Welcome to TJ-SIF 2022

Welcome to Thailand-Japan Student ICT Fair 2022, entitled “Seeding Innovations
Through Fostering Thailand-Japan Youth Friendship”. On behalf of the organizing board of
the fair, it is an honor and privilege to welcome all of you to the TJ-SIF 2022 held at Princess
Chulabhorn Science High School Chiang Rai, Thailand. This year, student to student
collaboration aims to keep holding Thai and Japanese students ICT Fair after finishing
successfully it in the past two years. We would like to thank the organizers for giving us this
opportunity to share with all the participants the topics included in the conference with an
emphasis on the application of information and communication technology, including
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Games and Virtual Reality, Intelligent Devices,
Robot and IoT, Software and Application and Other Topics in Information Technology.
Additionally, digital technology is a major trend in every part of the world and brought by the
deepest understanding of the role of ICT and innovative challenge, thus it is believed that ICT
student projects will benefit our partnerships among Thai and Japanese students and teachers
as well. As the conference focuses on the forefront of technological advancement, we are
offering both on-site workshops along with an online platform as well. The future
advancements in ICT will play a powerful role in the development of industry, agriculture,
health care and all other activities that drive our economy and society.

We are delighted to welcome Japanese students, teachers, and principals from super
science high schools and leading schools in Japan. And we also welcome Thai students,
teachers, and principals from the twelve Princess Chulabhorn science high schools.

We are also pleased and honored that you choose to host the fair in this beautiful city,
Chiang Rai. This ICT fair will be a wonderful opportunity to not only educate students and
young researchers but deepen our collective understanding of changing ideas and innovative
methods of treatments.

We are convinced that for professionals this is the fantastic event that will allow you
to learn many new things as well as share and reflect on your experience. We wish you all a

Poster Presentation Information and Guidelines

Poster Presentation Guidelines

• The poster display area is approximately 90 cm (W) x 140 cm (H). The recommended
poster size is A0 (84 cm x 119 cm) or 16 A4 papers.

• The poster must be in portrait (not landscape) format.
• The poster must be in English.
• The poster should contain all standard parts for ICT fair presentations, i.e., title

(header) and 4 topics are (1) problem/question, (2) framework/project design,
(3) finding, (4) interpretation and conclusion, discussion
• The poster must include the TJ logo on the top left when facing the poster
• The poster should primarily serve as a visual guide for your in-person presentation.
It is not a full paper. Please restrict your texts to convey only essential information.
• Use large fonts for better visibility. The following font sizes will ensure the
readability from 1.5 m away:

- Title and Heading: 48 pts,
- Subheading: 30 pts,
- Text and Equations: 18 pts.
• The colors of the final posters are printer-dependent and are very likely to be
different from what you see on your computer.
• Unlike the raster formats such as jpg, bmp, gif, tiff, or png, the vector graphic formats,
such as ai, eps, ps, or pdf will not degrade in quality when printing in a large area.
Highest possible resolutions for the raster images are highly recommended.
• It is the presenters' responsibility to print their posters beforehand.

Poster Presentation Online Platform via Gather.town

How to use Gather.town:

• Enter the environment using the link that was sent to you.
• Enter your name and affiliation and pronouns if desired. This will help identify you

to others within the Gather.town environment.
• Use the arrows to choose your avatar and clothing and click Next.
• Select your camera, microphone, and speaker; click Join the Gathering; and you will

enter the lobby.

Participants

• On the left side of the screen, a list of participants will appear. You can search
through and select the participants you would like to interact with.

• Clicking on a participant’s name will give you the ability to locate that person on
a map or follow that person. The Locate on map function will generate a dynamic
path to the selected individual until the feature is turned off. To toggle the pathway
off, select Stop locating on either the participant list or the button at the bottom of
your screen. The Follow function will cause your avatar to automatically walk to
and follow the individual until the feature is turned off. To stop following, select
Stop following on either the participant list or the button at the bottom of your screen.

Moving around in Gather.town

• Use the arrow keys in your keyboard to walk around
the space.

• As you start moving around, you will see and hear
other participants’ video and audio. The closer you
get, the clearer the video and audio become. As you
start moving away, participant video and audio
starts to fade.

• You will automatically be connected by video and
audio when you get close to others. You can change
that by clicking on your name at the center bottom
of your screen and selecting Turn On Quiet Mode.

• Fun tip: use ctrl + z to dance

To view Poster Sessions

• Each poster session topic has its own room within Gather.town.
• Once you join a room, you will see poster boards. To interact with a poster step into

the shaded (private) area in front of the poster; press “x” and the url link for the e-
poster will pop-up.
• During the designated poster sessions, presenter may be stationed in the private
areas to share their screen and discuss their research.
• If you are not able to enter the space, hold the “g” key to ghost while walking over
people to get into the space.
• You must enter the private space to be able to see and hear the presenter.

To present a poster
• Step into the shaded (private) area in front of the poster.
• Click on the share screen icon in the bottom center of your screen to display your
poster or slides.
• If you plan to display your poster or slides, have them open and ready to share.

• To stop sharing, click on the “Stop Sharing” button at the bottom of your screen.
• To exit the poster, press esc or click the x on the top right corner and use your arrow

keys to walk out of the space.

Presentation Guidelines

o You may include graphical elements as they would explain or illustrate your work
and can be contained within the overall page limits.

o Relevant citations / references must be made when appropriate
o You may re-sequence the slides / add additional slides if necessary, with

a maximum of 10 slides for the entire PowerPoint deck (Presentation slide)
o There are 6 parts of PowerPoint deck

(1) Project ID and Title
• General information of project i.e. Project ID, School, City. State,
Province, Country, Finalist Name

(2) Introduction
• Explain what is known or has already been done in your research area.
Include a brief review of relevant literature.
• If this is a continuation project, a brief summary of your prior work is
appropriate here. Be sure to distinguish your previous work from this
year’s project.

(3) Framework
• Introduce the concepts and notation needed to specify your research
question, methods, and results precisely.
• Define relevant terms and explain prior/background results. (Novel
concepts developed as part of your project can be presented here or in
Section 4, as appropriate.)

(4) Finding
• What did you discover and/or prove? Describe your result(s) in detail.
If possible, provide both formal and intuitive/verbal explanations of
each major finding.

(5) Conclusion
• How do the results address your research question? And how have you
advanced our understanding relative to what was already known?

(6) Reference
This section should not exceed one page. Limit your list to the most important references
