Introduction

To promote the internationalisation of TVET
institutions and improve international competitiveness

and employability of TVET students in Southeast
Asian countries, the Southeast Asian Ministers of
Education Organization (SEAMEO) in collaboration
with Ministries of Education, other TVET-relevant
Ministries, and TVET institutions have introduced the

SEAMEO Polytechnic Network.

The network of colleges, polytechnics, and university
of technologies from Southeast Asia conducts
regional exchange programmes and other
collaborations to provide their students and
faculty staff with international education
experiences.

The SEA-TVET exchange programme have been
conducted since 2018 involving TVET institutions
from 5 countries - Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand,
Malaysia and Vietnam (up to 4th batch. The 5th batch

was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Introduction

In response to the COVID-19 situation, SEAMEO
has decided to reinvent the SEA-TVET Exchange

and the SEAMEO Polytechnic Network as the
SEAMEO TVET Exchange Programme (STEP)

and the SEAMEO TVET Network.

Under the SEAMEO TVET Exchange
Programme, SEAMEO will conduct the 1st batch
of virtual student exchange in May/June 2022

as a pilot between SEAMEO TVET Network
institutions from Southeast Asian countries,
mainly Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand,

and Vietnam.

• Zaitunah is the Head of School with extensive experience and
school management for TVET institution. As head of school she is
responsible for overview for the development and management
of the school and program run by School of Agro-Technology and
Applied Sciences. Zaitunah has a background skills and education
in agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture. Post graduate with
technical education and diploma in management and leadership
in school.

Zaitunah binti Haji Kurus

• Mardiana has been working at the School of Agro-Technology and
Applied Sciences since 2006. She is currently appointed as the
Academic Manager of IBTE Agro-Technology Campus since 2020.
Her responsibilities are monitoring the quality of teaching and
learning through implementation of programs and assessment,
managing and administering the academic and training aspects
as well as overseeing students’ academic matters and affairs. She
has 6 years of experience as Program Leader for Agrotechnology
programs. Her educational background is MSc in Food Science
from the University of Reading, United Kingdom.

• Muhammad Khairul Kamilin is the Assistant Programme Leader
for Agrotechnology programme under the School of
Agrotechnology and Applied Sciences, IBTE. He has been
teaching at the school since September 2014 and is also
responsible for food-related programme in the school. His
academic background include Master of Chemistry in 2012,
Master of Food Studies (specialisation Food Science and
Technology) in 2014, and recently Master of Teaching in 2021.
His areas of interest include food microbiology, food preservation
and food-product development.

Muhammad Khairul
Kamilin bin Haji Hamdan

• Muhammad Haikal is the Programme Leader for Agrotechnology
Programme under the School of Agro-Technology and Applied
Sciences, IBTE Agro-Technology Campus. He has been teaching at
the school since December 2012 and is responsible for the
development of Agriculture-related programme. His academic
background includes Bachelor of Science Agriculture (2011),
Master of Science Crop Improvement (2012) and Master of
Teaching (2017). His areas of interest include Agriculture, Crop
Technology and Entrepreneurship.

• Pengiran Zul-Fikar is a teaching instructor at Aquatech Unit under
Agrotechnology Programme of School of Agrotechnology and
Applied Sciences. He has been teaching here since October 2014.
His academic background is BSc in Marine Biology back in June
2014. Naturally, he specializes in Marine Biology but at school, he
widens his interest to ornamental fish farming as well.

• Awang Mohaidi is an Assistant Senior Technical Instructor at the
School of Agrotechnology and Applied Sciences. He graduated
from University Brunei Darussalam with a Bachelor of Arts in
Environmental Studies. In addition, he is the Programme
Management and Marketing Manager for IBTE Continuing
Education and Training (IBTE CET). He is responsible with
planning short courses for the IBTE programme. He teaches
Introduction to Agro Resources, Agro Food Business studies, and
Basic Agro Business Studies

• Hajah Nur Siti Amal Lina is a Senior Technical Instructor and has
been teaching at IBTE Agro-Technology Campus under the Food
Technology Unit since September 2015. She has a background in
Nutrition and Food Science and one of her teaching modules is
Introduction to Sensory Evaluation.

• Nur Nazurah has started teaching as an Education Officer in IBTE
School of Agro-Technology and Applied Sciences since June 2015.
With a background in Biology, she has taught a few modules that
pertain to the subject of Science, Veterinary and Agrotechnology.
Currently, she also has an administrative role as the school’s
Finance Officer who manages any procurement process that is
required for the purpose of teaching and learning.

• Siti Khadijah is a Senior Technical Instructor since June 2016 at
IBTE Agro-technology Campus with Food Science and Technology
as her Degree in 2014 and Master of Teaching in 2016 as her
post-graduate background. She has been appointed as an
Industrial Liaison Officer in 2019. As an Industry Liaison Officer,
she is responsible liaising with industries to create and foster
positive relationship with them in order to facilitate students’
educational attachment/internship.

Siti Khadijah Bte Hj Ismail

• Dayangku Zayaputeri is a Senior Technical Instructor who has
been teaching in IBTE, School of Agrotechnology Campus since
2017. She specializes in Animal Biology and is currently teaching
Fish Health Management & Poultry (Broiler) Production. Her
academic background includes BSc. In Marine Biology (2011),
Master in Biological Sciences (specializing in Animal Biology,
2013) and Master of Teaching (2017). She is also appointed as the
school’s Public Relation Officer.

• Mohammad Raimie graduated from the University of Brunei
Darussalam with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He began
working at the Brunei Institute of Technical Education (IBTE) in
2013. He has about ten years of teaching experience. He is
currently the Head of the Malay Islamic Monarchy Unit (MIB) and
the Head of Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) at the IBTE Agro-
Technology Campus. As a graduate of a local university, he has
significant knowledge of the history, background, culture, and
way of life of Brunei Darussalam's population.

• Haji Ahmad Faiz is an education officer under the IBTE
Agrotechnology Campus for about 10 years teaching various
subjects such as rice farming, ecological engineering practices as
well as the study of pests and diseases in agriculture. He
graduated with a Bachelors degree in Agriculture from the
University of Nottingham, UK in 2012 and Master of Teaching
from the University of Brunei Darussalam in 2018. His area of
interest ranges from photography, companion planting in
agriculture as well as urban farming to help develop young
farmers to become an agropreneur.

• Cikgu Hafizuddin graduated from the University of Brunei
Darussalam with a Master in Malay Literature (2012) and a
Bachelor of Educational Arts (2011). After joining the Brunei
Institute of Technical Education (IBTE) in 2012, he has
accumulated around ten years of teaching experience. Currently,
he is the Instructor for the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB)
module and the Assistant Discipline Instructor at IBTE Agro-
Technology Campus. As a Malay Islamic Monarchy Teacher with a
background as a Major in the Academy of Brunei Studies, he is
familiar with the culture, way of life, and traditions of the seven
tribes of Brunei Darussalam.

Hafizuddin bin Jumaat

• Azrenna is an education officer who has been teaching in IBTE
Agro-Technology Campus since January 2014. She is also the
Curriculum Development Officer for Agriculture programmes
since January 2016, in which she is in charge of the development
of programme guides. She is also appointed the Assistant
Examination Officer (answer scripts coordinator) and as an
internal auditor for IBTE. Her academic background includes
B.Sc. Chemistry (2007 – 2011), M.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition
(2011 – 2012) and Master of Teaching (2013). She specialised in
Food Chemistry and Chemistry and is currently teaching Food
Analysis, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Basic Agro-
Business Skills modules.

Bahagian Kawalan Makanan Halal (BKMH)

• Zurina Salwa is an Education officer. Her educational background
are B.A Syariah Ikhtisas from UKM, Malaysia, Dip. Pentadbiran
Kehakiman dan Guaman Syarie from UKM,
Malaysia and Diploama Pengajian Islam from IPI, Brunei. Zurina
Salwa has been working at Bahagian Kawalan Makanan Halal,
JHES since 2003 and previously had been working at Majlis Uga
ma Islam Brunei (Bahagian Kutipan dan Agihan
Zakat from 2000 to 2003. She also had halal audit experience in
Malaysia, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand and also had
performed abattoir inspection committee in Malaysia, Australia,
India & New Zealand.

Zurina Salwa binti Haji Osman

• Roshartiney works as Merinyu Kanan Hal Ehwal Ugama. Her
educational background is BSc (Honours) in Internet Computing
from University Technology Brunei and MSc (by coursework) in
Information Security from UTB. She had been working at
Bahagian Penguatkuasaan Ugama from 2005-2006, Bahagian
Kawalan Akidah from 2006 – 2014 and from 2014 till now
working at Bahagian Kawalan Makanan Halal. She also had Halal
Audit experience from Malaysia, Australia and China.

Bahagian Kawalan Makanan Halal (BKMH)

• Siti Nur Aziemah is the Nutrition Officer since 2020 in Bahagian
Kawalan Makanan Halal. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science
in Food and Nutrition from Coventry University in the United
Kingdom. From 2017 to 2020, she was an apprentice for the
iReady apprenticeship as a BKMH Inspection Officer.

Health Promotion Centre (HPC)

• Roseyati is a Senior Dietitian of the Brunei Darussalam Ministry
of Health. She co-leads nutrition-related initiatives, including
programs, policies, and guidelines, at the Health Promotion
Centre. Through one-on-one or group counseling/discussions,
she assists clients in making well-informed, realistic diet and
health decisions. She administers Medical Nutrition Therapies to
referred patients as part of their management of NCDs and
diseases. Roseyati is an authority on Individual or Group Dietary
Counseling, as well as Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition
(MIYCN). She is in charge of the WHO/UNICEF-approved trainer
for BFHI Breastfeeding Courses.

Roseyati binti Yaakub

• Dr. Ernina is the Lead for Policy Development and Monitoring at
the Health Promotion Centre, Ministry of Health Brunei
Darussalam. She is a senior medical officer, responsible for
development, review and monitoring of policies, guidelines,
strategies and action plans under purview of HPC. Dr. Ernina's
background is Primary Health Care however she has extensive
experience in Tobacco Policy and Programmes and currently
looking into Salt Reduction Strategy and Trans Fat Elimination
Initiatives.

• Azzarina is a student from HNTec in Agrotechnology (specialised
in Crop Technology). As a student, her role is to meet the
academic expectations by creating a collaborative learning
environment and displaying values of teamwork and unity with
other students. At School of Agrotechnology and Applied
Sciences, Azzarina has been elected by her instructors and peers
as student council to address the issues of concern and active in
organising student event and activities.

• Fatin is a student from HNTec in Agro-Technology (specialised in
Crop Technology). As a student her goal is to achieve educational
objectives and create a strong outcome through learning. She is a
