think they need to be happy all the time, that is not true. Inside Initially, they show how Joy wanted Riley to be happy all the time and rarely let sadness take over the console, even when it was necessary, but as the film goes on, Joy understands the importance of sadness, and at the end, they take charge of Riley’s emotions together, creating a hybrid memory of happy and sad. When Joy wanted Riley to constantly be happy, even when times were tough, she made Riley temporarily happy, and all Riley felt was empty and numb, showing how Riley was truly sad and missed her old town and friends. Maybe she just needed to cry and let her parents know how she felt instead of bottling it up and trying to be happy all the time. Out” is an emotional rollercoaster movie that portrays a relatable journey of dealing with a lot of conflicting emotions as a young person growing up and experiencing new things. It reminds us that all emotions are valid and necessary for growth. Watching this film can somehow provide a sense of validation and comfort to those who are struggling or facing a significant life change, showing them that they are not alone. For those interested in watching "Insight Out," you can find it on Disney+ Hotstar Thailand. 28

The term "friend zone" refers to the relationship border that many people in this world seem to be crossing between "lovers" and "friends." Palm has been in this situation with his best friend, Gink, for ten years. He once told her he had romantic feelings for Gink during high school, but she kindly told him that being friends was enough for her. As the year went by, they became closer and closer, and Palm became the person Gink could rely on whenever she had problems in her romantic relationships. No matter where Gink happened to be, whether it was Myanmar, Malaysia, or Hong Kong, Palm, a flight attendant, would make the effort to be by her side. However, this constant support might be causing issues in Gink's relationship with her boyfriend, Ted (played by Jason Young). “Friend Zone” is a Thai romantic comedy film released in 2019. Directed by Chayanop Boonprakob, it was selected as the Best Original Song at the Thailand National Film Association Awards. This film is about long-time friends Palm (Naphat Siangsomboon) and Gink (Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul), who are in a situation where one of them wants to be more than friends but wants to avoid ending a friendship, which is called the friend zone. 11 From Friends To Lovers: A Movie Review Of ‘Friend Zone’ (2019) By Tishila Kunjara Then, out of nowhere, Gink asks Palm a gamechanging question: "Have you ever thought about us being in a romantic relationship?" This gets Palm thinking—maybe he can finally move beyond the friend zone. But he's worried about what could happen. Will taking this chance bring them together in love, or will it ruin their friendship forever? Palm is faced with a big decision, standing at the crossroads of friendship and romance, not sure where it will lead. The film has the ability to blend humor, drama, and romance in a way that feels genuine and sincere. The chemistry between the lead actors, Naphat Siangsomboon and Pimchanok Leuwisetpaiboon, is palpable, drawing the audience into their characters' journeys. Even though both of them had never felt or worked together before, they were able to play as long-time friends for 10 years very well. Visually, Friend Zone has stunning cinematography that beautifully showcases the beauty of Thailand and other countries in the AEC. The film's soundtrack and sound design enhance the storytelling, providing an immersive experience for the audience. For example, "Kid Mak” is sung in nine languages by popular singers from AEC countries. "Friend Zone" may be a romantic comedy, but it offers important lessons for college students entering adulthood. It underscores the significance of effective communication, the fear that often comes with risking friendships for romance, and the ups and downs of college life. If you find yourself at that intersection of friendship and romance, take a lesson from Palm and Gink and let "Friend Zone" serve as a guide to the unpredictable yet beautiful world of young love and enduring friendships. The movie is now available on Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime Video. 29
