History/Cause Familial Mediterranean

•FMF- is a disorder passed down through

families (inherited). Fever
•Involves repeated fevers and inflammation

that often affects the lining of the abdomen,

chest, or joints.
•Caused by mutation of the MEFV Gene.
•Affects people of the Mediterranean

•Abdominal Pain •50-60% younger than 10 years old
