THE EXPERIENCE

Motorsport has seen some of the most memorable moments in sport. Full of excitement, fast cars and the spirit of
competition. It is exhilarating and widely talked about by its huge fan following. It is also a proven and successful
platform for companies to market their brand and prove out their products.
PRO-AM Racing is a new privateer race team, made up of motivated racing enthusiasts who have a shared passion
for motorsport, backed up by years of experience in the industry. In 2019 we are taking our first steps onto the
ladder of motorsport and we are looking for sponsors and partners to join us on this journey.
We believe our program can offer diverse, exciting opportunities and genuine value for you and your business.

THE TEAM

PRO-AM Racing was formed in 2018 however race team founders Scott Thompson and Ben Johansson have
worked together on racing projects since 2009; during which time they completed their Masters degrees in
Motorsport Engineering.
Their shared appreciation for design detail and high-quality manufacturing led to them being given the
opportunity to lead their Universities Formula Student project. The process of designing, manufacturing and
marketing a single seat formula racing car, created from scratch, provided the key skills and experience
required to create a competitive race car.

In the years that followed they have gone on to
be employed by companies such as; McLaren
GT, Mercedes AMG Formula One Team, CRS
Racing, Holset/Cummins Turbochargers, BMW
(UK) Ltd and Jaguar Land Rover.

Alongside our technical background there has always been the enthusiasm for competition and racing, with
combined success in Club 100 karting championships and through the Formula Student competition series.
More recently the team has made steps into the world of e-sports, which is an area of the motorsport scene
expected to grow hugely over the coming years. The next step in the journey is an entry into club level motorsport.
The knowledgeable and motivated team we have will provide a vital part in leading PRO-AM Racing to success.
Each and every team member brings their own expertise and personality.

The car is the first example and embodiment of the PRO-AM
design and build ethos and has been in build since 2015. Not
only has the car been stripped back to the bare shell, we have
used our design talent and experience to create bespoke
components to maximise the performance potential of the car.

THE CHALLENGE

2018 has been a year of intense testing and preparation for our inaugural year of racing in 2019. We are currently
looking for like minded partners to help ensure our first year of competition is as successful and competitive as possible.
The championship we have chosen to enter is the MSVT Track Day Championship
which will be in it’s fourth year in 2019. The TDC was created as a very competitive,
yet fun and friendly mini endurance series for production saloon, hatchback and sports
car racers. It includes visits to some of the most exciting tracks in the UK and
represents a real challenge in our first ever motorsport season. The championship also
includes one European round per year.
The championship is contested over 7 rounds, with each round consisting of a 30-minute qualifying session, followed by
a 45-minute race. Within the race each team must complete a mandatory 2-minute Pit Stop. Qualifying and the race
take place on the same day and all drivers must have a national B race license.
